The Devil's Sweetheart

Chapter 190 - Suck At Poetry

Chapter 190 - Suck At Poetry

Leena's poetic skills appeared to the surface and before starting the song, she cleared her throat and trailed her fingers over his enthralling face. "My babylicious, why are you so cute?"

"Roses are red

Violets are blue

You have too much fructose from head to toe

Now I can't even kiss you because I have become diabetic."

Leena giggled for vining such a beautiful composition but soon it stopped when she heard a deep husky voice.

"Roses are red

Violet's are blue

you suck at poetry

You better quit your balladry"

Hearing his voice, Leena widened her eyes in shock. Is he awake all the while?

Devin groggily opened his eyes not able to hear her poesy and gazed at her face as fresh as daisies. "Did you start with your crazy feasts in the morning?" He pulled her to his embrace when last night's activities surged into his brain. This was the first time they have become intimate and he was not sure if she enjoyed it or not. He made a note to ask about it.

"It's not crazy, dear babylicious. I am a born poet."

The irony is she doesn't even ask for an opinion. What can he say when she is always full of herself?

"Honestly, the spring poem which I have heard in the DewGarden is better than what I listened to today." He grumbled but that did not go unheard by Leena. "What is that? Spring is coming? Winter is going_"

"Am I hearing? You were in the DewGarden park on that day?" A surprise was apparent on her face. So, the first time they meet was not in the bathroom?

"Yes, my dear sweet girl." Devin squeezed her cheeks. "And I even saw your fighting skills."

"Was I great?" She asked, excited for his opinion. Now, I can build another story instead of waterfalls.

"I am proud of you, Leena. Even in fear, you will never lose strength. Your uniqueness, your craziness, everything about you amaze me. You are just you." His compliment was genuine and she is a one-piece treasured gift in the eyes of Devin.

"Thanks a bunch, babylicious." She sheepishly accepted and nestled closer to him. Both were enjoying their morning moments when a phone call interrupted them. Without breaking from the hug, Devin grabbed his mobile and lifted the call and the smiling face he had before has turned dreary.

Leena curiously heard Devin talking over the phone and the more she heard, the more she felt his voice reeling back. Who has made him lose his temper in the morning?

Once he ended the call and seeing her curious gaze, his usual smile returned not to scare her. "Get ready. I will drop you in the office."

"Are you going somewhere?" She asked. She did not want to probe him but curiosity killed her.

"Seattle. I have a meeting today." Devin simply stated without going into further details.

"Okay." She nodded her head. The place brought lots of memories. A painful one's at first and as if she has tasted bitter for a long time, everything became sweet when he crashed into her life. Brushing the thoughts aside, Leena got up to get ready. As she went, Devin gazed outside with no expression on his face.

Once getting ready, Leena and Devin stepped down the stairs, and after the heartful breakfast, before leaving, she made a promise to Eve that she would visit the home often while grandfather Arthur shamelessly asked to bring a gift for his upcoming birthday.

Devin drove her to the office. Since they have already announced the relationship, Leena wanted to drag him to the office to show off to that gossip Mandy but she skipped the option when he has to travel to Seattle and it eats up a lot of time. "When are you coming back?" She probed. She remembered the last time when he went, he has taken a week and a disaster happened.

"Fret not, darling. I will be in front of you, tonight." He reassured. Leena hummed in reply and hugged him for one last time before stepping down the car.

Only when Leena left the place, he started the car to have a meet with the person.

...

The enormous room was exceptionally silent except for the clock's ticking sound. A man sitting in the room was getting impatient by each second for keeping him waiting. Just then a man entered the meeting room but the person he expected to see was not the one he wanted to see.

"Do you want any_"

"Quit your formalities, Mr. William Akers. I am not here to listen to your pomposities. How long it takes for him to arrive." His voice had a mocking edge as he spoke. It was not only an insult to the person but he was also insulting the company. "Doesn't your company follow timings?"

"You are ahead of the meeting, Mr.Davies." He politely said. He is not able to withstand his temper but still, he did not voice out. "We still have one more minute left for the meeting and our executive_"

Just then the sound of footsteps echoed into the meeting room and William halted his words all of a sudden. "He has arrived and I must say, he is always on time, unlike others."

Ethan gritted his teeth in vex. It was clear that he was mocking him but he kept his thoughts aside for now when he has been anticipating meeting the person who has been advising Wang Industries to reach the pinnacles. Although he has come here for a meet, he was silently planning to poach him to his side even if he demands billions. Money did not matter to him for he can acquire it through one single project. When the door was pushed open, except for his breathing, he couldn't hear anything. Ethan eagerly looked up and when he was the man, there was only a black expression on his face.

"I hope I am on time for the meeting, Mr.Davies." Devin strolled into the room authoritatively.

The familiar voice made his senses go numb for the moment. Ethan was stunned to the core. Was he seeing things? Why is his enemy, Wang Devin, standing in front of him? He had the sources told that Devin is just a board member in the company. Had he come here purposefully to have a fight knowing that I am here?

"I am here to only meet the financial advisor and I purposefully stated in the mail and your CEO has agreed to it." Ethan turned his attention to William and spoke up. His voice was gravelly trying to control his temper.

"Well, you are right Mr.Davies and the person sitting in front of you is the sole advisor of the Wang industries." William enunciated each word.

Ethan's face turned pale as if a bombshell was dropped, his body turned stiff.
