Chapter 2329

James appeared at the Divinity Sect, which had been reduced to a pile of rubble. Then, the Celestial Abode returned to being a ring on his finger once more.

As he was worried that the Demon Race had not left, he scanned his surroundings carefully and proceeded with caution. As expected, there was a group of men in black robes stationed outside the rubble.

He changed directions.

However, no matter where he went, he realized that the entire place had been surrounded by the Demon Race. He had no way out.

The Protector must have determined that he had remained hidden in the rubble. However, they could not find him after such a long time. That was why they simply cordoned off the area.

“What should I do?”

Pensive, James sat on the ground below a huge rock.

At that moment, the sound of footsteps could be heard.

Some members of the Demon Race were patrolling the area.

James suppressed his aura and concealed himself. The moment he appeared, he would be relentlessly pursued by countless enemies. With his current strength, he had no guarantee of surviving the onslaught. He only dared breathe after the footsteps were far away.

As James lifted his head and glanced at the fissure in the sky, he contemplated, “Do I have no choice but to return to Earth through the seal?”

That was his only available option at the moment. However, many cultivators inside the Celestial Abode refused to travel to Earth.

He also had the Dragon Abyss on his mind. He only knew that it was a place that long existed since ancient times. The Dragon Abyss would open once every fifty years, and only ten would be allowed to enter each time.

Entering the Dragon Abyss would allow James to gain enormous benefits. Hiding below the huge rock, he could not help but think about the Dragon Abyss. After some contemplation, he chose to give up on the tempting thought.

“If I’m not mistaken, the Ancient Realm should almost be conquered by the Demon Race by now. This means that the Dragon Abyss is now off–limits for me. Besides, I have left Earth for close to a year now. I wonder what’s the situation there now. Maybe the Second Calamity has appeared,” James murmured.

Lifting his head to gaze at the sky, he thought about traversing through the fissure to leave the Ancient Realm

“James.”

At that moment, a voice came from inside the Celestial Abode. It was Sophie.

James hurriedly asked, “What’s wrong?”

Then, a scroll appeared from within the Celestial Abode.

Holding the scroll in hand, James asked, “What’s this?”

Sophie said, “This is a talisman I created. By catalyzing the talisman, you can break through the void and reappear somewhere else. That’s because you can’t leave the Ancient Realm now.”

“Why?” James asked in confusion, “Why can’t I leave the Ancient Realm?”

Sophie said, “I can’t really say why. Once I reached my rank, I’m somehow able to see through certain fates. I can sense that you’ll lose something if you leave the Ancient Realm now.”

“What will I lose?” James asked.

Sophie said, “I don’t know either. Just remember that fate is preordained. Back then when we were on Earth, I tore through the seal and allowed you to leave. However, you ended up in the Ancient Realm. This is fate.”

James furrowed his eyebrows and said, “What the hell are you talking about?”

Since Sophie said so, he knew he could not leave now, but what would he lose exactly? James could not figure this out, and Sophie could not describe it in detail either.

Looking at the scroll in his hand, he catalyzed True Essence, which slowly seeped into the scroll. At that moment, the mysterious symbols on the scroll glimmered and came to life. Then, powerful energy materialized from within the scroll.
