Chapter 742 Alliance Formed, Alliance Broken [Part 2]
Conflict had erupted in Island Number 1, 2, and 3.
However, the battles in these islands were not at all in the same league as the battles in Island Number 4, whose intense events had gathered most of the viewers' attention.
Roars of shock, anger, frustration, and indignation could be heard all over the island as the Wanderers fled as fast as they could.
The viewers, who were watching from the safety of their homes, couldn't help but gasp and shudder as they looked at the beautiful sorceress hovering high above the island.
Her fiery wings and purple hair fluttered in the breeze, making her look like an angel of war who had descended from the heavens.
In contrast, a devilish smile could be seen on her face as she unleashed Fireballs at the forest, burning everything within her sight.
While everyone in the other islands took their time eliminating each other, Erica decided to take a page from Zion's ruthlessness, which he had shown in the lands of Fractured Heaven.
Back then, the teenage boy had started a Forest Fire to force the Ratmen Race to evacuate, allowing the Lizardmen to escape.
Erica, who liked to burn things, thought that this was the most effective strategy to eliminate everyone at the same time!
Why would she bother waiting for everyone to fight when she could just burn the entire island, eliminating everyone except her?
"Damn you, Erica!" Mildred shouted in anger as she ran away in haste, not forgetting to glare at the Sorceress in the sky. "We are on the same side! WE ARE ON THE SAME SIDE!"
Erica pretended to not hear her friend and even threw a fireball in Mildred's direction.
Of course, she didn't intend to hit her friend.
The only thing she did was set the forest behind Mildred on fire, preventing her friend from going anywhere near her.
A mile away from Mildred, two young ladies looked at their friend with irritation.
They were none other than Diana and Shana, who managed to meet up with each other after they started fleeing away from the raging fire.
"She's gone crazy," Diana said in frustration.
Shana nodded. "I remember her telling me about the story when Zion started a Forest Fire in the Fractured Heaven. I think she got this idea from that incident."
"What should we do?" Diana asked. "I can fly, but I can't fight against Erica in aerial battles."
"I can't fight her either. The only thing we can do is go as far as we can and combine our defensive abilities to defend against this disaster.
Diana nodded in agreement because this was indeed the best move that both of them could do.
She and Shana both had defensive abilities that could withstand a forest fire. Even so, it would still be a very taxing task for both of them.
Of course, there were Wanderers who decided to fight Erica in the sky.
However, who was Erica?
Thirteen made sure that she got plenty of battle experience by fighting Sherry and her Adamantine Falcon in the sky, which was resistant to both Magical and Physical attacks.
The Wanderers, who tried to attack her, found themselves being bombarded by Magical Bullets that followed them wherever they went.
Even though their Flying Avatars were fast and nimble in the sky, they were still unable to evade countless magical bullets that rained upon them without mercy.
The representatives of the various families could only sigh helplessly after seeing this scene.
The majority of them had submitted a petition to Zion to ban Erica from flying. However, Zion's response was simple.
"Nothing is stopping any of the other participants from flying, you know?"
It wouldn't be fair to ban someone from flying when it had been iterated that Flying Avatars and other means to Fly were allowed.
This explanation shut down their petitions since none of them could think of a proper comeback, ending the matter then and there.
"Compared to Sherry, you guys are nothing!" Erica laughed like an evil witch. However, her laughter ended when she sensed a projectile speeding in her direction.
A black arrow filled with destructive power headed in her direction, which made Erica sneer.
With a wave of her hand, she sent a Flaming Spear towards the arrow, which destroyed it instantly at the point of impact.
"Mildred, you traitor," Erica said in a teasing tone. "Aren't we friends? Aren't we allies?"
"Who's your friend?!" Mildred shouted in anger. "Our friendship ends now! Who's your ally? I'm not your ally! Everyone, let's all team up to eliminate that crazy witch first! We can just fight each other later!"
Erica, who heard Mildred's frustrated shout, laughed once more, making Rhia, who was watching from Thirteen's home, imitate her laughter, making Alessia and Remi shake their heads helplessly.
Right now, the entirety of the Wanderers in Island Number 4 set aside all of their differences and formed an alliance!
Thirteen and Sherry, who were both watching this scene, glanced at each other and chuckled at the same time.
The teenage boy was quite satisfied with Erica's strategy, but she also worried about her future at the same time.
Setting the forest ablaze in the world of GANDAM is fine.
However, if she did that in Pangea or Solterra, the consequences would be dire.
'I need to have a proper talk with her later so that she will not become addicted to burning forests,' Thirteen thought. 'If she tells everyone that she got this idea from me, they'll definitely think I instigated her to do this in the tournament.'
Since Erica was close to Thirteen, some were already suspicious that he might have a hand in this incident.
As the flames in the forest spread far and wide, the places where the Wanderers could hide also drastically decreased.
The island was also slowly sinking due to the high tide, making everyone feel that they were stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Behind them was the sea, and in front of them was a raging fire.
The sea had Rank 7 Sovereigns patrolling it, and Thirteen had hinted that any Wanderer who entered the sea would be immediately attacked by them.
Mildred, who managed to see Shana and Diana, decided to join their group and seek shelter in the barrier that both of them conjured.
The three ladies were all itching to give Erica some peace of mind, but they also knew that now was not the time and place to do it.
Unfortunately, not all Wanderers had powerful defensive abilities and skills like Shana and Diana.
Erica wasn't just mindlessly throwing fireballs left and right.
No, she was trapping the Wanderers by throwing fireballs not only at the center of the forest but also at the edges. This created a hellish environment for the other participants, making them unable to find a safe haven. Everywhere they looked, the Sorceress made sure that the only thing they would see was fire.
Of course, Erica had shown a bit of mercy to her friends and didn't attack the barrier that Shana and Diana had erected.
But except for them, she destroyed everyone else's, making her rivals burn out in a blaze of glory.
