Chapter 1802: Days Without the Little Red Hand
Fortunately, when players died, they would only lose EXP and not levels. They wouldn’t drop to below level 60.
As for the dropping of equipment, their teammates would be able to pick it up anyway, so there were no losses.
The Pit Commander’s HP was whittled down at a rapid rate, but this wasn’t because of the Paladins or Lu Li. The main DPS were the Undead Mages, Darnassian Archers, Troll Hunters and other NPC characters. Lu Li’s objective was to clear the last remaining 20% HP on the monsters, or to get the last hit.
If it were possible, Lu Li would want to stop the NPCs from fighting at the last second. Unfortunately, the System didn’t allow this to happen.
Otherwise, Hachi Chan would become the most broken and bugged player in the whole of Dawn. She would ask the NPC to attack until the last hit, then take over. If she wanted to take it step further, she would team up with Remnant Dream and let her loot the items.
Perhaps this path would be more profitable than staying in Ruling Sword.
The NPCs didn’t care about Lu Li’s plea. It was as if they were designed to completely ignore these types of requests, because they simply started fighting more intensely.
After the Pit Commander was slain, the other soldiers also proceeded to fall one by one.
“Who’s going to loot?”
The main goal was the EXP. Lu Li was quite sure that items would drop from the Pit Commander, but Remnant Dream wasn’t there, so who would loot them?
Everyone looked at each other. In the end, they all decided on someone who wasn’t that unlucky.
As for Lu Li, no one felt that he had the right to loot items. After all, it seemed as though he was cursed. Fat Monkey had once said to Lu Li that he would rather Lu Li kill him than for Lu Li to extend his arm to a corpse.
“There’s only one. It’s a Dark Gold.”
This Paladin that was voted to loot the corpse was embarrassed.
He thought that his luck was above average. When partying up with other people, he was always the one looting. Although he couldn’t compare with the famous Little Red Hand, his luck couldn’t have been so poor as to loot a single Dark Gold item.
No matter what, this Pit Commander was still a Wild Boss.
What did the Wild Bosses of this level drop?
Lu Li remembered that they would drop at least 3 Epic items. There were also rare materials, Skill Books and different Stones. There was no way that it was just going to be a single Dark Gold item.
“Give it to me,” Lu Li said as he took the item and stored it away. “This item isn’t too bad. I think Lonesome Flower will like this. It’s already wearable at level 62, and it even has two Unique Effects.”
“Boss, you haven’t gone crazy, have you?”
Even Drifting Rain, who was well accustomed with Lu Li, was dumbfounded.
“Don’t bring over the old stuff. Did you see a second item drop from the monsters here?”
Lu Li wasn’t surprised; he already knew what to expect from the monsters in the new maps.
There wasn’t much equipment being dropped, but there were many recipes, blueprints and materials.
This was one of the changes in the level 70 update which was made because Dawn wanted to develop the Professions.
Of course, the Pit Commander only dropped a single item that was only Dark Gold. This wasn’t characteristic of its Boss type and level. Under normal circumstances, Wild Bosses would drop more items and it was possible for the tiers of the items to exceed Epic.
“Well, let’s gather our things again. If you guys have nothing to do, then go look for NPCs to do quests. Quickly level up to level 61. We’re all on the Level Rankings now,” Lu Li said.
The Level Rankings were reset after the new update. Everyone at the top of the rankings were all level 60 and above. However, Lu Li and his party had all just received an abundant amount of Experience, and were well ahead of the other players.
It wasn’t that the players in the new maps couldn’t grind for EXP. Many of the old maps had monsters around level 60, and the monsters in the Instance Dungeons reached level 65 as well. Although the levels were there, the EXP rewards were limited.
A level 60 Elite monster’s EXP was the same as a normal monster in the new maps.
If players opened up the Level Rankings, they would see that it was full of Ruling Sword players.
The second wave of monsters arrived, led by another Pit commander. This time, there were even more monsters, including the Wrath Masters. Lu Li had to arrange for people to clear out the Wrath Masters first.
The advantage of the team of the Paladins was that they could set up a formation and work together. However, against the Wrath Masters, the Paladins would be completely disabled when the Wrath Masters broke their formation.
As such, they needed to quickly eliminate this threat. Fortunately, killing them was a simple task. They just needed to interrupt the skill animation, after which a group of players could rush forward and bash them to death.
Killing the Wrath Masters was top priority. Then, they would surround the Pit Commander and focus on it. This was their strategy.
The Pit Commander was successfully slain. Unfortunately, because of the Wrath Masters, they were unable to take the last hit and were prevented from looting the corpse.
This round had been wasted. Lu Li’s rage was then diverted to the remaining smaller monsters. After all, a little bit of EXP was still EXP.
However, there was still a third Pit Commander. They managed to successfully take it down and were able to loot the corpse.
This time, there was a level 62 Warrior item. The properties were average, but there was only a single Special Effect.
The items between level 60 and 70 were just temporary items. The properties were decent, but there were less effects. After all, these were only level Dark Gold, so they couldn’t compare to Epic, Exquisite Epic and Legendary items.
“We’ve already been battling here for 7 days. Later, there will be new soldiers coming to replace us. Do you want to retreat with us to a safe place to repair your things?” Colonel Dulong asked Lu Li. Their performance had already impressed Dulong’s warriors.
“No need. We only fought for a few hours just then, so we’re not tired at all.”
The Expeditionary Talisman only lasted three days, so of course they would want to fight for as long as possible.
Lu Li’s Fortified Expeditionary Talisman increased his damage by 5% at the beginning, but this had now accumulated until 16% damage. Perhaps they would be able to defeat the Fel Reaver after continuously gaining damage.
“Alright then. I’ll leave as much as I can for you.”
Dulong slapped Lu Li’s shoulders with admiration in his eyes. Unfortunately, Lu Li wasn’t a normal person. Otherwise, he definitely would have been invited to join the military in the game.
Lu Li was unaware that he had missed this opportunity.
