Chapter 35 - Dog's Birthday
Chapter 35 - Dog's Birthday
Half an hour before.
The warmth of the certain comforter was making Leena sleep peacefully for a longer time than she expected. After a long stretch, she stirred from her sleep when she was hearing the noises from the crowd. Slightly opening her eyes, Leena drowsily looking at her sides to sink in the place she is currently present. Finally, her gaze landed on the blanket where her body was securely wrapped when she did not even put it in the first place. Who did it? She brushed off that thought when her stomach made a loud rumble. Yay! I am famished again. She wanted to stretch her body like she always did after waking up, but her hands could not even move rooting to the place. She looked at the outline of her blanket only to find it was strongly held by a tight held under it.
In a flash, she swiftly removed her blanket only to find her right hand was securely entwined together by a strong and firm hand tightly.
Leena watched their hands with an open mouth with confusion written all over her face. How did this happen? Was it him or me? If it is me, he will definitely use this to tease forever this time.
Shuddered at the thought, she tried to unclasp their hands quickly, but Devin was holding it tightly as if he wouldn't let it go even in his sleep. Why are his hands so big and strong?
Using all her strength, she pried open each finger patiently with her other arm and gasped a long puff of air when she successfully unravelled them as if it was her biggest mission. She kept on scolding him continuously for having a body as strong as an athlete until she completed her task before giving an annoyed stare to him.
"Why is this shameless man attractive in all the angles!" She pulled his hair roughly expecting a chunk of fallen follicles only to be disappointed in getting nothing in return. She noticed beads of sweat forming on his forehead wondering if he is feeling hot. Leena gazed up to see the air vent was completely turned off. Opening the vent, she Lowered the temperature accordingly and draped a blanket around him incase if he feels cold after a while without thinking about the things she was doing to him.
Puffing her cheeks, she felt her energy completely drained out after investing everything on him. She ordered juice before opening her tablet to resume the series she was watching it before. She tried to concentrate on the show but couldn't do it when something was bothering her. Finally, she peeked at his face when she couldn't control her curiosity.
"What kind of face creams and exfoliators he is using? His skin is flawlessly glowing and he doesn't even have single pores." Keenly looking at him, she mumbled and pulled his hair again out of anger only to notice his hair was as smooth as for her hands to touch. I hate him!
Leena looked at her hands contemplating over the idea that was popping in her mind continuously. She finally gave up and submitted her ordeal to the angel and the devil in her for their judgement but obviously went on with the devil's opinion while her angel wondered why to ask her in the first place when she already had decided her answer.
Leena brushed off her complaints. Watching him sleep for some time, she decided. Just get that damn thing done fast before he wakes up Leena!
She poked his arm first and when he did not even budge, her confidence increased and like a cat, she slowly went near his face and raised her hand to touch, but her mind became blank suddenly.
"What are you doing?" His deep voice rumbled piercing into her eyes.
Opening his eyes, Devin was momentarily dazed with the sudden turn of events. When a familiar lavender scent approached him, fanning her warm breath against his skin, his breath hitched. He confirmed it must be another one of his dream that he has been getting off her lately. Having only a point not not one percent of the hope that whatever he was imagining was real, he opened his eyes. His throat tightened at the sight of his little kit only a few inches away from his face looking at him with innocence.
"I_I" She stared at him blankly without even opening her mouth, looking at him as if she is a child caught by his mother when she was found eating the mud in the rain.
"I_ I wanted to tell you that today is my dog's birthday." She babbled whatever came to her mind in the instant.
"You could have said it normally." He whispered in a low voice
"I_ I wanted to have a soap opera effect." She whooshed in a whisper when his breath was ticking and sending butterflies all over her body.
"Do you recognize our positions at least now?" She was only a inches away from Devin and one wrong move, he couldn't imagine what they would be doing here. Travelling with her was pure torture for him right from the moment she stepped on to the plane.
When Leena recognized she has literally toppled on him, she widened her eyes and backed off immediately hitting the wall in the process.
"Owww. My head." She shrieked and bawled like a child.
"Now, now. Don't cry." Devin worriedly reached out his hand and started rubbing her head gently to ease the pain.
"I am not a child." She pouted and tried to strike his hand, but Devin held on to her wrist. Leena did not even complain or repulsed by his touch instead she felt warmth and security.
"That's right. Even children don't drool like you." He chuckled.
"Show me the proof that I drooled." She shamelessly asked and huffed like a child.
"I never knew you are such a big fat liar." He pinched her cheeks when he saw her childish side again.
"Don't touch me." She mumbled looking away to hide her blushing.
"Now that I was harassed by Miss Pervert again, how are you going to compensate me? or should I straight away take you to the police." Devin asked with amusement filled over his face.
"Hey! What are you talking about? We are not strangers at all, in fact, we know each other very well." Leena exclaimed gulping down her saliva. Now that she is sitting with him, she has to play her game carefully otherwise she would definitely end up there.
"Do you think I would_"
"Ladies and gentlemen, we have just been cleared to land at the Seattle Tacoma international airport. Make sure your seat belts are securely tightened for one last time. Thank you." The flight attendant's voice cut down his thoughts. Both looked at each other when it was about to part their ways.
Leena was jumping with joy, Devin, even though he was not ready to part, he did not show it on his face, unlike someone when he knew they would be meeting again.
