Twin Soul

Book 2

Book 2: Chapter 7 (3/9)

Jael was very happy when he saw Kain picked the Vampire Emperor’s heart up. He said in a gratitude tone, “Thank you! Thank you so much!”

Kain looked at Jael with a confusing look and asked, “Thanked me for what?”

“For… for the Vampire Emperor’s heart.”

“Who said that I will give it to you?”

“You did.”

“When? I said you may tag along. I never promise you the Vampire Emperor’s heart.”

“But it won’t give you any benefit. You are not a real Vampire.”

“Yeah, I rather eat it and gain no benefit instead of giving it to you for free.”

“I can offer you anything you want.”

“You have nothing that I wanted.” Kain put the Vampire Emperor’s heart into his mouth and started chewing it.

Jael was so angry when he saw that. He flew toward Kain in an attempt to attack him. But Finwe quickly teleported in front of Jael and pointed his long sword to Jael’s throat. Finwe said, “If you make any other move, this sword will go right through your throat.”

After finished eating the Vampire Emperor’s heart, Kain patiently waited for something to happen to his body. “Why has nothing happened yet?” Kain asked after waiting for more than ten minutes.

“I told you! You are not a real vampire. You can only become a vampire through magic. That is why you can’t become a Vampire Emperor.” Jael answered in an angry tone.

Since there is no more danger after the Vampire Emperor was killed, Kain and his Second Soul then deactivated [Vampire Lord Transmutation] spells to reserve the blood pool of his Blood Pendant.

After waiting for another two minutes, Kain said, “You are right, Jael. I believe you now.”

“You should have trusted me before eating Xenos's heart! Now we have no Vampire Emperor in our world. Who is going to lead the Vampire Nobles? There will be another civil war amongst the Nobles again before the strongest Vampire Noble can be chosen as the new Vampire Emperor by the Watcher. Because of your selfishness, this world will once again suffer from the centuries-long civil war.”

“Ah, right. I haven’t thought about that. Well, good luck with that civil war. It's not my problem anyway.” Kain smirked as he said this.

Kain turned toward Urien and said, “What are you still standing there for? You should go find your wife now then tell Iris that I have completed this-”

A tremendous pain feeling suddenly occurred that put Kain screaming out loud as he fell on the ground. Not just Kain, but his Second Soul was feeling the same pain as well. Kain was forced to deactivate [Second Soul] because it would be better for one person to endure the pain instead of two since it literally increased his pain double. Kain attempted to cast [Life Drain] spell to heal himself from this painful feeling. Nevertheless, it doesn’t matter how hard he tried to, Kain couldn’t cast any magic spell at all. Lucky for Kain that he already had many creatures surrounding him to protect him from any harm. If not, Jael would have taken this opportunity to get revenge by killing Kain for eating the Vampire Emperor’s heart.

“Kain, are you alright?” Finwe asked in a concerned voice.

Kain couldn’t answer Finwe as he continued screaming in pain while laying on the ground. It took Kain at least forty minutes for his pain to finally eased down. By the time Kain could stand up again, he turned to look at Finwe and was surprised by Finwe’s facial expression. Kain asked, “Dude, why are you looking at me like that? I am fine now. I guess that Vampire Emperor's Heart shouldn’t be eaten by a human in the first place.”

Finwe said, “Kain, your hair.”

“My hair?”

“It’s not blonde anymore, but black.”

“Huh?”

Kain turned to look at himself in the mirror and was surprised as well. The human race from Toria Contents was always born with blonde hair. But Kain’s hair had now changed from blonde to black. Not only that, Kain’s skin appeared to be paler white instead of medium white as he was before eating the Vampire Emperor’s heart.

“Hmm… My height appeared to be the same. My face is still extremely handsome. It was just my hair and my skin has changed.” Kain said. “I wonder if I have the power of a Vampire Emperor now.”

Kain attempted to tap into the blood pool inside his Blood Pendant using [Infused Blood] spell. But it doesn’t matter how much he tries, the spell couldn’t be activated. “What is going on? Just like when I was trying to cast [Life Drain], the spell couldn’t be cast regardless of how many times he chanted it.” josei

Kain looked around and saw his creatures were still standing which meant his Conjuration Magic still works. Kain chanted and activated [Demon Anatomy I] to transform himself into a human-size demon. “This still works. That means I have no problem casting Black Magic.” Kain thought to himself.

Kain chanted and attempted to activate the [Infused Blood] spell again but it couldn’t be activated. “My Blood Magic seems to be disabled. Is it because of my transformation into a Vampire Emperor? If so, where is my pair of Vampire Emperor's wings?” Kain thought as he was checking his back and saw no wings.

Kain deactivated his [Demon Anatomy I] to transform back into a human and then deactivated [Puppeteer] spell to free the Ancient Vampires that were serving Xenos. Kain said, “If there is any stupid Ancient Vampire that wants to die, feel free to attack me.”

The Ancient Vampires looked at each other and remained silent as none of them dared to attack. Why would they want to sacrifice for a dead Vampire Emperor? Kain turned toward Urien and said, “Why are you still here? Go and find your wife already. I don't have all day.”

“Oh right, I will do it now.” Urien quickly left the Throne Room to look for his wife in this exceedingly large castle.

Kaid turned to look at Jael and saw Finwe was still pointing his sword to Jael’s throat, Kain sighed lightly and said, “Let him go, Finwe. I can't really be mad at him. Even though his anger isn't worth shit for me to concern, I still have a little sympathy for him.”

Finwe holstered his long sword while continuing to keep his eye on Jael making sure he won’t act harshly. Kain smiled at Jael and said in a friendly voice, “Fight me.”

Jael bit his teeth in anger as he said, “You know that I can’t defeat you. Why are you still taunting me?”

“I wasn't talking about a fight to the death. I just want to test my physical strength to see if it has improved. I won’t kill you. You have my word on that.”

Jael agreed to spar with Kain through his action as he immediately flew toward Kain and threw a powerful right leg kick. Kain also used his right leg to block Jael’s kick and felt nothing at all. As an Eighth Stage Saint Warrior, Kain won’t be able to block Jael’s kick by just using his legs only. Even if he successfully blocked Jael's kick using only his leg as an Eighth Stage Saint Warrior, a tremendous pain feeling would have occurred that could result in Kain having a broken right leg after blocking one attack from Jael.
