Chapter 290: A Sea Monster…?
Chapter 290: A Sea Monster…?
.....
The only reason why Azmond hadn't 'asked' the Primal Beast why he was 'following them' was because he hadn't really done anything against them.
All the Primal Beast ever did was introduce himself to a group of 'potential passengers' before giving him and Calista an odd stare.
It wasn't a malicious stare; it was more of a look that emulated how skeptical he was.
However, what exactly he was so suspicious of was something that eluded Azmond.
But he had his guesses.
*****
*Pitter patter*
Azmond, Boundless, Emu (in katana form), and Calista walked through the futuristic streets of the City of 'Electronia'.
They attempted to make their way over to the branch of the Swanson Transportation Company, but they were often led 'astray' by the tantalizing smells that invaded their noses.
The City of Electronia may have been extremely advanced in terms of how far they were in the technological department, but they still kept their older and more 'traditional' aspects of life.
One of such aspects were the food stands, manned by monsterkin.
All of which were serving piping hot goodsgoods that seemed beyond palatable for Azmond and especially for Boundless, Emu, and Calista.
There was not a single food stand or snack cart they passed by that they did not utterly ravage with their insatiable hunger and Azmond's seemingly endless pockets.
That's right!
Azmond was no longer the gigolo! He left that status as soon as Crystalline went back to her sect for the heiress competition.
Nonetheless, he had officially discarded his old 'title' and became a new man! A greater man!
He started his new life as the sugar daddy!
Or, at least, that was what he hoped for...
...
Boundless danced around the streets of Electronia with stars in her eyes.
|Let's get this, Azmond! And this! Ooh, do you see that over there!?|
"..."
Azmond wanted to be the sugar daddy!
However, he felt like nothing more than the piggy bank...
But there was always a saving grace in every situation. And his saving grace just so happened to come in the form of an adorable girl with fluffy cat ears.
"Azmond"
Calista let out a soft whisper, her big, round eyes tilting up at Azmond.
"Yes, Calista?"
His honeyed voice sounded out, followed by his expression becoming a lot softer as he gazed down at the timid girl.
"Can I get?"
She asked with her small hand pointed in the direction of a sushi stand.
"Hmm?"
Azmond looked in the direction she was pointing and immediately understood what was going on.
'It seems like the feline part of hers yearns for some sort of seafood. Haha~'
He couldn't help but find it a little funny and a lot adorable, as he gave her the go-ahead.
"Here you are," he said whilst lightly tossing a bag of gold coins in her direction.
*Jiggle Jingle*
The bag, chalked full of gold, jingled a little in the air before making its way into the dainty hands of an adorably precious catkin girl.
*Clasp*
Calista caught it with a soft grasp before giving a grateful look to Azmond.
Such a look was followed up by her mellowed voice: "Thank you, Azmond"
That was all she said before her fluffy tail turned in his direction.
*Tap tap*
She had already neared the sushi stand before he even knew what happened.
"That adorable little angel..." Azmond murmured.
His expression was one of extreme anguish, as he didn't know how much more he could take before his heart gave out.
But luckily for him, or unluckily for him, he had his very own resuscitator.
|Azmond, Look at what I bought! You see? It's so pretty!|
Boundless came into the scene with a bubbly aura surrounding her.
And around her neck, there was a red ruby inlaid necklace with 23 different dazzling rubies adorning it.
Azmond turned his gaze from Calista as he looked at the jubilant brown-haired beauty who 'graced' his vision.
As soon as he saw her, and as much as he hated to admit it, she was absolutely stunning.
Of course, shyness wasn't in his vocabulary, so he figured he would just tell her straight up:
"You look gorgeous, Boundless," he said with a small smile.
|...|
"But seriously, do you have to spend so much money?? Even with the amount of gold I am gaining every nanosecond, I don't know how long it can hold up at the rate you burn through it And also"
Azmond jabbered on for a while; however, the target of such yammering was in her own little world...
|He called me cute He called me cute| Boundless incoherently mumbled with a slightly creepy grin.
She repeated that phrase like a broken record, as the two of them made for quite the dynamic couple in the vibrant streets of Electronia.
The hours turned into days, and the days turned into weeks.
Azmond, Boundless, Emu, and Calista climbed up the floors of the Luminous Grounds, as it took them no time at all to reach the Eighth Step.
The eighth step, just like all the other steps, was made entirely of the translucent and iridescent material that marked the land with its dark red hue.
And just like the trend of all the floors preceding the eighth floor, the 'translucent, crystal-like material' was a few shades clearer than the floors that came before.
Furthermore, there was yet another variation of the 'experimental beasts' that lived on the eighth through nineteenth floors.
SWOOSH! SPLASH!
This time, however, it was a sea animal that represented the seventh attempt at making a 'mobile world capable of breaching past the Starry Seaboard'.
"A sea monster, huh? It's the biggest one yet," Azmond muttered.
He, along with the rest of his gang, stood outside a colossal water enclosurea water enclosure that stretched on for hundreds of thousands of miles!
The part they found themselves at was but a mere miniscule fraction of the entire enclosure.
Since it would take too much manual labor and far too long to put any form of railing around every inch of the 'habitat', the capitalists who profited off the work of the 'Insane Scientists' decided to isolate a few miles of the outer rims and put up an eco-friendly overlook on top of a large mountain to the south of the 'habitat'.
