Chapter 1715 Black Missions
Chapter 1715 Black Missions
?Chapter 1715 Black Missions
"About 100?
Well, there are a lot of other factors, like how fast you completed it, the failure rate, and other stuff, but you still need to complete at least 100 Special Missions to become a Star Mercenary."
"Alright, give me 100 Special Missions then!
Nux nodded, but Arshia just chuckled.
"You look so desperate.
If you show this persistence while chasing a woman, you could get anyone you want, you know? Of course, that face would help a lot as well!
Arshia chuckled.
"Right now, I am more focused on the missions. I can't just keep chasing women, now can I? It wouldn't do well for my image!"
"IImm, I guess that is true. I wouldn't want a man who constantly thinks about chasing after women." "See? Why would I do something that would make me unlikable in your eyes?'
Nux smiled as he leaned forward.
The moment he did that, Arshia froze, her face flushed as she found herself lost in Nux's eyes. Then suddenly,
*flick*
"Ackk!"
Nux flicked the woman's nose, making her flinch in pain.
"What are you thinking about, Arshia?
Shouldn't you do your job and give me the 100 Special Missions that I need to complete?"
"O-Of course!
Arshia came out of her reverie and nodded as she started picking more Special Missions. But then, as she realized what she was doing, she paused.
"What happened?"
"I can't do that."
"IImm?"
"As I said before, you can only take one Special Mission at a time. We do this to avoid Mercenaries hoarding all the Missions to themselves and not letting other mercenaries complete them." "Can't you make an exception? I promise I won't hoard the missions for long!
"Even I cannot go against this rule," Arshia shook her head again.
"Well, this makes it difficult, Nux commented.
Then, he looked at Arshia and questioned,
"Is there no faster way to become a Star Mercenary?"
"Actually, didn't she say we need to make our name known throughout Nexus? I am sure there will be faster ways of doing that than completing 100 Missions."
Riona spoke up, and Arshia glanced at the woman and laughed.
"And what are you going to do to achieve that? Complete a Black Mission that has been abandoned by all?
"Black Mission?" Nux didn't miss that.
"Ah, it's nothing you should worry about." Arshia waved her hands in a dismissive manner.
"No, I want to know about it. What is it?" Nux insisted.
"It is nothing.
As I said, they are abandoned Missions; they do not exist anymore."
"Why is that?"
Nux questioned.
Arshia stared at Nux and frowned, but seeing the look on his face-one that looked like he wasn't going to back down unless he knew what it was-Arshia just sighed.
"Sometimes, your persistence is annoying, you know?
You should be glad that you are attractive!
The woman then made sure the sound barrier was still working fine and then,
"How things work in most mercenary halls is that a customer puts in a Mission that is to be completed.
First, the Mission is listed in the normal section.
If the mercenaries fail to complete that mission three times, we reach our customer and tell them the results; we then ask if they want us to put the mission in the Special Section and tell them how the cost of the mission completion would be affected by it. If the customer agrees, their mission then becomes a Special Mission.
Of course, it is different for VIP customers; since they are VIPS, we make sure to complete the Mission on the first try, and even if we don't, we rarely go back to our client and continue to raise the reward of the said mission on our own, even if it affects our own pockets.
However, every once in a while, there comes a Mission that cannot be completed, no matter how much manpower is used.
Missions that we have no choice but to abandon, even if it comes from a VIP.
Of course, this affects our image, and the VIP usually leaves and gets some other Mercenary Hall to complete it. Usually, it is a Mercenary Hall that is on a higher level than ours.
Sometimes, they even go to Mercenary Halls that are not in Nexus and are in other Mercenary Worlds.
It is regrettable, but that is how things are; you cannot satisfy every customer, no matter how hard you try"
"So the Black Missions you talked about are the Missions that are abandoned since the customer went to some other Mercenary Hall and they completed the Mission instead of you guys?"
"No"
Arshia shook her head.
"Those are called Closed Missions"
"Then what are the Black Missions?"
"Black Missions are the ones that are not Closed."
"Not closed?"
"We close the Mission when the customer informs us that the Mission is completed or that there is no need to complete the Mission anymore.
"So the Black Missions..."
"Yes, the Black Missions are the Missions that are not yet completed, even after the customer has contacted other Mercenary Halls.
And since, in most cases, the customers who come with these cases are VIPs who do not care about money, the number of Mercenary Halls they have contacted is absurdly high.
This one, in particular, I wouldn't be surprised if they even contacted High-Level Mercenary
Worlds"
"But if the Mission is still not closed..."
"Yes, it means that let alone other Mercenary Halls in Nexus, even the Mercenary Halls in High-Level Mercenary Worlds have failed to complete this Mission.
It has been abandoned throughout the Universe, and no Mercenary Hall is willing to touch it. Every Mercenary Party that has taken this mission has never returned alive.
This is why it is called the Black Mission that has been abandoned by all."
Arshia explained, just thinking about the number of merc
ercenaries who died trying to complete the
mission made her sigh in disappointment. Soon, however, she shook her head and,
"Anyways, as I was saying, you need to do hund-"
"This Black Mission, would I become a Star Mercenary if I complete it?"
