Chapter 607 607. NOSTALGIA
Noah and Elder Sarah ended up not sparring for the full course. They would destroy too much and that would cost money. Although Noah was worth more in that guild after his recent achievement, it would still be troublesome.
He spent a few hours with his master before moving to other things. Firstly he spent a day in his cultivation room meditating and cultivating.
After that amount of time had elapsed he returned to the city to meet up with Elder Velsvon.
Noah walked into a relatively large room moderately adorned with luxurious-looking items, but that would not be his focus.
"I heard a rather interesting thing happen from my master," Elder Velsvon's voice sounded in the room and the man appeared before him.
"Why would you teleport in your own mansion?" Noah asked scanning the room to take a seat on one of the five green sofas arranged in a circular formation around a simple transparent glass table.
"Because it's easier," the expert replied, giving a soft chuckle. The white and yellow lights in the room bounced off his amber-colored robe shimmering with green inscriptions.
Noah nodded and watched Elder Velsvon walk towards the sofas to take a seat directly across the glass table facing Noah.
A wave of silence swept the room and Noah could only allow a bottle of wine and two cups to appear on the table.
"What did you hear?" He asked, making the bottle fill the cups up with his mental waves.
"That a certain someone met with the world," Elder Velsvon replied taking the brown cup up. He gently stirred the violet contents within it by swirling the cup.
"Hmm. Well, I admit that it did happen. But I'm here for a slightly different reason," Noah explained not even touching his cup.
"Can I guess?"
The elder proceeded when Noah nodded.
An eyebrow rose on the elder's face. Things were getting amusing.
"The plan was and is to have you dead… Adonis will even be amongst those sent to kill "Cregar must have dislodged some info about the decision of the royals… seeing as you sound rather stale despite your new state of normalcy," Elder Velsvon revealed, and Noah could only nod in affirmation.
"I came here based on that revelation… we will be leaving after all of that is over," Noah announced taking up his cup.
An eyebrow rose on the elder's face. Things were getting amusing.
"The plan was and is to have you dead… Adonis will even be amongst those sent to kill you. You essentially have no way of escaping unless you run now."
"I also cannot disappear since that would be utterly suspicious…"
"All this changes unless you have a plan though. You have proved to be more than you seem. Even if you already seem like a lot… a whole lot."
"You are right. I do have a plan. A plan that will not cause you any trouble."
"A plan that will fool even tier five experts?" Elder Velsvon asked, filling the cup himself.
"Whether it fools all the fifth-tier experts or not does not matter. Only that it will work, and we can begin our journey to the dark continent to meet your master. I have a lot to talk to him about," Noah explained, not willing to give any further info about this great plan of his.
"I see," Elder Velsvon stroked his chin.
"I understand you do not plan to tell me anything more?"
Noah nodded.
"Very well. That's even good for me. I want you to surprise me," the man chuckled even if the whole thing had put him in deep thought.
"I will inform the others about my decision to embark on a journey after tomorrow." He grunted as he stood to his feet.
Noah stood too, bowed, and disappeared.
Elder Velsvon could only sit to ponder on the various events that were about to occur, and for the first time in a while he felt saddened by the decisions the royals had decided to make.
They utilized one of the favors the guild owed them to ask for this, and since the favor had been bound by an oath thanks to the paranoid royals, the guild could only agree.
After all Noah had done for them, it felt dishonoring to have to put him down that way.
"Where is this nation going," the man sighed before vanishing to who knew where.
Noah appeared in Elder Sarah's mansion, inside his given room and he could not but suddenly feel an intense wave of nostalgia.
Funnily she had held off from touching the interiors of his room. It looked exactly as he remembered before disappearing three decades prior.
It showed how much she cared for him. He could almost confirm that he had a higher position in her heart than Jane did.
That detail didn't matter much though. He would have to leave again for who knew how long.
"I'll be unable to participate in the war," he muttered, placing his hand on the yellow walls.
His silver eyes scanned the room and certain items that had been there before he left entered his gaze.
Thanks to the extra protection deployed around that room and its general position, their small fight had not touched that place.
"That's convenient for me. I will be able to handle other things during that period. But…" He paused before closing his eyes.
A soft melancholic smile appeared on his features. He had almost forgotten what it felt like to miss someone. And maybe a bit anxious about how things would be from that point onward.
He of course felt certain about his plan. It only felt sad knowing he would have to leave after merely months with his old friends.
The war still had a long way to go.
He clicked his tongue shaking off those burdening emotions.
"At least I'll have you with me," Noah spoke addressing Erolia. She could sense his feelings and he could sense hers.
Erolia could only remain silent. Her master's feelings about leaving a place he had known for a long time hit her deeply.
Noah ended up spending a bit of time simply pondering on the things that were to happen. Only Jane was in the mansion. But of course, was cultivating.
The elders had summoned Elder Sarah, he had a hunch about what they planned. After all, they were about to kill her student, and the event would happen in a day.
Noah visited the twelve and they shared a common shock concerning his state, he had a bit of fun with them and learned of the new developments. They were advancing fast after seeing his might.
He could be considered their teacher even if he never taught them anything.
He still inspired them to push forth toward power though. At least to those who were determined to make an impact.
