Chapter 395: Chapter 395 Terror
At that moment, Yang Qingye joined the lively scene. Seeing Luo Ziling had downed several shots of white liquor, he curiously ran over and asked, “Brother-in-law, how come you have such a good capacity for alcohol? How about we also have a drink?”

“More people want to drink with me, let’s drink another time,” Luo Ziling pursed his lips.

Following the direction of Luo Ziling’s mouth, Yang Qingye saw Ling Haining and Ling Haijun approaching Luo Ziling with drinks.

He immediately understood Luo Ziling’s meaning and quickly left to toast with Ouyang Huihui and Ouyang Feifei.

“Cousin, let’s have a drink,” Ling Haining did not bring over white liquor but instead took out a bottle of aged Taediao, which is Yue State Yellow Wine. After Ling Haijun opened it, he filled the cups to the brim, “I’m so glad to see my aunt’s son today. Let’s hang out and drink together sometime. In a few days, it’s our grandfather’s 90th birthday, and I hope to see you at the birthday banquet. We can drink more then.”

With that, he raised his glass to Luo Ziling, downing it in one gulp.

The glasses used for the yellow wine were for red wine, and a single glass would contain at least half a jin.

Luo Ziling sneered inwardly but kept a smile on his face. He clinked glasses with Ling Haining and then drank the entire cup of yellow wine in one breath, afterwards raising the glass as if nothing had happened, “Thanks, cousin!”

Standing behind Ling Haining, Ling Haijun shuddered as he watched Luo Ziling drinking the full glass of yellow wine without even taking a breath, and showing no change in expression.

It took Ling Haining several breaths to finish a glass of yellow wine, and by then, Luo Ziling had already been holding up his empty cup to him for several seconds.

“Cousin, you can really hold your liquor,” Ling Haining’s expression changed slightly, but he quickly smiled again, “Next time, we’ll definitely drink to our heart’s content.”

“Cousin, let’s also have a drink,” Ling Haijun raised his own full glass and said with a smile, “There were some misunderstandings last time, please forgive me. Later, I’ll toast a few of your classmates too, as an apology.”

As he spoke, he picked up the bottle and filled Luo Ziling’s cup to the brim.

“Thank you,” said Luo Ziling and without hesitation downed the glass in one breath. Ling Haining and others standing a bit farther away and watching the scene were shocked.

This was beyond scientific explanation. The shock inside Ling Haining’s heart was indescribable. How could a person drink so much in such a short time? Was Luo Ziling born a liquor gourd? However, he didn’t show it and, after exchanging a few polite words with Luo Ziling, led the Ling Haijun, who had finally managed to drink his cup of yellow wine, away.

“Luo Ziling, are you all right?” Ouyang Huihui had been paying attention to Luo Ziling this whole time, and seeing him drink so much, she couldn’t help but feel a bit anxious.

“I’m fine. There are more people coming over to toast. I’ll continue,” Luo Ziling smiled at Ouyang Huihui, telling her not to worry.

“Let me invite you to dance instead,” Ouyang Huihui, fearing that someone else would come over and try to get Luo Ziling drunk, immediately invited him to dance and asked the staff to put on some music.

Naturally, Luo Ziling did not like drinking in succession. Although he likewise did not enjoy dancing and did not know how, he accepted Ouyang Huihui’s invitation to avoid a potential onslaught of drinking challenges.

The lights dimmed slightly, and music started playing, with Ouyang Huihui taking the initiative to pull Luo Ziling into the dance area.

This was a slow triple-time dance, which Ouyang Huihui had specifically asked the staff to prepare.

The slow triple-time dance was the simplest; if one could step to the rhythm, they could complete the entire dance.

Before they started moving, Ouyang Huihui carefully explained the rhythm to Luo Ziling and demonstrated the steps. Then she started dancing with him. In fact, Luo Ziling had a really good sense of rhythm, or else he wouldn’t be so proficient with the flute and xiao.

He had never danced before, but having seen it on TV and with Ouyang Huihui’s guidance, he quickly picked up the beats in the dance music. Surprisingly, after only a few uneasy steps, he caught the rhythm and didn’t even step on Ouyang Huihui’s feet.

“You were dancing quite well, weren’t you?” Ouyang Huihui reproached with a hint of blame. “Yet you said you couldn’t dance, were you pretending all along?”

“I really can’t dance,” Luo Ziling explained with a wry smile. “I was just stepping to the rhythm of the music, nothing more.”

“That’s already pretty good, just twirl around a bit, show off some tricks, and you’re a pro,” Ouyang Huihui commanded Luo Ziling cheerfully, guiding him to twirl and show some flair.

However, haste makes waste, and while Luo Ziling could keep the rhythm, dancing well was still quite challenging. Under Ouyang Huihui’s random instructions, he accidentally stepped on her feet a few times and nearly fell into her arms, which left him terribly embarrassed.

Their intimate appearance made many people in the audience unhappy, including Ouyang Feifei, Chen Jiahai, Ling Haining, and others, as well as Yang Qingye.

Seeing Luo Ziling and Ouyang Huihui dancing so closely, Yang Qingye felt a bit indignant.

Luckily, the dance music ended soon, and they separated.

Luo Ziling, as if pardoned, immediately let go of Ouyang Huihui’s hand.

Yet, he found himself somewhat fond of dancing; it provided a legitimate reason to hold a girl’s hand and wrap his arms around her waist without worry.

After the dance, Luo Ziling returned to his seat, where Wu Zhongning came over to offer a toast.

He still held Moutai, filling up a glass to the brim once more.

“Mr. Luo, I am Qingye’s cousin, Wu Zhongning. Today is the first time I meet you, yet I’ve heard Qingye call you brother-in-law. It seems I am out of the loop, unaware that Qingyin already has a boyfriend. From now on, we are family, let’s finish this bottle.”

“Thank you, Mr. Wu,” Luo Ziling didn’t refuse and drank the full glass in one gulp as he took it.

Wu Zhongning also drained his glass and then refilled both, toasting before anyone else.

Luo Ziling followed suit and drank his glass as well.

Having had so much to drink, Luo Ziling’s face had started to show a slight change, a blush creeping up.

Another slow-tempo song began, and Ouyang Feifei took the initiative to ask Luo Ziling for a dance.

Luo Ziling naturally felt embarrassed to refuse, as he hadn’t turned down Ouyang Huihui earlier, so he took Ouyang Feifei’s hand and stepped into the middle of the floor.

It was the first time he directly held Ouyang Feifei’s hand, and somehow, Luo Ziling felt his heart rate quicken a bit.

Ouyang Feifei was slightly taller than Ouyang Huihui, and today’s high heels made her appear even more statuesque.

Standing face-to-face with Luo Ziling, their heights were nearly identical, so he didn’t need to look up or down to meet her gaze.

Before they started, Ouyang Feifei softly said, “You should be able to see for yourself, right? They are trying to get you drunk with the ‘war by waves of toasts,’ so you’ll make a fool of yourself.”

Luo Ziling squinted at Ouyang Feifei and asked softly, “What if I got all of them drunk instead?”
