Chapter 1213

“Susan, what the heck are you saying?” Bruce’s voice was tinged with a mix of frustration and dismay

as he reacted to Susan’s harsh words.

“Isn’t it true though? Neither of you can give me what I want, and you just drag me down! I’m fed up

with both of you!” Susan yelled before storming back upstairs.

With a loud slam, she shut the door of her room, her sobs muffled within its confines.

Susan’s parents had no clue about where the two hundred thousand had come from. It was the money

that she had paid her own price for in humiliation!

That glaring yet precious money didn’t just fail to multiply under her parents’ care. It vanished in days,

as if her youth had been gambled away with it.

No one could fathom the agony and rage churning in her heart.

Seeing Susan’s outburst, Bruce and Lucy exchanged a look of silent understanding. With a snort,

Bruce retreated to his study.

After crying her eyes out, Susan caked on makeup to hide her puffy eyes and headed to the hospital.

In the hospital’s dressing room, Callum Gordon just had the cast removed from his leg. The doctor

advised, “You’ll still need crutches for a few months. Try not to put weight on the injured leg. After two

to three months of rest, you should be walking on your own.”

“Thank you, Doctor,” Callum replied, his voice gentle and polite.

“You’re welcome,” said the doctor, smiling in return.

“Congrats, Mr. Gordon, on getting that cast off. Must feel good to lighten the load,” S said as she

walked in, smiling. She handed him a bag of nutrients, “Heard you were getting your cast off today, so I

thought I’d drop by.”

Callum glanced at the gifts in her hand-she was well-prepared, wasn’t she?

“What do you want, Susan?” Callum asked bluntly, not in the mood for small talk.

Taking the initiative, Susan sat down and faced him. “Do you remember what you said to me outside

the Draven International Hotel, Mr. Gordon? If I wanted to win over Lysander, you could help me,

right?”

A subtle ripple disturbed the serenity in Callum’s eyes, his mouth curling into an amiable smile. “After

such a good chance at the hotel, you still haven’t managed to snag Lysander?”

Mentioning that night paled Susan’s complexion. She had failed to seize the moment, failed to enchant

Lysander, losing not only her chance but also her confidence in seduction.

It was a humiliation for her.

Anyone else would have faced her wrath for bringing it up, but she needed something from Callum-so

no matter how it hurt, she bit her tongue.

“Lysander’s no easy mark. Even if drugged, he won’t give in unless he wants to. The only way is for

him to willingly be with a woman. I believe you have the skills to make that happen, Mr. Gordon. That’s

why I’m here,” Susan said.

“I did say I could help, but I never enter a losing deal. I have my conditions,” said Callum, his affable

smile never waning.

Yet, in the shift of his gaze, warmth turned to frost.

Susan frowned, “What conditions?”

Money was tight for her. Could she meet Callum’s demands?

“You need to sabotage the relationship between Thalassa and Lysander, making them break up,”

Callum stated.
