Jordan and his group burst out laughing when Skylar and Yulia were leaving. So, they said, "Wow, I didn't expect you to get offended so easily? Why don't you leave and not return ever again!"
"Yeah! I mean only shameless people have the audacity to scam our family! You've lost all respect and honor the moment you enter our mansion, so why are you still acting so high and mighty right now?"
"Maybe they just wanted to try using reverse psychology on us. Maybe they're just waiting for us to stop them from leaving!"
"Oh please. I won't give them that! They should just leave. I don't want them to think that we're afraid of them." Those were Jordan's true emotions. He was staring at Skylar and Yulia mockingly, waiting for them to leave. However, they were interrupted by a furious scream. "How dare you send my honored guests away!"
This caught everyone's attention as they were met with an eighty year old man. That was none other than the patriarch of the family, Shane Lucas. He was accompanied by a few people behind him.
"Grandpa, you're here." Jordan and the others greeted Shane the moment they noticed him. However, they were ignored as Shane questioned them. "I have told Geoffrey to invite Phaedra's daughter and her husband here. So, are you not happy with my decision at all?"
"Grandpa, we…" Jordan and the others stuttered nervously. Apparently, Shane was the most respected person in their family. Their futures would be ruined if Shane was angered.
"Well, I want you to keep your thoughts to yourself!" Shane yelled which terrified Jordan and the others. Shane shifted his focus to Yulia after that and after a long pause, he mumbled. "Yeah, you really do resemble my dear Phaedra. You must be Yulia, right? Wow, you look exactly like her. This is awesome, how truly awesome indeed." Shane grabbed Yulia's hand and said, "Come now, join me for tea. There is so much that I want to say to you."
Yulia felt bad when she noticed how emotional Shane looked. It seemed that what happened twenty years ago was no longer important anymore. Besides, Shane just seemed like an old man who missed his daughter. So, Yulia gave Skylar a quick glance and followed Shane. Skylar and Lola followed behind after that.
Meanwhile, Jordan and the others looked bitter as they stared at Skylar's back when they left with Shane. They resented Yulia and Skylar even more after seeing how much Shane favored them.
Meanwhile, Shane grabbed Yulia's hand and told her to sit next to him as he said, "I'm really sorry about what happened all those years ago. I'm sorry to you and your mother." Shane broke down crying as he spoke. It seemed that he clearly regretted what he did to Phaedra back then. Apparently, even Skylar was touched when Shane started crying. He was touched when Shane regretted what he did and even made the effort to apologize to Yulia.
