The Devil's Sweetheart

Chapter 65 - House Robbery

Chapter 65 - House Robbery

Leah was not going to lie, she was way scared of being exposed so easily to the third person which she had been trying to hide from everyone.

If Leah was appalled, Leena's brain was mulling over only one thing that someone has rambled. Worst plan? He dared to insult my brilliant strategy.

Emerging out of the shadows, he walked towards the two pirates trying to carry out big thievery without knowing they were being followed. What kind of thieves discuss their plan without looking into the surroundings.

"I am telling you, Leah. Even a children's plan is much better than her's." He stressed each word to provoke someone and he successfully did it when he saw an angry little kit.

Since the morning when Leena was searching the entire house looking for something, Devin was also watching her move secretly. Only when he saw her going out of the house at an odd hour, his guards went high alert. She must be up to something crazy stuff again. But when he listened to the conversation, Devin realized the weight of the problem. He didn't foresee his sweetheart was actually trying to pull Leah from something a big scam.

"What did you say!" There was bafflement over Leena listening to his barbs.

"Sorry, darling. I misspelled. It must be worse than a kid's right?" His eyes scintillated with ironic wit.

"At least it is better than a copyist." Leena scoffed at the shameless man for using her ideas as if he owned them.

"Isn't it much better than pervs cook up story?" He snapped.

"Can you both quit your sallies and think of some reasonable plan. We are running out of time." While Leena and Leah were stunned to see another cat emerging out of nowhere, Devin was already anticipating his arrival.

"Austin!"Leah screamed and rushed towards him. The moment she saw him, her tears were threatening to fall out which she had been wielding for a longer time. She never wanted to hide him in the shadows but her situations compelled her. Somehow, she was happy that he was aware of the situation.

"Don't talk with me!" Austin tried to avoid her hug, but the latter was squeezing him turning blind to his fury. If not for Leena, he would still think that Leah is doing fine. But somewhere Leena has planted a seed of doubt into Austin's mind when she asked about their relationship. When Austin saw her avoiding since the morning, his suspicion grew, and followed her, scared that something might have happened. But he was terrified when she revealed that Bernard is still threatening her and she still chose to keep him in dark.

"I am sorry. I did not have a choice." Leah pleaded in a whisper. She was afraid of losing him if she had tried to warn about her problem.

"I will ignore your mistake this time. Never ever hide anything from me. All right?" Patting her back, he consoled his baby. It was his mistake from the beginning. He knew that he had feelings for Leah since high school, but he was also afraid to admit his feelings. To make her jealous, he dated random girls. But he never thought, his jealousy would trigger her to the point of accepting someone into her life already. Only when Austin understood how much she meant to him, he was almost on the brink of losing her. But luckily she was back into his arms, and he got to know their feelings were mutual from the beginning. He wanted to kill that scum with his own hands for making her cry again.

"I promise. I will never hide anything from you." She whispered. Both stayed in their arms cuddling each other dwelling into their own world.

Looking at the crying girl, Leena was about to make a move towards her, yet she was pulled back by her hoodie.

"Where are you going?" Devin asked taking her gazing direction. Don't tell me, she is going to disrupt the couple's moment.

"I will also go and console Leah." With a smile, she started.

"Have you ever had an EQ test?" Devin asked curiously. He is now understanding why their relationship is progressing like a snail race.

"No. Why?"

"You better get it tested." If her IQ is at ridges, EQ is not even below the base. At least she will not brag about this one thing when she gets the result, but he highly doubted that also.

"Why I need to_"

Suddenly, Leena stopped her words when she began hearing moans and grunts from the other end. Baffled, she looked up to see Austin slamming his lips into Leah kissing and knocking the wind out of her.

Leena got super awkward watching an adulterous show and the quietness except for their occasional whimpers were deafening her. Unconsciously, She turned to her side without knowing Devin was looking only at her all along. The next thing they knew, both were staring at each other as if they were in a silent sanction. Their eyes were battling with passion while their lips were compelling to cuddle. If only time remained.

Turning to the side, Devin instantly broke from the revere when he realized where it was taking off. The least he wished was not to make a mistake in the heat of a moment which they would regret it later.

Covering her face which was searing hot, Leena looked away maintaining a little distance berating herself for getting carried away. She can't believe she was staring at his lips all the time like a pervert. Why can't those two get a room instead of torturing singles?

"Hey, monster! Thank you so much for helping my baby." Austin was back happily chatting with Leah after his emotional kiss.

"Ok," Leena whispered gazing into a distance fear of getting caught.

"You are not arguing?" Austin begged to differ. It's not Leena's style to keep mum.

"What's wrong with Vincy?" Leah poked Austin's arm when she saw Devin was also spacing out.

"Did you both fight?"

"No." Both uttered in unison. When Devin glanced her way, Leena turned back in shame.

Honestly, he actually preferred her blabbermouth than to the silent monster. To pull her out from the embarrassment, Devin started up.

"I can't believe you were listening to her ridiculous plan." Devin snickered taking Leena's blushed face turning to rage.

"What?" Leena exclaimed throwing her shyness when he is again accusing her idea.

"Accept it. Truth is always bitter." Flashing a wink, he snatched the mobile from Leena's hand and scoffed at her as if criticizing her theories.

While he was interpreting his idea to Austin and Leah, Her nerve twitched when she began listening to the copy cat.

"You copy cat, that's my plan again." She cried out. Leena can't believe he was utterly shameless to use her own ideas in front of her again.

"There is a slight change in our plans sweetheart. Did you ask where his house resides?" Devin enquired.

"Leah knows it already." She argued.

"Then did you tell them what tools we have to take for the robbery?"

"Shameless idiot. Why do you always copy my ideas." Leena tried to kick his leg again, but Devin easily evaded this time.

"Have you ever went to a house robbery?" He asked with mirth.

"Why would I go_"

"Without doing a robbery, you wanted to go for it?" Knocking her head gently, he chided as if she was a child who made a mistake.

"Then did you do it?" Leena asked pushing his hand away.

"I have a record of them and I even have a history of murdering someone also," Devin whispered into her ears in a low voice only for her to hear.

"Oh My!" Leena couldn't help but exclaim clasping her body in a protective manner.
