The Devil's Sweetheart

Chapter 160 - Whistle Sound Followed By A Big Banana

Chapter 160 - Whistle Sound Followed By A Big Banana

Despite Wilbur demanded to talk in person, as if he didn't heed to, Devin was strolling into the room.

"Where are you going, Vincy? I want to talk with you." Wilbur insisted. Didn't he hear what I said? Did he turn into benumb after falling in love with Leena?

"I am going to a shower in. our. bedroom." Devin enunciated the last three words palpably thinking that Wilbur would catch the whiff.

"A_re you both living together?" Wilbur could only stammer out with the sudden cognizance. Although living together and dating is common in the modern world, but when it comes to his sister, he is a little strict considering her past events. He was scared that Francis would chop him into pieces if word goes out and before that he made a note of it to talk about Devin and Leena. He has already informed Wilbur that he has set eyes on some other person for Leena but now Devin has come into the picture and with the way Leena was acting, she is definitely in love with Devin. Wilbur knew Francis would not agree easily, but he would eventually give in. After all, Leena is the apple of his eye.

"Of course, we are living together," Devin said as a matter of fact although it's not true. He was finding it tougher every day without seeing Leena. Since she was not ready to stay with him, he took a bigger decision of staying with her. But that brat didn't agree and she has only allowed staying for one day. But that did not mean he would leave the opportunity to brag when she was not here. "Give me some time. I will be back." Having said that Devin walked into the bedroom blowing Wilbur's mind again.

"Both are acting like husband and wife. Even when I was in a relationship with Jane, I have never exhibited such shameless behavior." He mumbled and strode to the sofa and wait for him.

Wilbur was counting the time waiting for his friend. He stretched his body and even took a small nap but Devin hasn't arrived.

"Are they going for a quickie? Did they already go far in their relationship?" Wilbur was contemplating whether to go and knock on their bedroom. When Devin was not appearing for a long time, he decided to go and check on them. When he was almost to the point of knocking on the door, it was opened from the other end and appeared his friend.

"What took you so long?" He asked taking notice of his attire. "You didn't get fresh still?"

"You know about my sweetheart right? She takes an eternity to get fresh. Until she comes, I can't go."

"Then what were you doing sitting in the room for two hours?" Wilbur chided despite knowing it was useless. "We could have talked by then. I was sitting uninhabited all alone in the house."

"Sorry Will. I forgot about you." He said and walked into the other room before he recited. "Wait for a while. I will be back."

"He forgot two decades of friendship now." Wilbur scowled.

Finally, after a while, Devin came back and straight away went into the kitchen. "What do you want to talk about? Can you be a little quick? I have to cook breakfast for my sweetheart. She can't resist hunger.

Wilbur has been seeing Devin since childhood and he knew Devin's cooking skills. Even if he has to boil water, the kitchen would get into chaos. But right now, he doesn't have any words to speak seeing him taking extra care in preparing everything his sister likes. Even if Francy becomes angst with their relationship, Wilbur wanted to fight for these two. He was certain that he couldn't bring a man like Devin for Leena even if he goes to the other world.

"Since Leena is not here, I am going to ask you one quick question," Wilbur said. He tried to subdue the thought but still, the thought was lingering in his mind.

"What is it?" Devin peeled the bananas and added them to the blender along with the dry fruits which he soaked yesterday.

"Do you still like that girl?" Wilbur asked.

"Which girl?" Devin frowned pausing for a moment.

"You remember the day when we got together with our friends in my flat after a long time?" Wilbur continued when he sensed that Devin was listening to his words despite he was working on the food. "You told me that you liked a girl when you were dead drunk. Do you still like her? Don't pretend that you are not aware of it. I want an answer today because I don't want my sister to get hurt in the future." Wilbur cursed himself for not asking more about that girl on that day.

"I don't know what you are talking about, Will," Devin remembered he got dead drunk on that day which he rarely does but talking about another girl and claiming that he loves her, he can't accept it. He has never loved anyone in the past until Leena came. "If you are bothered by it, let me tell you. You might have mistaken. I have never loved anyone in the past. My love is only Leena."

