Chapter 164: Two Visitors...
Chapter 164: Two Visitors...
How did Grandmeister Argas, a small-time villain, acquire such an overpowered tool?
Azmond may not be the brightest tool in the shed, but even he knew that a storage ring with a seemingly endless space and a time stasis spell incorporated into it was far from the ordinary stamdard in Asterion
He contemplated mulling over the topic some more; however, he eventually decided against it. He would leave such queries for later, as he had a quest to complete first!
And this one had a time limit, so he couldn't allow himself to waste any time on subjects he wouldn't be able to figure out right now anyway.
He didn't know just how thorough he had to be in his eradication of the GoblinHaven kingdom either, so there's really no telling just how much of that three-day time limit he got would subsequently be used up before he completed it.
"..." His emotionless gaze darted around the entire 1000-mile radius that was the kingdom of GoblinHaven.
This was by far the largest kingdom he had ever been to, although that wasn't saying much, considering he had only been to the 'kingdoms' that a few powerful monster lords had set up in the heart of the Great Wildlands Forest.
However, they were nothing more than 'slightly' stronger monsters that were playing the parts of 'kings' or 'rulers' of their plots of land.
This kingdom, called 'GoblinHaven' however, was far different than the 'Kingdoms' he had been to before. This 'Kingdom' ruled over by goblins was a functioning society, although a very cruel one.
Nonetheless, it was an undeniable fact that these goblins had set up a well-organized and well structured society that revolved around power and yet also relied on the technological aspects of adaptability.
But that wasn't all, as he noticed something else unusual about this 'GoblinHaven'.
Usually the monster kingdom's forces would fall apart and scatter upon the deaths of their kings, like they did when he went around 'completing his 10 quest streak', but these ones appeared to not even care that their king had already died.
They were either utterly clueless about the death of their own king, which was highly unlikely. Or they had something, or 'someone' else that was capable of keeping them afloat
**Whoosh!** **Whirl!*"
Speak of the devil, and it shall appear.
"Who are you, human? And why have you invaded the territory of the GoblinHaven Kingdom?"
A crackly and aged voice resounded out, followed by the appearance of two unknown figures who honed in on the figures of Azmond and Crystalline.
But their attention was more focused on him than on her, as their dark, archaic gazes practically bore holes into the front side of him.
"Hmm?"
He obviously noticed the two mysterious figures approach them from afar; however, he didn't really think they were aiming for them. After all, he still had his Godfiend Concealing Technique active, and it should be able to help him hide away from the eyes of all existence's close in power to his own.
But it looked like the technique he had been relying on to stay hidden, for the longest time now, had suddenly stopped working
Or, at least, that is what he thought was the issue, until he saw the auras emanating from the two aged figures. And that was where the weird part really began
It was weird because they didn't have any auras.
They didn't have any auras, yet they were flying in the air without any issues. Now this could either mean two things
Either they had a concealing technique like him
Or they were a super big shot and subsequently so much stronger than him that they didn't need a concealing technique to keep their auras hidden from him
He didn't like either option, but he would much rather prefer the first one over the second one. Even though he loved fighting, and even considering that he would like nothing more than to fight stronger opponents!
He had his Little Ice Flower, and his Emu here with him now
He couldn't simply act rash and reckless without first properly ascertaining the level of danger involved.
...
Azmond wanted to figure out more about these unknown figures, who were still patiently waiting for a reply with perturbed expressions.
However, the making of such irritated looks caused the hoods that covered most of their facesto get rubbed off, as he was able to get a better look at them and instantly noticed their 'race's' usual green goblin-like features, except their faces were far less ugly and appeared almost human-like than goblin-like.
However, his thoughts were soon interrupted...
The mysterious goblin that spoke first suddenly voiced his question again, except it was laced with a far more dangerous killing intent than it was the last time: "Why are you here, human?
If we don't receive an answer in the next two seconds, we will consider you an enemy of the kingdom of 'GoblinHaven' and you will be disposed of in but an instant." He glowered with an imperious tone.
It was almost as if the matter of whether or not Azmond would die if deemed an enemy of the kingdom would be all but guaranteed. And it seemed like the only reason that they hadn't already attacked the invading human upon sight was because they were skeptical over the background of this human.
After all, it wasn't everyday that a human in the Initial stages of the Half-Step Void Refining Realm entered into their territory.
They naturally assumed that such a strong cultivator was part of the forces of one of the neighboring kingdoms.
However, their patience and self-restraint were running thin at the unresponsive human before them. They were already in an unpleasant mood over the death of one of their descendants, whom they set up as the stand-in king of their kingdom.
And now this random, powerful human cultivator abruptly appeared out of who knows where? And he had intentions that they couldn't discern.
