Chapter 107 - Sandra Campbell
Chapter 107 - Sandra Campbell
Austin scurried to the room to deliver the news which would be a breakthrough to their case.
"You are late, Austin. We have been waiting_"
"I met Wendy while I was coming back from the garden," Austin shared his findings, getting settled in a chair.
"You should have hit her pea-sized brain. Maybe it would work properly then afterward." Jasper demurred.
"She is not the culprit if my intuition is accurate. I have passed by her room to check on the AC and it is indeed not in a good condition. According to her, the technician did not enter to examine the AC." Austin explained.
"If she is not the one, this appears to be a misleading notion. Besides, there was a stalker spying on you, Vincy. What if, it's the stalkers doing?" Jasper asked turning towards Devin.
"It's not the stalker. If I am not wrong, they are lying low since I got to know about their activities." Devin already received the information that the servant who was stalking him has no sort of connection to the technician who has come to repair the AC's and the man in question is nowhere to be found now. He has a strong premonition that he is in hiding. It's of no use getting a hands-on the scum when he knew, he doesn't get any kind of useful information.
"Then, we got to rule out Wendy and the outside person at least," Austin concluded.
"We have no time to discuss it now. Switch on the jammers first." Devin got up from his seat to walk away.
"I was actually surprised by your idea of seizing everyone's mobiles at a time Vincy. How did you come up with it?" Jasper asked.
"I am drinking lots of banana smoothies." In a deadpanned voice he started and walked out.
"He is smitten by her," Jasper said, shaking his head.
"Weren't you the same in school?" Austin asked with a triumphant smile provoking his bottom line. Hearing Austin's words, Jasper halted his footsteps abruptly when he remembered the person haunting his dreams.
"I_s she coming for the wedding?" Jasper asked, the question has been lingering on his mind but too scared to ask, for he knew the answer would not be as he expected.
"Even if she comes, she would run away after seeing you here." Austin laughed glancing at Jasper.
With clenched fists not to choke the man in front of him, Jasper quickly left the room.
...
Switching the Jammer's power button, Austin checked using his mobile to test if the signals are blocked. In a flash, the mobile signals were shut down and Devin entered into the bathroom and scanned for the movement of the cameras and when he could not discern the red light signals, he gently pulled out the device from a flower pot. Except for an alphabet craved on the outer rim, there was nothing on the device when Devin began examining. Jasper and Austin also peeked into the small device to find a clue.
"Bastards! They have planned out everything perfectly." Jasper grumbled. Since it is an anonymous brand, they could not get any information on the person who has bought a spy camera. That's the reason, Devin has put an effort to hijack the mobiles to stop the working of the camera and to check for the brand but all went in vain.
"I guess I have seen this somewhere! There is a place in Seattle where local electronic equipment is sold. It's the hub for junk devices. We can_"
"Let's go then. We can come back and put the camera into the safe again. Until we return, keep the mobiles safe." Devin didn't want to leave any possibility until he finds the criminal even if he has to reach the other end of the world.
"You sure want to come? You are a celebrity after all. What if someone snaps you_"
"I can manage." Nothing is more important until he gives her justice and he swore to drag the criminal in front of her.
"Then I will wait outside the house," Austin said, walking out of the room.
...
Stuffing the things in the trunk they needed for, Austin closed the trunk, and before he could pull out the keys from the rift, his mobile ringed. Seeing his baby's name, he forgot everything and moved a little far away from his position to talk with her without knowing he has given access for someone to enter the car trunk.
"Bastards. They are scheming behind my back." Within seconds, the car trunk was opened and closed. He breathed a sigh of relief when he got successfully settled in the car until it opened again and a person entered into his eyes startling him.
Both stared for a while in shock. Just now they were playing the games and at the same time watching Austin, Jasper, and Devin's movements. Both excused in the name of water when they sensed the three dumbheads were moving out of the house.
"What are you doing here," Drew whispered lending space to her.
"What about you?" She shrieked in a low voice ascending onto the trunk.
"They are plotting something big. I am here to stop them." Drew explained.
"I got the same feeling. Let's catch them red-handed." Leena said.
Since it was a tiny area, both were suffocated to death but still endured the pains to catch the culprits red-handed.
Without knowing there were already two guests in the car, Austin and Jasper started bitching about them.
"You should have seen those two monkeys playing 'kick the can' game. I wanted to throw up watching their silly antics." Austin cackled. Even though he was in the garden for a short while, he still watched the funny stunts Leena and Drew were pulling. While everyone was engrossed in a little mature game, like a pick the odd one out, they choose a kids game.
"That was hilarious I must say. I experienced a circus effect watching those two running behind each other. If they are put in a zoo, they can go on par with the other animals and they are enough to entertain the whole crowd." Jasper cackled up when he began recalling their faces.
"Bastards, they are bitching on us." Drew clenched his fists to control his rage.
"I will make mincemeat of the two when I get down." Gritting her teeth, Leena muttered but her thoughts halted when she heard a familiar voice supporting her.
"Enough," Devin yelled which made Austin and Jasper instantly shut their mouths. "Don't you have any work other than talking bad about her?"
Hearing his words, Leena shyly grinned thinking that her Mr. Adonis has come to her rescue. But then Drew glared daggers at Leena when he was left alone with cursings but Leena was least bothered.
...
After two hours of driving, they reached the destination. The three got down from the car and walked a little in the crowded area to reach the shop. Devin instantly covered his face with a mask but it was of no use. His aura alone was enough, everywhere he stepped, he garnered attention.
Austin guided them to a small shop. Despite the place was shabby, it is the most famous one for buying local electronic devices and junk at a cheaper rate. He got to know about it through a friend when he faced a similar kind of situation.
The moment Devin stepped into the shabby shop, he instantly covered his mouth despite he was in a mask when the smell around the room was disgusting enough to nauseate. Hearing the footsteps a middle-aged man walked opening the filthy curtain.
"How can I help you, sir?" He politely greeted sensing a wealth smell from the three.
"Can you check if the camera was bought from your shop?" Handing a device, Austin asked.
Examining the instrument, he checked for the alphabet and even recalled the person who paid for the spy camera. "It is indeed from our shop."
"That's good to hear. Can you provide the information of the person who purchased it?" Austin asked.
"My lips are seized, boy. I cannot disclose any_"
Before he could finish, stacks of bills were thrown on his table by Devin.
"Smart boy!! Money speaks louder here." The man laughed eerily showing his crooked teeth. Since he doesn't sell the branded items and his shop includes illegal things, he doesn't maintain a database, instead, he records everything in a book. He has a record of rich customers visiting his shop to buy the spy cameras for their pleasures and he seized the chance. They throw him money to shut his mouth and he was obliged to do it. Discerning their outfits, his greed for money heightened and he thought he could earn the fortune again. So he went for it not realizing his doom was arriving soon.
"Now that you got what you wanted, make it fast." Devin was getting nauseated to stand in the disgusting place.
He grinned and nodded his head rapidly. Adjusting his broken glass, He pulled out a book from the drawer and checked for the alphabet which has exactly matched with the device and there was a name in the other column.
Finally, the man looked up, and when he enunciated the name Austin was stunned.
"Sandra Campbell."
Devin and Jasper stood there clueless of the name, for they have never heard it before or they knew of the person.
"That's impossible." Austin grabbed the book and searched the name likewise but it was indeed her name 'Sandra Campbell'.
To get it confirmed for one last time, Austin opened a picture on his mobile and showed it to the man to verify.
"Exactly! She is the one. I don't forget beautiful faces, sir." He grinned gazing at the woman in the picture.
His words made Austin thunderstruck for a moment and he couldn't believe it is her.