"But_"

"Will!" Devin commanded. "Please don't bring this topic in front of Leena and create discrepancies between us." Devin interrupted. She is already feeling insecurities although he tried to assure her and now if this topic is brought up, she would run away from him.

"Alright. " Wilbur added. "Do you know about her accident?"

"I only know a part of it." Devin curtly replied. He now understood why he couldn't see her at Wilbur's wedding. She must have been recovering from the accident when Wilbur got married suddenly.

"Do you want to know about it fully?" Wilbur asked. As a brother, he has to tell him about her past and it's up to Devin to take it further.

"Don't. I am positive that she would confess it one day." Leena already told him that she would talk about it. He wanted her to trust in him completely and open up freely when she is comfortable.

"Take care of her. She has suffered a lot in the past. By now you would have known her craziness and narcissism. I hope you don't mind."

"I love that part of her. No. I love everything about her. Don't worry. She is in my protection and nothing can harm her as long as I am here. " He reassured.

"I trust in you, Devin."

While they were talking, Leena entered the kitchen freshly showered. As soon as she came, Devin handed her a banana smoothie. He has blended it mixing all the dry fruits. Since she is a vegan, he was making sure that she gets the proper nutrients in every food she eats.

"How long you gonna take a shower?" Wilbur scolded his sister.

"One and a half-hour of soaking my body, one hour of washing my hair, half n hour in deep thoughts about the origin of life and universe, and half n hour for making tough decisions in life." Leena took a long breath after clamoring everything in one go. "So the calculation is apt right?"

"You never leave that crazy tag. I am glad that you found someone who can tolerate you." Wilbur chuckled and turned to Devin. "I forgot to ask. When and how you met her?"

"Well, our first meeting was in the bathro_"

Leena whisked towards Devin and held the hem of his shirt, silently threatening him not to talk about that matter. It was such an embarrassing meeting for both and she can't even tell this to anyone if asked in the future and Devin is shamelessly talking about it. She wished she would have met him somewhere but it can't be rewritten.

Even their meeting has transpired crazily just like Leena and Leena blamed her brother. Had he not called, she wouldn't have entered the bathroom.

It's not to settle on that matter. She has to take charge of it otherwise, Devin would embarrass in front of his brother completely. "Let me take the opportunity to tell you about our first meeting, brother. Just like my crazy brain, even our meeting went crazy."

"Is it? Interesting. Then I should listen." Wilbur was excited to know about it. Even Devin was looking forward to the fabricated story she would add up now.

"Reese and uncle Pumpkin dragged me to a trek and I was very tired at some point in time. I was feeling hungry and I wanted to eat a banana. The bananas which I packed were stolen by monkeys and I couldn't find any shop in that forest."

Seeing that they are listening to her intently, Leena continued. "I was sitting there all alone feeling very sad, grieving for the lost bananas. Unexpectedly, I heard a sound as clear as a whistle. No, it's music that even the orchestra couldn't play it. I wondered what was that melodious voice which I have never heard before. So I went in search of it."

Devin was at a loss for words. He wanted to knock her brain when he listened to the comparison. He knew where the story is turning into. Crazy girl. Men's doesn't sound like a whistle. Where did she learn this?

"As soon as I walked there, I saw a big stream of liquid flowing in a parabolic path."

"Waterfalls?" Wilbur asked in excitement.

"You are genius brother. Always on the point." Leena giggled and felt proud of herself for fooling her brother again.

"I know it, sister. Continue. It's very interesting and dramatic at the same time."

"Thank you." Leena sheepishly smiled and continued. "I followed the waterfalls and listening to the sounds, I looked up when something caught my attention. There I saw, a big banana hanging onto a tall bod_ a tall tree. I looked further up and finally, next to the tree, I saw_"

"Devin...." Wilbur screamed. He wondered how a banana tree was sitting there but subdued the thought when the story was fascinating.

"Yes," Leena shouted. Both brother and sister high fived each other.

More and more Devin was finding himself at a loss for words. He preferred to take care of cooking instead of listening to her stories.. Even Wilbur seems not to catch her untrue tales just like others.
