“Yes, that’s right. Mr. Jenson is worried about your safety.”

Gwendolyn felt a warm sensation fill her heart when she heard that. “I know there’s a lot of people here, and things are getting very chaotic, but I’ll be fine. You guys go on ahead and clear the area. See if you can keep the journalists here, especially those who have been recording this incident.”

“No problem, Ms. Harris,” the bodyguards replied in unison before proceeding to get the chaotic crowd under control.

Eloise had assumed that she would die after jumping off the wall, only to fall onto a soft rescue cushion.

Before she even realized what was going on, Elven and the others quickly rushed forward and subdued her.

The film crew was evacuated in under five minutes after being given a stern warning.

As for the journalists, they were rounded up by four bodyguards and told to wait for Gwendolyn to negotiate with them.

The place quietened down significantly with most of the people gone.

Eloise kept screaming at the top of her voice while Elven and the others kept her pinned on the ground.

Gwendolyn walked up to them and glared coldly at Eloise as she continued yelling, “F*ck you, Gwendolyn! I will never forgive you, you f*cking b*tch!”

A few minutes later, Eloise had to pause as her throat got sore from her incessant yelling. Gwendolyn then turned toward Elven and said, “Let her go.”

“What? You want us to let her go? But she’s out of control, Ms. Harris! What if she attacks you?”

“It’s fine. Just do as I say.”

As reluctant as Elven and the others were, they had no choice but to comply and released Eloise from their grip.

Having regained her freedom, Eloise whipped out a pair of gold-colored scissors that she had hidden in her pocket and charged at Gwendolyn before the bodyguards could even react.

“Die, you b*tch!”

“Watch out, Ms. Harris!”

“Gwendolyn!”

The bodyguards exclaimed in horror, only to see Gwendolyn land a perfect sidekick on the back of Eloise’s hand.

The pain was so severe that she dropped the scissors instantly and froze on the spot.

What? Did Gwendolyn just stop me in a split second?

The bodyguards seized that opportunity to pin Eloise to the ground and subdued her once again.

Gwendolyn stepped on Eloise’s fingers as she bent over and taunted her, “You have underestimated me, Eloise. You’re no match for me even if I am at a disadvantage. It’s only a matter of whether I feel like striking back.”

“Aaargh!” Eloise screamed at the top of her voice in anger and frustration.

Annoyed by how noisy she was, Gwendolyn frowned and slapped her hard across the face.

The intense pain from the slap stunned Eloise so much that she went silent immediately. Her eyes were filled with tears as she glared viciously at Gwendolyn.

Feeling satisfied at how the mad woman had quietened, Gwendolyn grabbed Eloise by the chin and lifted it up as she said calmly, “Honestly, you should’ve just stayed in prison. Why would you show up at this opening ceremony for the new show I’ve invested in? You even went as far as stealing the scissors that the film crew had prepared to cut the ribbon with. That is a rather impressive level of preparedness you’ve got here. Tell me, whose idea was this?”

Eloise simply laughed at her without saying a word.

“Only a few individuals in all of Chanaea are capable of getting you out of prison. Craig, Asher, Callum Gadomski, Sylas Yanek, and Cedrick. Who do you think I should suspect?” Gwendolyn continued.

Eloise laughed even louder as she asked, “You really want to know?”

“Of course.

Eloise let out a sinister chuckle as she said, “Oh, Gwendolyn… You have no idea how surprised I was when he came to visit me in there!

“He has been acting all innocent and weak in that family of yours for so long now. I can’t wait to see the look on your face when he reveals his true nature! I’m pretty sure it won’t be a long wait, though! Hahaha!”

Her expression was twisted with a combination of glee and hatred.

Infuriated, Gwendolyn slapped her twice with even more force.

“How dare you set your sights on Ceddy? You must have a death wish!”

Eloise simply shot her a mocking glare without explaining any further.

“What should we do with her, Ms. Harris?” Elven asked.

Gwendolyn stood up straight and wiped her right hand, which she slapped Eloise with, using a wet towel before saying calmly, “Bring her to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and hand her over to Ceddy. She has escaped from prison, deliberately caused a scene, and attempted murder with a weapon. Let them deal with her as they see fit.”

“Understood.”

Eloise was still smiling maniacally even though she failed to kill Gwendolyn.

She continued to glare at Gwendolyn with bloodshot eyes as the bodyguards handcuffed her and dragged her away.

“It must really hurt to be betrayed by the person you love the most, huh? I’ll look forward to the day you break down after learning the truth, Gwendolyn!” Eloise exclaimed before she was dragged out of the place.

Gwendolyn simply stood there and thought about what she meant by that.

Ezra walked up to her and whispered, “Ms. Harris, Eloise didn’t look like she was lying. I think she might know something.”

“We stick to our usual procedure. Given the kind of mess she’s in, I doubt we’ll be able to get any information out of her.” Gwendolyn replied with a cold look on her face.

She then glanced in Eloise’s direction as she continued, “Besides, she was probably just making a last- ditch effort to get back at me. I trust Ceddy. There’s no way he’d betray me.”

Ezra gave it some thought and agreed with her.

Mr. Jenson would never betray Ms. Harris even if the whole world became her enemy. That’s especially the case since she’s pregnant with his kid!

Having taken care of Eloise, Gwendolyn turned around and made her way toward the journalists that the bodyguards had rounded up.

“I would never do anything that is against the law. Eloise was locked up in prison because of the crimes she had committed. If you don’t believe me, feel free to look up her criminal record.

As you all probably know, Angle Corporation and Harris Group’s stocks are bound to plummet if word gets out about the scene she has caused today. That will result in me losing hundreds of millions overnight. In order to prevent such a huge and pointless loss of money, I am willing to let you guys have it if you will remain silent about this incident. Well? What do you say?”

The journalists exchanged glances and seemed to have made their decision almost instantly.

“Don’t worry, Ms. Harris! The internet will not hear a word about what happened here today! We will help you come up with an appropriate explanation for this.”

Gwendolyn flashed them a satisfied smile. “Very well. I will have the bodyguards watch as you delete the videos you have recorded. Please remember your promise, though. My eldest brother has a private army, and my third brother practically owns the entertainment industry. My man, too, has the army back him up too. If you guys break your promise, I will be sure to make you regret it.”
