Chapter 1804: Hadn’t Seen Someone This Arrogant Before
The Orion who had turned into the monster was still the Lieutenant General Orion that they knew. He didn’t lash out at his allies, which meant that he still maintained his sanity. However, his fighting style became much more aggressive, as if he was a battering ram being thrust at the castle doors. He immediately targeted one of the Pit Commanders.
A Pit Commander was around 4 metres tall. They were originally looking down upon everyone around them, but Orion dwarfed them all.
Orion raised both of his fists and slammed them heavily downwards into the skull of the Pit Commander. The Pit Commander’s head immediately exploded as large volumes of green bodily fluid gushed out of its head. The great body of the Pit Commander fell to the ground. It was unbelievable how easy Orion made it look.
How impressive! A Pit Commander was capable to instantly kill the players here, and it took a long time for them to defeat one. Orion’s power exceeded all of their expectations.
“Attack!”
Sethria led a group of NPC soldiers and charged towards another Pit commander. Their fighting style was one that was relentless and simply mindless. They were all just frantically attacking the Pit Commander and did not discuss strategies at all. Although this method was fast, it also led to a lot more casualties.
Lu Li didn’t understand why she had done that. Lieutenant General Orion could take down all four Pit Commanders easily enough.
However, he overthought it.
After killing a Pit Commander, Orion immediately charged towards another. The result of this clash was not decided by Orion’s one-hit KO. Instead, it was Orion who was being attacked by the Pit Commander.
Even the blind could see that he was barely holding on.
If it all went as expected, Orion would not be able to defeat his second opponent. It appeared as though Orion was only a one-hit wonder and didn’t have enough strength to continue.
If they were being even more pessimistic, then Orion was likely to become weaker and weaker, so it would be possible for him to be killed by the enemy.
“Breezy, what are you doing, standing around like that? There’s one more Pit Commander!” Lu Li roared. He quickly led a team of players to surround the fourth Pit Commander. They needed to kill this one quickly so that they could go and support Orion.
There were around 100 players, so they weren’t all going to fight the Pit Commander together. Most of them were melee classes, so they couldn’t all fit.
Lu Li also arranged for some Paladins to go and help with the other Bosses.
He had two goals in mind – to spread out his forces and to steal the last hit on the Boss. Out of these four Bosses, he wanted to at least be able to loot two of the corpses.
Now that Remnant Dream was here, it would have been a shame if they lost the opportunity to do so.
In reality, he was just hoping for the best. Things might not have panned out the way that he wanted to.
Another group of people appeared in front of the Dark Portal, which announced that there were going to be more players arriving in the Outland. This time, there were around 40 to 50 players. The leader of this group was Sorrowless, so it was assumed that these were all Glory Capital players.
Glory Capital had always been at the top in terms of killing Wild Bosses.
They obviously wouldn’t ignore the Wild Bosses in the new map, so they must have gathered up the players who had completed the quest and entered the Outland together.
Although the trigger for the quest couldn’t have been traded, there was a method that allowed someone else to trigger the quest for them. With so many players in Glory Capital, there were at least thousands of players who had triggered the questline. However, because of the difficulty of the quest, many of them weren’t able to complete it.
These 40 to 50 players were at the top of Glory Capital and were all Elite players.
The Stair of Destiny was not far from the Dark Portal. They could immediately see the intense action that was happening.
Some of the Glory Capital players wanted to immediately rush over to make things harder for Ruling Sword. Blood Dagger was the leader here. He hated Ruling Sword, so he always wanted to cause trouble for them.
However, Sorrowless didn’t like that idea. After all, Ruling Sword had a massive numbers advantage over them. If they really fought, they would be completely outnumbered. Sorrowless did not think that there would ever be a time where he was outnumbered.
“Such a shame. Those few Bosses look like they would be fun to kill,” Blood Dagger whined.
“There’s a bigger one over there,” one of the Glory Capital players said while pointing to a place in the distance. There was a gigantic silhouette in the distance, and it was coming ever closer to them. Furthermore, its thunderous footsteps could be heard as well.
“Do we go for that one? We only have 70 people,” White Westhill asked.
“Let’s go.”
Sorrowless was quick to decide. This was a truly powerful group that represented the peak of all of Glory Capital. He thought that the difficulty wouldn’t be too high since this Boss was designed for the general population of players. It was the very first Boss in the level 70 map, or so he reasoned.
Ruling Sword might have been planning to go and kill that one after they killed the one that they were fighting.
“They’re going to fight the Fel Reaver,” Drifting Rain said with glee. Lu Li had warned him of one of the most untouchable existences in the Outland. The Fel Reaver ranked third. This was an insect-like creature that sheer numbers could not overcome. Furthermore, it was difficult to escape its grasp once a fight was initiated.
Lu Li mulled over it and decided to get someone to help prevent this tragedy.
“Left Hand, go and prevent them from going to the Fel Reaver. Just say that this Boss cannot be fought. Bring them over here to fight these Bosses insetad.”
“What the heck? What’s wrong with you?” Azure Sea Breeze didn’t understand.
Ruling Sword didn’t have a relationship with Glory Capital at all. In fact, they were constantly clashing and had suffered underneath Glory Capital many times. Although Ruling Sword seemed to be ahead in competitions, the Instance Dungeon scene and Stronghold battles, they still lost in many other areas.
For example, there was a Wild Boss last week that Ruling Sword was in the middle of fighting, when Glory Capital decided to deploy their players to interrupt them.
Both sides were engaged in a huge war. Not only did Ruling Sword fail to kill the Boss, they were also miserably defeated. They lost many lives and many equips that day.
“Even if they did go and fight it, the number of deaths wouldn’t be that many, so it wouldn’t mean much,” Lu Li explained. “I’m worried that there might be four Pit Commanders again next wave. Looking at Orion, I think it’ll take us two weeks to do this. What can we even do?”
“Lu Li’s right. We can also get them to owe us a favour this way. They would also help us defend as well. Furthermore, when they bring in more people later on, we wouldn’t clash with them because of it. At the very least, we can’t compete with them in terms of battling in the Wild,” Wandering said, showing his support for Lu Li’s idea.
Lu Li wouldn’t lose anything if Glory Capital owed him a favour either.
Cain’s Left Hand was a player who focused on Wild battles, so he didn’t particularly like Glory Capital either. He went into Stealth until he was in front of the Glory Capital players, revealed himself, said a few words, and immediately disappeared.
“Our boss said that the Fel Reaver cannot be fought. You guys would not be able to fight it. Why don’t you all come quietly and fight the small Bosses with us?”
Everyone from Glory Capital looked at each other.
They hadn’t seen someone so arrogant before. What he had said sounded incredibly condescending. It was hard to believe that it was a warning out of kindness.
