Book 2: Chapter 11 (9/11)

Kain swung his giant fiery battle-ax at Evienne and she could barely dodge it. Kain laughed out loud and said, “All of your Demon Lords and demon armies were annihilated. My other self and conjured creatures are watching our fight right now. At my command, they will fly over here then this won’t be a one versus one battle anymore.”

Evienne slashed her dual ice swords at Kain while saying, “Why would you let them interfere in our fight? Where is your honor?”

Kain parried Evienne’s attack then swung his giant battle-ax at her again and said, “Seriously? Enough with this honor bullshit. Let me remind you that you were the one who opened Thirteen Hell Gates to summon massive demon armies and their Demon Lords.”

Evienne dodged Kain’s attack. She threw one of her swords at him while using the other one to strike while clarifying, “But I am a real Devil, and you are not.”

Kain dodged the sword that flew toward him and used his left hand to hold back Evienne’s sword strike while swinging down his battle-ax using his right hand. Kain asked, “Therefore… What’s your point?”

Evienne’s other sword flew back into her hand on time and helped her parry Kain’s battle-ax. Evienne said, “I don’t have one.”

After their weapons collided again, both Kain and Evienne were pushed back several feet in mid-air. Kain said, “Haha, very funny. I'll tell you what. Even without the help from my conjured creatures, I can still defeat you. I was waiting for you to use some kind of powerful magic spells but so far you haven’t cast any yet except for opening the Hell Gates. If I’m correct, you can’t cast any magic spell.”

Evienne confirmed what Kain was expecting, “Of course not. I am a Devil Warrior, not a Devil Battlemage. Only Devil Battlemage can cast magic spells.” josei

“This Devil stuff is still new to me, but I think I understand it better now. You are specialized in fighting using speed, correct?”

“Of course, that is obvious. You are specialized in fighting using strength, isn’t that right?”

“Not only you answered me truthfully, but you guessed wrong of my true power. I didn't know a Devil can be this dumbass.”

Kain smiled evilly as he casted [Carnage Inferno], one of the magic spells that Kain can cast after transforming into a Devil. A powerful blue flame appeared on Kain’s head as it quickly spread throughout his body. Kain’s skin started melting as well as every inch of his body.

Regardless of feeling tremendous pain, Kain laughed out loud and said, “Bitch, I will pass this great feeling onto you very soon.”

Kain flew toward Evienne and swung his battle-ax at her. Because Evienne’s speed was reduced due to her exhaustion, she was forced to parry his attack using her dual swords. After Evienne’s swords collided with Kain’s battle-ax, the powerful blue flame that was burning Kain was transported to Evienne and quickly spread throughout her body. Black-hair Kain immediately healed all of silver-hair Kain’s injuries by activating [Cure] and [Life Drain] on himself.

Silver-hair Kain wouldn’t allow a chance of defeating Evienne to go to waste. He swung the giant battle-ax at Evienne when she was busy squealing in agony. Even so, Evienne managed to block Kain’s attacks over thirty times until the duration of [Carnage Inferno] expired. Using the same tactic, Kain casted [Carnage Inferno] and attacked Evienne using his battle-ax. Once again, Evienne was forced to parry his attack because she could no longer dodge it. After the second [Carnage Inferno] expired, Kain flew toward her for one last attack. Despite surviving after two [Carnage Inferno] spells, Evienne was too tired and could no longer move any part of her muscle. All she could do is open her eyes widely watching Kain’s giant battle-ax cut her body in half.

Five seconds after that, Evienne was teleported back to Hell Realm as the loud voice announced in a sad tone, “Kain… Kain Bersk is the winner for this match.”

All the Watchers sitting in the audience started cheering out loud leaving Kain confused. Iris appeared in front of Kain, smiled at him, and said, “Congratulations, you have passed the Tenth-tier of this Timeless Dungeon.”

Kain asked, “I don’t understand. Why are those Watchers cheering for me? Didn’t they bet that I will lose?”

“All of us have bet that you will win this match.”

“But the loud voice said otherwise.”

“He was lying to you with the intent of persuading you to surrender. Because he is the Watcher that managed tier-one to tier-tenth of this Timeless Dungeon, he was forced to bet against you. If you are the one that loses today, he would be very rich.”

“I also heard other Watchers double their bet that I will lose.”

“That was a Delusion Magic spell he casted on you.”

“Delusion Magic? I have never heard anything about this type of magic.”

“There are multiple universes. Each universe is filled with plenty of realms. Each realm may contain several planets. Not all planets use similar types of Magic just like not all warrior fighting styles of all planets are the same. Demi-Humans of Toria Continents originally came from another realm, didn’t they? Demi-Humans have specializations for their Warrior Classes while humans of Toria Continents don’t. There are many things you don’t know yet, Kain Bersk.”

“That makes sense. Thank you for explaining.”

Kain banished all of his conjured creatures including Finwe. He then deactivated [Devil Anatomy] and [Second Soul] to become just a black-hair Kain again. Kain said, “I’m ready for my reward now before advancing into the Eleventh-tier of this Timeless Dungeon.”

Iris pointed her finger toward something. Kain looked up and saw Evienne Lucifuge was floating in mid-air. Kain appeared to be anxious because Evienne was supposed to be teleported back to the Hell Realm after getting slain by him. No, she was teleported back there because Kain saw it with his own eyes.

"Why is she still here? I have banished Finwe and other conjured creatures. I can't activate the [Devil Anatomy] spell again for the next twenty-four hours. How can I possibly fight against her now?" Kain asked himself all kinds of questions worrying the battle between him and Evienne wasn't over yet.

Kain shook his head to clear out his idiotic thinking and whispered to himself, “I heard the loud voice announced myself as the winner. That's right. Watcher Tykan can easily teleport her back here, there is nothing to be surprised about it. ”

Kain asked again, “Iris, what is my reward for completing this Tenth-tier?”

Iris pointed at Evienne again and said, “She is your reward.”

“What do you mean? I don’t understand.”

“From today onward Evienne Lucifuge will be your Soul-Bound Creature.”

“Huh, but I already have Finwe. Do you mean that I can now have two Soul-Bound Creatures?”

“Of course not. You can only have one.”

“So, how does it work then?”

“All you have to do is agree to let Evienne Lucifuge be your Soul-Bound Creature. I will travel to the realm of Thunder Eagle to kill your Finwe. That is the only way to break the abyss link chained between you and him.”

Without even taking a second to think, Kain said, “Absolutely not. Finwe agreed to be bound to my Conjurer Soul when I was still just a Master-tier Blood Conjurer Mage. I won’t allow you to kill him.”
