Chapter 608 608. RELNI
The third day finally arrived and Noah could only sit in his room, waiting. All preparations having concluded.
He felt certain his plan would not fail. Still, the land of Cregar had many surprises.
Finally, something came up. His communication amulet lit up and Elder Ezra's voice rang out from within it. As usual, she asked him if he wasn't too busy and asked to meet at a certain location outside the guild.
Apparently, a few other higher-stage cultivators would be waiting for him there too. She finally mentioned that it would be the thing the royals asked them to do.
When the call dropped he almost burst into laughter. He didn't, only because he recalled what the things soon to happen, and all the humor In his situation vanished.
"I'm going to die today," he sighed, muttering to himself.
"Master," Erolia's voice came from within him to comfort him.
"Don't worry, don't worry. I'm alright."
"I guess."
Erolia could only remain silent. She recalled his plan and how painful it would be for him, but could only follow along.
Noah stood and teleported out of his room.
Not too long after, he reappeared outside the rumbling clouds that surrounded the guild then shattered the sound barrier to travel towards the place he had been called to.
It remained only a few miles from the guild's general position, so it didn't take Noah long to arrive there, and he immediately sensed four other experts.
'All higher stage… as expected,' he commented inwardly descending a few hundred meters to meet up with the four experts. He knew them all.
"Aiden." The only female in the currently present experts called out but in a rather slow, almost sleepy tone.
She was Relni. A woman that looked past her mid-thirties but remained gorgeous. Her silky long black hair and emerald green eyes made for that detail.
Relni was a top expert with an affinity for ice and wind. Yet she joined the divine lightning guild and established her position as one of its strongest.
"It's been a bit. How have you been," Noah responded, inspecting her rather classy; slightly weird attire.
She donned a simple flowy black gown but covered herself with a thick furry white, black, and gray coat.
It wasn't weird per se, considering the snowy nature of their location. But she was an ice affinity expert, and wind affinity to boot.
Plus her peak tier 4 level. She could essentially walk around that area naked and not feel cold.
Relni's smiley expression froze and her eyebrows rose in amazement. She could instantly sense the color that now existed in his words.
Noah chuckled at her reaction. The others floated forward having heard his down-to-earth question. During their initial encounter; to those experts, Noah was no more than a powerful dummy due to his formerly stale nature.
Things seemed to have taken an interesting turn, however, since during their five minutes of interaction Noah showed traits of a normal human, even if his existence still felt strangely distant.
"Why are we even here?" Noah asked. "I have things to do back at the guild… important things."
They played dumb for the time being.
"We're waiting on the others to arrive before actually moving. Even I don't know," Relni revealed, yawning. Her starry black gaze scanned Noah's figure and she failed to hide her sexually inclined intentions towards him.
Relni always had a dreamy, half-asleep look, which more or less suited her defined features.
She also liked Noah and thought she could get down with him. Unfortunately, that wouldn't be the case.
"Give them a few minutes," Uno revealed, the only flame mage present there.
They could only agree with the man, and truly after a few minutes, other experts arrived. At that point, Noah could only feel tense.
It wasn't that he thought his situation was bad or anything, he had anticipated that outcome. But the fact that they would send that many just to kill one person spoke badly of not only the guild but the entire kingdom.
He contemplated, seeing reason in his consideration.
"Should it be considered as a sort of compliment?" Erolia asked, 'Were I normal… I would truly die here.'
'Or maybe it's because I'm not normal that they need this many…' He contemplated, seeing reason in his consideration.
"Should it be considered as a sort of compliment?" Erolia asked, counting ten higher-stage experts.
That force would normally be able to subdue weaker nations. But thanks to higher-level experts such as the fifth and even the sixth tier, tier 4's were merely slightly strong.
"I will see it that way," Noah responded feeling the built-up tension vanish.
Truly their intuition wasn't wrong. The guild saw it fit that many experts be involved to leave no chances for escape.
