Chapter 1137

“Seriously, what’s your beef with Georgia? Why can’t you stand her?” Angelina was at her wits’ end

with him.

“It’s simple, I just don’t like her. She’s so skinny, like a walking skeleton. Every time I see her,

something inside me just recoils,” Alaric complained, looking visibly annoyed.

“And what’s your type, then?”

“I like a girl with some curves, a bit on the plush side, and cute,” Alaric said off the top of his head.

“Do you even have a girlfriend like that? If she’s a decent girl, I wouldn’t give you any grief if you settled

down with her,” Angelina went with his words, betting that he was just making excuses.

“Of course, I do. And things between us are great,” Alaric asserted.

“Then why were you hitting on girls at the bar just now?” Angelina shot back.

“That was just because we had a little fight. I was trying to get a rise out of her,” Alaric blurted out

without thinking.

“Really? And who is she? Does she even exist? I’m genuinely curious,” Angelina crossed her arms and

smirked at him, ready to catch him in his lie.

“Just wait here, I’ll go find her,” Alaric said and turned towards the bar.

Angelina was left speechless. She thought the mystery woman was elsewhere. Why the bar, of all

places?

Sipping on a juice she mistook for a cocktail, Hertha sat sulking, oblivious to her error. Suddenly, a

large presence took the seat beside her, and a familiar figure entered her line of sight.

Turning her head, she saw Alaric’s devilishly handsome face, his usually mischievous eyes now

showing a rare seriousness. He reached over and snatched the juice from Hertha’s grasp.

“Why are you stealing my cocktail?” Hertha instinctively reached out her hand to snatch the drink.

“Is this alcohol? Are my eyes deceiving me, or are yours?” Alaric retorted.

Hertha, ready to get mad, glanced at the drink in his hand-Thalassa’s juice she had been drinking-and

deflated, unable to vent her frustration.

“I need to talk to you for a sec,” Alaric said, setting down the juice glass.

After speaking, he got up and headed for a private booth in the bar.

Hertha, puzzled, looked at the direction Alaric had gone and then back at Thalassa for guidance.

“Go on, I’ll wait here for you,” Thalassa encouraged, fully aware of Hertha’s curiosity. Despite her

badmouthing Alaric, Thalassa knew Hertha hadn’t entirely let go of him.

“I’ll see what he wants. Wait for me, I’ll be right back,” Hertha said, saving face for herself before

following Alaric to the booth.

There were just the two of them inside the booth, and the atmosphere was quiet enough for a serious

conversation.

Alaric leaned casually against the back of his chair and said to Hertha, “So you were making fun of me

earlier, huh?”

“What do you want? To settle the score? I wasn’t the only one mocking you. You gonna pick a fight with

everyone in the bar?” Hertha replied, her nervousness causing her to inch backward. With Thalassa

around, she could mouth off to Alaric, but alone with him, she felt intimidated by his masculine aura and

didn’t dare to be so bold.

“I won’t hassle you-as long as you agree to do me a favor,” Alaric said, arms crossed and looking

determined.

“What favor?” Hertha asked instinctively.

“Pretend to be my girlfriend and come home with me to meet my grandfather,” Alaric revealed his plan.

“What?” Hertha gasped, eyes widening in shock.
