Chapter 289: The ‘Crocofinch’
Chapter 289: The ‘Crocofinch’
.....
These 'bird's', as Boundless called them, were the fifth edition of the 'Insane Monsterkin Scientists' experiments.
They were all around sixty thousand meters long, with bright and colorful red feathers; their faces resembled those of crocodiles, while their bodies were more analogous to those of a parrot and a fish.
And the names of these 'birds' were 'Crocofinches'.
"..."
Azmond watched the Crocofinches with Boundless, Emu, and Calista before he decided to take another glance at the system interface of one of these 'birds'.
A bright light flashed.
BLING!
[Crocofinch: Tier 0: Level 261]
{[Realm: Peak Stages of Middle Void Refining]},
{[Stats: Strength: 376,920k

{[Relationship Status: Neutral]}
[Basic Information: The Crocofinch is a beast, typically in the Middle Void Refining Realm, that travels along the Sixth through nineteenth floor's of the Luminous Grounds in the Nightmare Council.
[It houses many millions of monsterkin as a form of 'housing' being one of its main purposes. The Crocofinch was the fifth hybrid breed created by a few insane monsterkin scientists.]
[It's sole purpose for creation; Trying to take another step further toward creating mobile world's], Accomplishment status [Failed]
[These 'world's' were supposed to allow a way for the mass majority of the monsterkin to travel out past the Starry Seaboard without needing to be in the Tribulation Transcendence Realm] [Failed]
[Reason for failure: The Crocofinches died upon making it a few miles out from the border between the starry seaboard and the outer rims. They were not strong enough to resist the spacial turbulence.]]}
...
Azmond glanced over the information pertaining to one of the Crocofinches before refocusing his attention back on the elevator.
Ding!
The elevator stopped ascending before a speaker tapped in and a cordial voice boomed out:
"Welcome, dear customers! We have arrived at our destination! You may board off the elevator at your own leisure, but please stay aware that the elevator will be returning to the ground surface within the next ten minutes!"
Following such an announcement transmitted through the speakers attached to every corner of the elevator, a tigerkin in professional attire walked out of a futuristic door.
*Whsshh!*
The door he came out of opened up even further as the small pieces of metal separated from one another before traveling up the sides of the massive blast doors that connected the Astral Spiral elevator with the top floor of the Astral Spire.
"Please enjoy your time on the Astral Spire! And make sure not to get too close to the railings!" The tigerkin announced.
He spread out his arms while doing a slight curtsy before he moved out of the way and headed up a set of stairs beside the blast door.
*Tap Tap*
*Chatter Chatter*
The tourists and visitors of the Astral Spire had already started their approach toward the blast door as all but one group had begun to leave the elevator.
A group that consisted of a tall, handsome silver foxkin with a black and gold slime on his head, a young pretty catkin girl with long white hair and misty gray eyes, and of course a 'ghost girl' with long slightly curly brown hair and big round brown eyes.
Such a diversified group was so caught up in their own discussions that they didn't even realize they were the only ones left behind.
And surprisingly enough, the first one to realize their isolation was the-
"Mhmu! Mhmu!"
-Slime!
"Hmm?"
Azmond heard the exclamation of his little buddy as he looked toward Emu.
When he saw Emu's face, he immediately knew what Emu was talking about!
"Are you hungry, Emu?" He asked with a concerned expression.
*Splat*
Emu practically fell flat on its face after hearing what Azmond asked it.
"Mhmu! Mhmu!" 'That's not what I'm talking about!'
But now that the topic was brought up, Emu suddenly realized something else!
*Growl*
Emu was, in fact, hungry!
"Hmm? What are you trying to say, little guy?"
Azmond had not an inkling of an idea what was going on inside that slimy brain of Emu's.
"Mhmu?? Mhmu"
Emu didn't even know what it was thinking about anymore.
However, Emu knew Emu was hungry!
"Mhmu! Mhmu!" Emu squeaked.
Following such a squeak, Emu pulled Azmond, Boundless, and Calista out the door!
"Mhmu! Mhmu!" 'I shall find food to devour!'
"??" "??" "??"
Question marks popped up in all their heads, while the only thing in Emu's head was where Emu's next meal was!
Azmond and gang were forcefully 'extracted' from the blast door as a bright, resplendent view entered all their visions.
The top floor of the Astral Spire was nothing short of an observatory that had a firsthand view of the starry skies above, as the Astral Spire was likely the only place in all of Asterion that was situated so close to the star-speckled world beyond.
Nevertheless, in spite of such a dazzling and surreal view, the only thing on a certain slime's mind was finding a snack counter!
God forbid there were no appetizer bars on the Astral Spire, for if there weren't, Emu would probably just eat the spire in its entirety.
*****
A few days passed by.
Azmond and gang had enjoyed their time at the top of the Astral Spiral before they made their way down the spire and headed to the nearest 'Swanson Transportation' branch.
|You think that stinky beast guy will be there again??| Boundless spoke to Azmond with a disgusted look on her face.
"Hmm It's likely," Azmond replied with a mildly annoyed look on his face.
The 'Primal Beast', who had introduced himself as a Late Void Refining Realm Lionkin on the Second Step, 'followed' them all the way to the sixth step.
Or, at least that's what they believed, for he, Boundless, Emu, and Calista always seemed to cross paths with him at every 'Swanson Transportation' branch.
None of them knew how or why the 'Primal Beast' was always there when they were, but after three consecutive times of it happening, they believed it was more than a mere coincidence.
