The Devil's Sweetheart

Chapter 101 - Phantom Vibration Syndrome

Chapter 101 - Phantom Vibration Syndrome

While Leena was fleeing into Leah's room, her cogitation drifted to the outfit she has to wear for the scavenger hunt game. Instantly she took a detour and dashed into her room again.

Rummaging her closet for nearly an hour, she did not unearth a single acceptable dress and in the process, she turned her room into shambles.

"I can't even get a single outfit out of hundreds. But take your time and come back again, Leena! You should look ravishing and promising than him." Lost interest to explore now, in frustration, she walked out of her room to check on Leah.

....

"I am so bored Leah! I need a vacation. I wish someone would kidnap me so that I could go on an adventure." Grabbing an apple from the table, Leena slumped on the bed tiredly.

"Adventure yeah! That's what I can call when your kidnappers come back alive aftermath." Leah did not want to imagine the state of poor robbers if they get to kidnap Leena by any chance.

"Even Mr.Adonis forewarned the exact words. Am I really powerful?" Leena posed, feeling proud of her achievements.

"Did she think I have applauded her?" In a whisper, Leah gaped.

"You seem very close to him, Leena." Leah started to drift the topic, seemingly tired of her narcissism. "Looks like you do like him a lot?"

The sudden shift in the topic forced a gasp from Leena and the Apple she was eating caught in her throat shortly.

"Relax Leena darling." Patting her back, with a dubious smile, Leah started pestering her again. "So with this, I can assume you do like him right?"

"I_I, get lost, dirty girl. I_I would rather swallow a pillow instead of liking him." She turned her head away to hide the embarrassment.

How long will you mask your feelings miss narcissistic? Leah marveled. She knew Leena loathes man and whenever she asks or brings the topic, her tenor changes into a terrified girl and she would be unwilling to discuss the topic. Since then, Leah has also stopped bringing the subject.

"Alright, Leena! You seem to be a little hampered about it." Leah changed the course of the topic not to torture her. "I brought dresses for my honeymoon. Can you check if they look good on me?" Having said that, Leah began trying the dresses.

Leena nodded her head fervently. This is better, instead of an interrogation.

"Why does the honeymoon comes after the wedding? I can't wait anymore for the day I can become together with my baby." Emerging out of the bathroom, Leah twirled showing off her exotic sea-green babydoll dress

"Then why get married if the honeymoon comes before and why the hell is you twirling dirty girl," Leena yelled. Did she think her dress is long enough to swivel? I could see everything from the inside.

"Oopsie! I forgot. Don't mind it, Leena!"

"Putting that aside, are you planning to stick to the bed for the entire honeymoon. I can't see a proper piece of cloth here." Leena asked exploring the dresses. All she could see we're one piece see through clothes. Why did she buy them? She could better go naked instead of wearing them.

"To put it frankly, my baby doesn't like clothes on me, so I have packed little full clothes. Besides, he said that we would be sticking to the bed for one whole month." Leah shyly squealed turning beet red when she recalled Austin's shameless words after he brought the topic of honeymoon.

Leena wanted to puke hearing those cheesy words from her mouth.

"You are speaking as if you haven't done the deed. FYI, he is a playboy, Leah. Didn't he date almost all the women in Seattle?" Leena has hate for womanizers. In her viewpoint, men who refuse to see women as anything but objects are nothing but trash, even if they have other reasons. When she thought of men, Leena's thoughts instantly drifted to him. She wondered how many women he had an intimate relationship with. With his dapper looks, she was sure he would have bedded N number of women.

Don't think about him all the time Leena! Her thoughts broke when Leah recited.

"Don't call him a playboy, Leena. Besides, we haven't done the deed yet and we are still waiting for our first time." Leah's cheeks flushed to answer her question.

Despite Austin was a Casanova in the past, Leah knew he had never taken the relationship to another level with any other woman, and right after they got together, he has never sought after any woman and that was the honesty and respect he has shown to their relationship.

"Madam pinkness. Enough with your blushing. Let's get into the business."

