The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 530

Chapter 530

Chapter 530: Name of relation?!

Sierra and Charles were trying to adjust to their current and new pattern of life.

Despite the change in status, the kids were well versed with their new father. Even though they weren’t close enough, to begin with, they didn’t deny his sudden appearance in their homes.

Sierra had tried her best to not show her mixed feelings to her kids and carried with her usual stuff. She served the food at the dining table where Ailey and Noah were seated. Along with them, Charles returned from the office to wait for their dinner.

But the moment Sierra entered their dining room, she was greeted with the sight of Ailey giving Charles a book, “Can you please help me understand all of these difficult words?”

“Sure! Give it to me.” Charles took the book from Ailey and looked at the content, “Hmm. I will help you with it after dinner. Did you get this as your homework?” He asked Ailey softly to which Ailey nodded her head.

“Yes! Our teacher asked us to learn them.” Ailey and Noah were allowed to join their school in Charles’s care. Now, he was their official father on the papers as well. It was already known to the principal that Charles Johnson has two kids, out of nowhere.

But it was still kept very much private on the other accounts. No public announcement was made regarding the matter.

.....

Meanwhile, Sierra brought the food to the table and passed three respective plates. “I made some light dinner today. Noah And Ailey aren’t feeling well with their stomach...”

Even though Sierra didn’t look at Charles, her words were an explanation to him. She knew he had a great appetite and would not be satisfied with such light food.

In short, she expected him to throw words at her.

But her exceptions clashed down into pieces as Charles picked up the food to start eating the food. “It’s alright. Your skills are still best so it doesn’t matter if the food is light or not.”

“hmm..” Sierra’s ears are covered with red blush on hearing his words. She didn’t lift her eyes and carried on with her food.

The dinner wasn’t loud but peaceful. The family of four ate in harmony while keeping minimal talks in between. Majorly, it was Ailey and Charles who were engaged in conversation and talked.

Noah was absolutely not interested and neglected everything. It didn’t matter to him who sat there or not as his entire focus was on his food.

But seeing the interactive session between Charles and Ailey stirred something in Sierra’s heart. She swallowed her food but it brought home unimaginable pictures in her mind. ‘He is still so sweet with Jack’s child as if she is his daughter...’

Sierra will never deny that she was scared of Charles. It made her think and she had taken time to especially warn him to treat Ailey and Noah equally if he wished to be their father. But all he answered was, “I have two children. Why are you telling me that I have only one?”

His reply left her stunned and now she could see why he had said those words.

His own son was as distant as him. Their traits matched too well, to begin with.

“And you know, my friend said that her family went on a picnic. They sat under Sun and on the grass in the park. She even rode a horse with her father and brother!” Ailey didn’t stop describing her day’s event, a habit that she inherited from her late mother.

Sure enough, Charles was keeping his ears open during other conversations. “Horse ride? A good idea. Do you wish to learn horse riding? And what about your Noah?” For the first time, Charles tried to equip Noah in his talks.

Noah lifted his eyes to look at his father, blankly before asking “What riding?” Charles corrected, “Horse riding.”

“Hmm. I won’t mind if my sister learns with me!” Noah’s sweet smile flashed again and he returned his face to his food. How can he not care about his food being robbed by any else?

Charles took that as a yes and looked back at Ailey, “What about you? Do you want to learn? We can have classes every weekend.” Ailey didn’t show any resistance either and it was decided that the family of four would go to the farm every weekend to learn horse riding.

Throughout the dinner, Sierra didn’t say a single word. Neither did she interfere with what Charles said and let them have an interactive conversation.

But soon enough, when the dinner was complete she kept all the dishes back in the kitchen. Charles helped her in tidying her dining space and stepped into the kitchen from her back.

However, when he wanted to leave, did Sierra take his attention? She turned around to face him while folding her hands against her chest, “What do you have to talk about, Charles?”

“What do you mean?” Charles’s brows converted into a frown but Sierra acted smartly, “Since the moment you returned from the office, you’re looking at me secretly. Don’t take me as a fool, I have lived with you for years earlier and I know your habits.”

“Whenever you have something to talk about, you would secretly take glances. You are doing the same now. So, tell me without beating around the bush..”

Sierra’s sharp tone took Charles by surprise. He didn’t expect her to act so fiercely and bring the old habits back to her notice. ‘Does she remember all my habits?’ Surely she does, otherwise how come she pointed to one of his habits?’

Charles took a deep breath before saying, “I want to talk about us.”

“What Is here to talk about us?” Sierra didn’t take any initiative and from her tone, it is obvious that she will not do so.

In Charles’s eyes, it was very common since she was the one who has been hurt by his actions every time.

But it didn’t matter because he will do whatever is needed to please her!

“I want a name for this relationship...between us.”
