Apparently, the Lucas family's wealth was unimaginably massive. Eighty-percent of the entire company's shares would amount to over a couple billion dollars. Jordan only held less than three percent of the company's shares as Shane's grandson.
They were shocked to hear that a complete stranger would be given eighty percent of the family's wealth. Hence, the immense protest. It seemed that everyone in the family was drooling over the shares Shane held and they knew that it would go to them as soon as Shane perished.
They never expected Yulia to appear out of nowhere and be given everything Shane owned on their first meeting. This was outrageous to them. So, Jordan rushed over to Shane and questioned him, "Grandpa, Yulia is not even a direct relative to us. What right does she have to be given so much of our family's wealth? What has she and her mother contributed to our family anyway? We can't accept that at all."
"Yeah grandpa, we can't!" The others protested urgently. Even Clara was shocked by Shane's decision. Everyone was wondering why Shane would be that biased toward Yulia. So much so that he was willing to give her everything he owned.
"Contribution?" Shane chuckled and continued, "What have you contributed to our family then? Oh right, you have crippled a person from a speeding accident, lost money from gambling and expected me to pay your gambling debt, and have an affair with some random person."
"Grandpa…" Jordan and the others were so embarrassed by this that they were rendered completely speechless. Apparently, what Shane said was what they would usually do.
Upon noticing their silence, Shane smashed his cup on the table and said, "I want all of you to know your place. None of you has earned anything that you have right now. The only reason why you still have those things is because you are sharing the same blood as me. I don't care if you know nothing about honor and ethics, but I cannot accept that you have the audacity to judge me! It's up to me on who I want to be nice to! I don't need to report to anyone! I have made myself very clear earlier. Keep your thoughts to yourself! If you can't then you are more than welcome to leave this family!"
This terrified Jordan and the others as they did not expect Shane to be this harsh on them for Yulia. They looked pale, but this only made them resent Yulia even more.
Suddenly, Yulia said, "You don't have to do that, grandpa. I don't want anything from your family."
The shares Jordan and the others were drooling over for were nothing to Yulia. Besides, she knew that she had everything after being with Skylar, so she had no reason to take anything from the Lucas family or make them jealous of her.
Shane was stunned for a second after Yulia refused him, but he assumed that she had been hurt by what Jordan and the others said. So, he said, "Don't worry, Yulia. I know what I'm doing."
