The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 531

Chapter 531

Chapter 531: Reconciliation?

“Don’t we already have a relationship? Aren’t we co-parenting Ailey and Noah?” Sierra didn’t beat around the bush and tried to come straight to the point.

In her eyes, it was very much evident that they weren’t back on the track. He shows up to her house all because of the children. He spends time with them and she accompanies him in the same.

However, they never shared any personal talks about their relationship. She’s a divorcee and he has discovered she had borne him a child.

Sierra knew about Jack disclosing all her past to him.

But she wasn’t afraid. In fact, it gave her courage to live freely and express herself.

As her brows tilted, she eyed Charles, “We don’t need anything between us.”

“So do you plan to live your life as a single parent?” Charles can’t help but ask. “Jack already confirmed to me that there was nothing in between you and him. You left me because of my father and...your parents forced you into marriage.”

.....

“They didn’t entirely push me...” Sierra mumbled under her breath but it was inaudible for him to hear. She believed that it was better to be left unsaid as her past couldn’t be undone.

They lived in the present and she still held a lot of grudges against him.

In Sierra’s mind, she could never forget how she had begged him to give some respect to their old relationship. She needed some mental security and he never provided one.

However, after so many years, he has matured like fine wine. His deep maturity was attractive to the extent of making her realize her old grounded feelings to regain in her heart.....

But another surprise, Charles didn’t press her buttons of patience. He took a step closer to her without tearing his eyes from hers and kept his focus intact.

“Yes, we are adopted parents for our children but we can’t be like this for a lifetime. We can always convert it into a real relationship.” Jack’s hoarse voice sent chills down Sierra’s spine.

She felt goosebumps peeling her skin as she blinked her eyes twice to regain what he told her just now. It seemed he was adamant on his words and their wan was typing back.

“On what grounds do you wanna turn it into a real relationship, Charles?” Sierra didn’t push herself at the edge and lifted her chin upwards to stand on her toes to face the tall heightened man in front of her.

While she expected some backoff from his side, Charles still stood in his place.

The cold layer of mist never disappeared from his eyes and she found her heart bubbling inside her chest. She swallowed hard as the fierce intense gaze locked their moment and the time had stopped for them. Neither of them took a step back except to look at each other’s fine face which reminded them of their flashbacks, sweet love, hate, revenge, and betrayals...

At this point,Charles took the initiative to break the intense environment. But his words caused more stir in Sierra’s heart.

“You know that I still love you. My feelings haven’t reduced but increased over the years for you, Sierra. And I’m not joking.”

Hearing his confession, heat poured in every part of Sierra’s skin. Something wicked crossed her eyes when she opened her mouth to reply but there was no sound...

While she came across to face Charles’s gaze getting stagnant at her lips, it immediately made her use her tongue to wet her lips. She didn’t know why, but the sudden action was accelerated from her end due to the nervousness.

However, what Sierra couldn’t relate was the closeness between them made Charles’s body react. His heart moved long ago from her natural scent that enhanced his nose. Her pinkish lips were once again all wet because of her saliva, causing turmoil of dirty thoughts to once again play in his mind.

‘How delicious has she become over the years...has her taste changed?’ on his thoughts, Charles’s mind rewinded himself when they had made love in their apartment...

It was alway intense, their body getting entangled in the bed sheets and her constant moans enriching their room, kitchen and what not..

“Mother!”

A sudden voice pulled them out of their eye contact when they turned around and ended with Ailey coming into the kitchen,”Can you please make our beds? F-father, can you please help me with new words?”

“Y-yeah. I will come to you, go get your book.” Charles replied back into tone and Ailey vigorously nodded her head.

She ran back to the couch to bring her book and kept it open for Charles to come and teach her. While her actions brought the couple out from their imaginable world, Charles took a peak on how shy Sierra turned out.

A wicked yet flirtatious smile flashed through his face when he took a few steps further before turning around to face Sierra again, “You don’t have to answer me right now. I will prove my word and then you can decide what you want or not...”

Sierra raised her eyes on hearing this but until she caught his sight, it was all his back. He had led to teach Ailey the word and she was eft on her own in the kitchen now..

As she watched him go back in living room to sit with Ailey and help her, something turned into a mixture of turmoil in Sierra’s heart. Subconsciously, she brought her other hand near her neck to walk cautiously.

She stood behind the walls to take a peek of the living room from the kitchen and found Charles being extremely careful with what he taught. In fact, his actions were entirely resembling a perfect father and daughter duo, something she had seen between Jack and Ailey.,..

But what next flashed in her mind were his words as she still found it hard to accept.

‘Is he genuinely interested in reconciliation?’
