Chapter 502 Datar On The Defense

Chapter 502 Datar On The Defense

A few hours after the reinforcements arrived at Fort Bender, the very thing that the major forces of the world had been dreading finally came knocking on their doors.

The sky turned red and a wind picked up. Warnings were issued in all major settlements around the world. The citizens of kingdoms were herded into shelters. Those in villages on the outskirts who had not moved to the cities or more protected towns could do little but seek shelter in their homes.

The soldiers of Empires and Kingdoms manned their posts with hardened expressions on their faces. They were facing the crisis of their lives. Whatever happened here would be written down in history and would make this eternal.

The red sky reflected down on the world, giving it an edge. People who saw this all feared for themselves.

Jet Armstrong stood along his family as they watched the sky from within the cover of the protective barrier that wrapped around the Armstrong Mansion like a transparent bubble.

"Whatever Leon is facing up there is a hundred times worse than what we will face down here." Jet said, his face scrunched up in a frown. He had reached Peak A rank and was trying to gain insight into the Law of Space and the Law of Chaos, two incredibly profound Laws. He had made some progress, but he had to interrupt his meditation to face the trials and tribulations that had been thrust onto the laps of the people of Datar.

"We should be able to handle it. At least, that is what the back up he sent said." Dorian said and turned to the single Undead powerhouse that waited silently behind them. Aristodemus turned in his direction and nodded his head. The Knightly powerhouse was also a Peak A rank and was on the precipice of breakthrough to Godhood after focusing his progression on the Law of Instability.

The Law of Instability was an abstruse Law and one that was incredibly hard to perceive in the first place, not to mention gain insight to. However, to him, it came almost naturally and the effort he needed to put in was not even up to a quarter of what others would need to put in if they wanted to comprehend this obscure Law.

Aristodemus was a veritable powerhouse and very few, even among Leon's elite summon that he had left behind, were able to match up to him. It was something that only a being that had been able to almost crush Leon when they were at the same level, was capable of.

At this time, something finally changed. Massive amounts of Mana and Divine Energy suddenly surged up to concentrated points in the sky all over the world. Some distance away from the Armstrong mansion, in the sky, the same occurrence took place.

The mana and Divine Energy swirled together before creating a swirling red power that gave off frightening waves of oppression. A moment later, a wave of creatures began to pour out of the portals.

Most portals appeared over the largest concentration of life, which ended up being in the skies of Kingdoms and Empires. The soldiers of these places immediately sprung into action and moved to deal with these creatures. Superiors gave their subordinates orders, having already prepared to deal with this to an extent.

The situation would have been much more different if these powers had not been warned of this beforehand. Thankfully, that was not the case, and they were able to put up an appropriate response as soon as the portals appeared.

Powerhouses prepared themselves to move if necessary. They were not taking this worldwide threat as a joke. Various Gods had taken the effort to inform them of this impending crisis, which showed how serious it was.

Surprisingly, one portal appeared in the sky above the ocean. At first, this was a surprise to some Kingdoms that were not in the know, but they soon put two and two together and realized that that must be the location of the Underwater Paradise, Oceabal.

With that, Oceabal, which had remained a hidden entity for a large number of years, was exposed for all to see. However, this was not a problem to Ursula. After all, Oceabal was actually moveable!

Under the sea, an army of Oceabean warriors seated on all sorts of mounts held their weapons and prepared to charge at the wave of creatures that seemed to have been primed to fight in underwater conditions. They watched the monsters fall from the portal and fall through the air to dive into the water.

However, precautions had already been taken to thin out the monsters' numbers before they entered the water.

HUMMM!

The air above the sea buzzed with energy as some hidden formations glowed, revealing a hidden island in the distance.

The surface of the island flashed for a moment before a dense curtain of blue beams shot out, tearing through the wave of creatures and killing a large number of them at once! On the island, some Oceabean soldiers manned some strange formations that powered strange rune covered cannons. They controlled the cannons and after a couple of seconds, the cannons glowed brightly and spat out another curtain of dense beams!

Every few seconds, a dense curtain of light would fire at the falling wave of monsters. However, the ones sending the creatures were not fools. After a minute of doing so and thinning out the horde of creatures, something changed. The creatures were no longer solely aquatic. A bunch of winged creatures poured out from the portal alongside the aquatic ones, but these new ones turned and charged at the island!

The soldiers and powerhouses that had been assigned to protect the island were instantly on guard! They prepared themselves to fight for their lives and quite possibly die!

A portion of the cannons turned from the creatures pouring into the sea and faced those in the sky, rapidly firing weaker beams than before in order to put pressure on the flying creatures.