"I can see your skin has become a little coarse when you wore those see-through outfits. You need better skincare products, Leah. Are you even moisturizing your body?" Leena asked.

"Is it?" Looking at the skin, Leah felt a little rough when she touched her back." Then can you recommend a good brand? I will ask mom to order them right now."

"The stock is very limited and by the time it comes to Seattle, you will be back from the honeymoon also. I have ample of products. Go and check out my bathroom. You will find all my skincare products in the case."

"I am not familiar with the cupboard, Leena! Can you please get them? I am dog-tired." Leah dragged her body and collapsed on the bed.

"I am so tired that even my tiredness is tired," Leena replied in a sapped voice.

The room was just next to them but still, both were reluctant to move an inch of their body.

"I have an idea to get them here without any efforts," Leena said.

"What's that?"

"Call my bunky and ask him to get it. He must have arrived home already." Leena tipped her head to the side and winked at her.

"You are right, Leena! Why didn't I get the idea at first?"

"Isn't it obvious? There is no one born in this world to knock my intelligence power." She proudly stamped again.

There she goes again. Isn't she tired of putting forth her narcissism every time? Leah marveled. There is no point in talking with her. It's better to call Vincy than speaking any other word with her.

Grabbing her mobile, Leah made a call to Devin.

"What?" His voice had that crisp edge to it again when he spoke.

"Ummm...actually" Leah hesitated a little to ask. "I need the Skincare products which are handy in your bathroom. Can you get them to my room right away?"

"It's just a room away. Get it by yourself." Devin tried to cut the call but Leah interrupted.

"Please Vincy."

"I am very busy_"

"It's for your sweetheart," Leah whispered in a low voice when Leena began listening to the conversation intently.

"I will be there in two minutes." Just when Leena's name was called, Devin took a three-sixty degree turn. Cutting the call, he immediately went into the business.

He stepped into the bathroom and began rummaging all the containers, but he soon found them empty.

"Where did she keep them. Everything looks empty."

When Devin was not turning up for a long time, he got a call again. The moment he lifted the call, a sense of slight disturbance occurred in the place he was standing. He just snubbed the feeling thinking it is some sort of phantom vibration syndrome which he gets usually.[1]

"What's taking you so long?" Leah asked.

"Pass on the phone to my darling quickly." He interrupted.

When Leah passed on the mobile, Leena got a little nervous, for it was the first time she would be speaking to him.

Even after sticking the mobile on to her ear, Leena quietly stared at the floor without speaking. She did not know how to start the conversation with him right at the moment.

Sensing her hesitation, Devin took the initiation.

"Where did you keep your skincare products, Miss pervert?"

"I am not a pervert shameless idiot, unlike you," Leena argued. The moment his teasing started, Leena instantly brought the inner self.

"Is it? Then why did you ask for my banana all night_"

"My products are on the top shelf." Leena cut off when he started explaining the night activities she did with him.

"Why did you keep them in the top cabinets leaving the bottom ones empty?" Devin wondered if she is jumping on to the rack every time she wants to use them.

"I_I thought you will use my products."  Hesitantly Leena answered in a whisper.

"What? Do I look like some pervert who goes after girl products? I will get back to you later." He cut off the call in the middle leaving Leena in remorse.

Soon Devin leaped onto the rack and opened the top case, where he found her skincare products. Just when he was getting down, he got a call again.

"What now? Is she feeling guilty?" Devin smiled and lifted the call, but even before he could speak, he felt the same sensation, the signal tampered at the same spot. But rather it was intense unlike before.

"What's wrong? Does my mobile have a problem or is it something else? But it can't be my phantom vibration syndrome again." Devin was sure there is something more to it. It can't be a coincidence twice.

He could sense there is a kind of radio frequency signal which is intruding with his phone signals earlier but the differing is getting intense at a certain place and position.

He cut off Leena's call coming up with some excuse and immediately called Andrew's number hanging in the same position. He wanted to confirm if the worst case he is thinking could be true.

When the call got connected and Drew began speaking, Devin felt the signal intrusion again with the same vigor and he discerned what exactly is happening here.

Stunned, he was speechless for a long moment when the realization hit him.