With the arrival of the tenth expert, the atmosphere between those men and women changed. Noah could immediately tell…
'It's time.' He sighed inwardly.
Slowly but surely he watched those cultivators spread out around him forming a circle that featured him at its center.
He took up his acting skills.
"What are you all doing?" Noah frowned expressing his confusion and even slight worry.
No one responded so he stepped forward. A bad decision.
The second he moved, he felt the auras of all ten experts crash into his figure, and it felt like gravity skyrocketed.
Still, to their shock he remained in one place, seemingly unmoved by the ordeal. But now he had a grim dark expression on him.
"What is the meaning of this?" His words unfolded rather slowly his tone spoke of his growing fury.
Seeing that they weren't getting to him, Relni stepped forward.
"I could swear you had this in consideration… but let me spell it out, Aiden. The royals have asked for your head, and we will be the ones to deliver it to them." She announced, and the others reacted by revealing their weapons.
Their aura's skyrocketed and only then did Noah's figure tremble. The weight of their presence's affectedhim. A good sign.
A wave of confusion swept his expression before it seemed to dawn on him what was happening.
"I see…" He muttered putting up a show.
"But all of you put together aren't enough to put me down," Noah announced, and his aura exploded forth with peak intensity. He ended up bathing the entire place in silver light as the weight of his existence was revealed to all.
A terrible shockwave barreled out in all directions mere instants later, as fog, and thunder clouds flickered into existence with raging intensity.
The event managed to push those experts back a bit. No one had expected a newly formed higher-stage expert to be that strong.
Nevertheless, they were ten of them and one of him.
No one led the fight, so everyone was free to attack as they pleased. As such, multicolored attacks sprung forth into the world.
The clouds Noah's presence had unleashed darkened the area for several kilometers, so the light of the different elemental attacks were vivid and radiant.
Nevertheless, the rumbling of thunder was drowned by the attacks of ten higher-stage experts who had honed their skills to nigh perfection.
The result was a mighty bang, capable of leaving gigantic holes in entire cities. But thanks to their position high up in the sky. Only shock waves traveled through the sky, while strong winds swept the grounds far below, even if no real damage was sustained.
One-third of the whirlwinds and clouds were blotted out thanks to the size of the explosion, as even those experts had to erect defensive measures to shield themselves.
The largest cloud, however, did not vanish. Meaning its creator was still alive.
The smoke and remnant chaotic mana cleared by reason of Relni's influence and astonishment appeared on their faces when empty space unfolded in their eyes.
'Has he been disintegrated?' They wondered inwardly, even if their existences found it hard to believe they could kill him in one go.
Wasn't he the one to defeat a quasi-tier 5 while being in the middle stage?
Yet, the sight before them could not lie. Noah was nowhere to be found but his clouds were around meaning he had survived.
"Where is he?" One of them wondered out loud. He was a man and had an affinity for lightning.
Relni frowned deeply, realizing that she could not sense him anymore.
"Be vigilant, watch out for-" Her words were cut short by the soft gasp she voiced when the black sole of what was clearly a boot landed lightly on the right side of her face.
She had only been able to glance at the kick with the side of her eye before she felt an immeasurable force akin to hundreds of times the normal pull of gravity act on her entire body.
The sound barrier shattered as her figure was sent flying several tens of times faster than the speed of sound.
Her colleagues had only seen her figure shoot past as a streak of light before they could comprehend what happened.
Noah's figure had suddenly appeared and kicked her away. They had been unable to follow or even sense his movements!
Relni smashed into the barrier erected around that battlefield. It remained hundreds of kilometers in size allowing those experts to go all out if they desired.
The impact had been terrible, but like all experts at that level, Relni had protections passively active around her body.
Nevertheless, the side of her face that made contact with Noah's boot sustained a terrible bruise as pieces of flesh directly off. In addition, her back, neck, and head ached badly.
Noah clicked his tongue at that sight. He didn't wish that any of them died at his hands since the entire event remained outside of their control. Still, their willingness to kill him made him reconsider.
