Chapter 291 Warning (1)
Chapter 291 Warning (1)
The weapons collided, but both of them didn't move from the spot. Despite the unpleasant surprise, Jake moved his left arm and grabbed the enemy's head, and then spammed Explosive Touch. Even without attacking, the skill activated and then burned the enemy several times. When the enemy flinched, and the grip on his club weakened, Jake enhanced his axe with a bit of dark flames and then smashed it against the target's head. It pierced up to the halfway point.

The remaining trolls quickly surrounded Jake and tried to smash him with their ice clubs, but Jake used Flash to escape from the trap. Once he stopped, he turned around and then equipped his crossbow again and aimed at the back of the head of one of the trolls. In the blink of an eye, several poisoned bolts pierced his head, and the effects of Exceeded Poison made the target tremble for a while, but even so, the monster had such thick skin that it didn't reach its brain.
"I guess that is the troll's vitality for you," Jake thought when he saw the other enemies dashing at him.
Their speed sure was troublesome. With Dash, they could easily be faster than him under normal circumstances. However, Jake ran around using Flash. He hid behind some trees and then moved away when the enemies smashed the trees with their clubs.
Jake repeated that for a while, and then he bought enough time for his wolves to surround the area. That being said, he only made them create ice walls to prevent their escape. Once that was done, Jake stopped running around and then activated Thor's Blessing, Are's Blessing, Hot Blood, and Poisonous Enchantment.
When the trolls approached and raised their clubs to attack him, Jake kicked the ground by using Explosive Touch, and then he raised a massive steam cloud. In the next moment, the clubs hit the ground and made the entire area tremble, and then the trolls grunted in pain.
"This is going to hurt, bitches," Jake said.
Jake equipped one of the rings that was charged with mana, and then in the next moment, he began to spam Flash nonstop. From the trolls' perspective, it looked like Jake had become a shadow that moved insanely fast. They tried to smash the shadow with their clubs, but they failed, and then when they became unable to stand still thanks to their wounded legs, they assumed a defensive stance.
It was too late for that since Jake made the poison stack on their bodies. Moreover, with the power of Bleed as well, the trolls began to lose health at an astonishing speed. He knew that their healing capacity with nine thousand points in recovery was insane, and that was why he used those skills.
Without any other choice, the enemies tried to run away, but then they finally saw the walls that the wolves had created. They also tried to attack those with their spells and clubs, but the wolves repaired the walls by using Ice Breath.
"Showing your back to me… you guys must have a death wish," Jake said.
Jake's mind was a bit better without using the dark flames for a short while, so he enhanced the ax again. In the end, they tried to turn around and fight, but they underestimated Jake too much, and it was too late to try anything. When they tried to block Jake's attacks, their ice clubs shattered to pieces, and then it came to the turn of their heads.

…
"Phew, this was a lot easier… I suppose those rings were a good investment," Jake thought.
Jake couldn't deny the fact that his other skills helped. He had the right skills to fight a single powerful enemy and several of them, after all. Still, not having to worry about his mana all the fucking time sure was helpful.
"No drops, huh… fucking assholes," Jake said. "Since they are too big, their armor won't be of any use to me… Let's see what else they have here."
Unfortunately, using accessories in such cold weather was the same as asking to get some frostbite. Even Jake took out his rings after the battle ended, so the trolls didn't have anything worthwhile on them. Fortunately, he got some coins. He just needed to let it accumulate until he could buy something decent in the shop.
"Putting that aside… why would they attack people like me? Did those criminals cause problems here already?" Jake asked while rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "Even if that is the case, they won't gain much by killing a single person… but I guess their walls is to prevent large-scale invasions…"
Jake wasn't the type to let it slide such a thing. Those guys were only pawns under someone else's command, so he wanted to say hi and then break the neck of their leader, but that would only bring more problems to him. Not only would he waste time, but he also might make other humans think when they arrive that he is a walking disaster and not much different from King Judas.
"It feels like every single situation lately is trying to put me on the edge and then do something that can't be undone…" Jake said and then sighed.
Jake decided to leave the bodies of the enemies behind as a warning. None of them survived, and their heads and legs got cut, so others that tried to screw with him will have the same fate.
After a couple of minutes, Jake and his pack of crystal wolves headed to the frozen Salamanders' territory. In a day or two, Luke and others will clear that quest, and they will begin to bother him again. So, he had to finish that as soon as possible. He didn't want to be bothered anymore since the streets were accumulating, and his patience wasn't that high, to begin with.
