Vampire Overlord System in the Apocalypse

Chapter 280 - A Battle Between Gods

Chapter 280 - A Battle Between Gods

-----

Although the world on the surface seemed completely normal, the entity made from human beliefs, God, was undergoing a furious inner battle.

It has been several days since the battle that Noah had against God's Hand, which had tried to take away his System, and after having left pieces of his soul as parasites inside of God, many of the minds of God that were guided or charmed by Noah willingly let themselves be consumed and assimilated by his soul parasite.

Noah's soul parasite began to crawl inside of God, expanding and assimilating its divine soul slowly, bit by bit.

It was so slow that for the first days of assimilation, the main minds of God had not noticed.

However, when they finally realized that such a thing was happening… it was already quite late, Noah had begun to infect around 20% of it in that time, and even if they were to try to cut the entire piece off their bodies, it would decrease their power even more! They had to simply fight against themselves and try to overwhelm Noah's mind, as he was now part of God itself.

By this logic, God was fighting against itself, rejecting a part of itself as it wasn't really them but Noah, but because Noah had merged with them and assimilated them, he was also God now.

It was a hard battle, and the minds were slowly falling to Noah's parasitic powers, he extended more and more his influence, as many of the minds he consumed and assimilated came to aid him right after as if he were making them into his loyal servants…

God who had decided to prepare something with the planet's Origin Core consciousness was now completely busy trying to fight with itself, the virus that Noah had become inside of God was vicious and it never rested, continuously infecting more and more of the vast and immense divine soul of God, an entity that has lived for thousands of year.

Without rest at all, Noah continued to devour God's soul, stockpiling more and more power.

However, because this soul clone was disconnected from Noah's true body and main soul, all of this power simply became that of the clone.

Noah was also completely unaware of all of this, as he had suddenly been disconnected from its soul clone since the moment it sent it towards God, most likely due to the enormous distance between the earth's surface and the outer space where God rested, or perhaps because God had cut the connection, or something else completely.

Noah had already assumed that his clone might have perished, so he paid no mind to it and decided to continue to grow stronger in his own ways, while his soul clone continued to work hard to be of use for his main body, using its pawns, many of the minds within god that it had parasitized, and using them against the minds that were not parasitized which were opposing him and trying to assimilate him back to them.

All of such minds were of figures of admiration that had been kept alive since immemorable eras, there were even ancient Greek gods within such minds, although they were not at all the real ones but interpretations of humanity over many decades. In specific, Zeus and Hercules were the most famous, who had been adapted in a variety of movies, books, and all sorts of media. Even when humanity lost their faith, they still admired such figures of power that represented the beings above man and the connection between man and god.

Although they had been warped over time, these two figures were within the strongest minds of God, alongside the System Master, who was not the real one, but a mind copy made from the perception of people's beliefs of the System Master.

After all, after his appearance and the system creation, which helped humanity fight against the monsters and dungeons, the System Master was seen as a savior of humanity and had been used as a figure of religion ever since the apocalypse began, making up a large religion which around 40% of humanity was a member of.

Alongside Zeus, Hercules, and the System Master, two other figures within God were the ones that were the strongest minds within it, one was simply named "God" and was the personification of the monotheistic Christian God, and then another named The Devil, the personification of Christian representation of Lucifer, perhaps, although both were also warped and changed through many of the interpretations of God and the devil.

In specific, due to a famous movie of several years ago, God ended in the shape of an old black man with a white beard wearing a white suit, while the devil resembled a typical demon from cartoons, red-skinned, with big horns, bat-like wings, skinny, and holding a trident.

The System Master resembled the same as the real one, a figure made of the white light of humanoid shape, meanwhile, Zeus and Hercules resembled the figures they had been seen as in many of the entertainment media, Zeus was an old white man with a long white beard, muscles, and wearing a toga, with blazing aquamarine eyes, while Hercules resembled a youthful and handsome muscular man with chestnut-colored hair and eyes filled with life.

These were the five strongest minds within God, and the ones that Noah was now confronting, alongside their army of other Minds that were aiding them, who represented their servants or perhaps other lower yet popular historical or fantastical figures that humanity has known and inadvertently given a lot of attention through the ages.

Some of such minds were beings such as King Arthur and the Knights of the Table, although for some reason, due to the exploding popularity of a game 20 years ago and a franchise of the same name as the game, King Arthur was a woman… despite the original one having been a man.

The battle within God's soul resembled an enormous battlefield, where all of such figures emerged as ethereal representations of them, fighting in an enormous war that continued endlessly, but Noah was vicious, and slowly yet steadily devoured his way to the last five bosses…
