Chapter 214
Chapter 214
214 Mama bear to the rescue
Zi Han grimaced from the pain but he continued speaking, “They aren’t on the market yet but my grandfather sort of like funded the project and gave everyone in the Bloodgarde one. That means every weapon issued to the Bloodgarde can’t be used by anyone outside that circle.”
“This means that I also get one by default. Sure it wasn’t allowed to bring weapons not issued by the military to Dark Star but this,” he said picking it up from the ground, “managed to slip through the cracks so yuh.... something like this would definitely happen.”
The man lay there bleeding out from his neck that had been shot through. Zi Han took out an epipen-like injector and spun it in between his fingers while saying, “I can save you. You just have to tell me who sent you.”
The man’s dimming eyes glanced at him as his muscles jerked slightly. The man looked away with a vicious gaze before whispering, “Fuck.... you.”
Zi Han, “???”
The man thought he would just die like this. Die peacefully with no regrets. He had no doubts that soon Zi Han would also die which meant he would have fulfilled his task.
But what peaceful death? Zi Han’s expression turned ferocious as he pulled him up by the back of his collar and stabbed the dagger straight into his shoulder.
The dagger was laced with a drug called Qual. This is what the sand people called it and when translated to the common interstellar tongue it meant excruciating physical and mental pain. It was a sharp gut-wrenching pain that seeped through one’s bone slicing every inch of his flesh.
The man’s face turned grim with the veins on his neck and temples thumping on the verge of bursting. His muscles tensed up as he clenched his jaw foaming at the mouth while suffering through the pain.
.....
Zi Han didn’t let go of the dagger. Instead, he tightened his grip and twisted it making the man growl in pain as he weakly reached over to grab the dagger.
Zi Han who was kneeling behind him held his arms down and whispered like a devil in his ear, “I don’t need you to tell me who it is because I will find out soon enough,” his pupils flashing a red color like bright embers burning in the middle of the night.
Zi Han harshly withdrew his dagger and as he wiped the blood on the man’s clothes he said, “You can fuck with me all you want but you can’t fuck with the future Marshal.”
After saying this he shoved the man’s body away. Zi Han saw a badge sewn on the arm of the man’s suit and tore it off before studying it carefully. Thinking it would be very important to identify this man he kept it.
The man powerlessly fell to the side. He knew he was going to die but he was terrified Zi Han would make him suffer even more before that. Thus he tried to crawl away but he didn’t even manage to move due to the pain. He was just scratching the ground with his fingers and even then he thought he was getting away.
Zi Han struggled to get up and when he did he staggered a little. After steadying himself he kicked the man while holding on to his abdomen. The man’s body rolled to the edge of the cliff but he didn’t fall. With half his arm dangling at the cliff he let out pained cries and whimpers like a wounded animal.
Zi Han sneered before turning around to leave. Unfortunately for him his body finally gave in. As though he had taken a misstep he tripped and fell backward. Groaning in pain he lay on his side breathing cautiously and laboriously. With his trembling hand, he grabbed the epipen-like device from his interspatial storage and bit off the needle cover.
He spat out the blue cap and tremblingly pulled down the zip of his suit. He stabbed the needle into his shoulder making him grunt while biting his lower lip.
“Mmmmmmmh....,” he let out a muffled groan as he curled on the ground, “fuck.”
A click sound echoed in the silent atmosphere and Zi Han loosened his grip on the device and collapsed on the ground his eyes watery.
“I want,..... I want to be a fuckin rice weevil.... from mmmmmh.... from now on..... shit,” he swore and groaned while trying to get up but his efforts were futile. He decided to lay down here for a second. His heartbeat gradually slowed and with a drowsy appearance, he closed his eyes.
As he drifted off into the unknown he felt his body was being moved by something but his eyelids were so heavy that he couldn’t even open them. From a distance, he could hear whispers but no matter how hard he tried he couldn’t make out what they were saying.
Meanwhile, Zi Xingxi was losing her mind trying to get to her son. His vitals were very concerning that she dropped everything and rushed over. By the time she finally got there her son had disappeared and his tracking signal was gone.
His heartbeat had gone back to normal and he seemed safe and not in distress but where was he? In her anger, Zi Xingxi kicked the man lying at the edge of the cliff but his body had long gone cold. He was dead already and her son had killed him.
“Check his identity,” said Zi Xingxi while rubbing her forehead a little concerned. She should have just dragged him into the Bloodgarde. At least her heart wouldn’t be this anxious.
“Ma’am.... he is the leader of the interstellar pirate group Rigger. I remember we blew up his fleet ten years ago,” said secretary K a little worried.
This man didn’t die with his crew but he was jailed in the most secure prison in the federation yet here he was dead on Dark Star after having failed to kill Zi Han.
“Those fuckers. One of them seems to have grown a pair of big balls. Since they dared lay a hand on him then it’s only natural I teach them a lesson,” she said in a menacing voice that sent shivers down secretary K’s spine.
Meanwhile, Evan and the rest of the team were running across the forest howling and screaming with the sound of explosions echoing throughout the entire landscape. Who could blame them? That herd was made out of over a hundred mauve creatures.
