Chapter 163: GoblinHaven
Chapter 163: GoblinHaven
He attempted to come up with something that could make for a good cover-up story, but nothing came to mind.
'Hmm... Meh. I will just bullcrap my way through this.' 'Determination' filled his heart as he was determined to dig himself out of this pit he put himself in.
"I was referring to my self-diagnosed quest that dictates I take out this disgusting kingdom by its roots." He began,
"Yep, that is it" He muttered 'confidently'.
And Crystalline fell fo-
'Liar.'
Nope! She didn't believe his words one single bit!
She pinched his sides before her annoyed words soon followed: "Fine. Don't tell me, you hateful man. Humph!" She wasn't as naive as Boundless...
It seems like it would take a lot more than that to convince her...
"Haha" He chuckled with an awkward smile on his face while scratching his head.
"Don't laugh, you liar!" She began with a few light punches to his chest. "I am not stupid enough to believe that you received some 'self-diagnosed quest' that told you to exterminate this kingdom."
"Sigh You see, the truth is" He figured he needed to tell her the truth. He had no choice now
"??" Her ears perked up at such words as she listened attentively to what he would say next.
"... The truth is that I just can't stand the sight of such acts being performed by those monsters!" He asserted with a 'righteous' expression.
"Yo-" She was going to call his bluff; however, she was swiftly interrupted by his still 'righteous' tone.
"What if one day it was you down there, about to be eaten by such monsters?? Such a thought... It devastates me!!
It would do us good to go ahead and dispose of such an unforeseen possibility right away!" His words came out with exaggerated hand motions as he looked at the dazzled Ice Beauty with a passionate gaze.
He was the hero!
He swears he was doing this for the sake of everyone elseall those poor villagers or whatever!
Yah, he was doing it for them!
'Not for the experience or anything, how could you even entertain the idea that I would balance the lives of other people over a few b-billion e-experience points??' He stammered while attempting to get the words out inside his head.
A little drool drizzled down his lips when he thought about all the EXP he had to gain from completing this quest
But that's besides the point! He was doing it for the good of the people!
For sure
.....
Crystalline was a little taken aback by the exaggerated mannerisms of Azmond, as she didn't know what to believe anymore.
'But he did say he was doing it for me' She thought to herself with a giddy smile.
She had fallen for his words, hook, line, and sinker!
She didn't stand even half a chance
"Don't you see how benevolent I am, My Dear? I am doing this for the sake of 'us'~" He whispered the last part into her ear, followed by a deep red blush subsequently materializing on her face.
"...I-I g-guess so"
She utterly and hopelessly fell for his sweet nothingness as she melted back into his embrace, completely forgetting what they were just talking about.
"..." A small, imperceptible smile emerged on his expression before he looked toward the line of hundreds of humansall being transported in a straight line, seemingly headed for a large, dark gray castle in the distance.
This particular castle was around 2000 meters long and was situated on top of a hill that overlooked the northern part of the city, outside the 20-foot-tall walls that bordered the entire city on all sides.
There were goblins, presumably goblin guards, that sat on top of these walls, overlooking and monitoring everything that went on below with cruel gazes.
Those cruel gazes were currently directed to the inside of the city, as they watched swathes of humans come in, every single one of them beyond a state where they could even be considered human anymore.
They were more akin to caged animals than they were to humans. But for some reason currently unbeknownst to Azmond, there were no women traveling along the Congo line of chained humans
However, something suddenly rolled in that would answer his queries for him.
**Patter Patter**
The sounds of carriages and armored goblins entering the entrance to the city echoed out, as inside said carriages were a vast quantity of human women!
Every single one of them wore anguished or extremely distraught expressions, as the majority of them were even bawling their eyes out until there were no more tears left to cry.
**Sniffle Sniffle**
Some of the older ones in the groups of women simply sat in the carriages with dead and stolid expressions, for they knew more than the younger ones what really lay in store for them when they reached their 'destination'
Around a dozen carriages, all carrying dozens of human women, rolled through the cobbled streets of GoblinHaven with post haste.
They quickly caught up to the congo line of chained human males before eventually slowing their pace down to match that of the goblins leading the males.
..
"..." Azmond watched these scenes play out with an apathetic expression.
He might seem like a monster for not caring about such a scene, but in reality, he already knew that all the goblins would be dead before they could do anything drastic, so there was no real point in fretting over or getting mad about something that would never happen.
Not that he really cared about such a thing to begin with
For he truly was a monster. In a way.
But since they were of the same species, he didn't mind giving them a hand after he eradicated every goblin in GoblinHaven. This was also the perfect chance to ask these stragglers if there were any places where he could drop off his 'Pokemon'.
That's right
He still had all the women he 'picked' up a few months agoinside his storage ring. However, luckily for him and for those girls he most definitely didn't forget about, his ring had some sort of time stasis spell put inside its interior that prevented any time from passing inside of it.
But there was something peculiar about such a phenomenon
