The Great Domain Violator was someone Lin Mu was familiar with. It was the person the Shadow Gloom Bone Lord used to be before he had died and transformed into the abomination he became.
The being had caused trouble for the Xiaofan world and had even threatened its very existence, but that was merely one of the thousand similar offenses it had committed. It was well known for destroying entire worlds for its own gain and had clashed with the Serpent Moon Sect in the past, gaining enmity with the Saintess.
The threat it posed was so immense that the entire Celestial Court had acted in unison to eliminate it. Yet, the cockroach-like Shadow Gloom Bone Lord had managed to survive, all thanks to the use of its avatars.
Seeing its name in the memories of the Withered Spirit Daoist was rather surprising to Lin Mu.
"The Great Domain Violator was affiliated with the Skull God Commandery too…" Lin Mu muttered, searching deeper into the memories for more details.
Before long, he uncovered additional information about the being. This new data pertained to its time after it had transformed into the Shadow Gloom Bone Lord.
'Upon his ascension to the Celestial Realm, the Shadow Gloom Bone Lord was said to have worked with the Left Arm of the Skull God Commandery. However, it seems that this was merely one of the avatars that chose to do so,' Lin Mu realized.
That was the extent of the information Lin Mu was able to glean about the Shadow Gloom Bone Lord. There didn't appear to be any direct interactions between the Withered Spirit Daoist and the abomination.
However, it was hard to tell if the same could be said for her master as a whole.
'Since the Shadow Gloom Bone Lord is mentioned here, could there be any more links to the Indigo World Hegemony?' Lin Mu wondered. With this thought in mind, he began to dig further into the memories about various locations and powers.
And sure enough, Lin Mu quickly found out more about the Indigo World Hegemony.
"There's quite a lot," Lin Mu remarked, raising his brows.
In the Withered Spirit Daoist's memories, the Indigo World Hegemony was noted as a neutral affiliate that had dealings with both her and her organization. She had visited several establishments run by the Indigo World Hegemony, engaging in trade and conducting business.
The Right Arm of the Skull God Commandery was not in good standing with the Celestial Court. As a result, they had to operate covertly whenever they needed to buy or sell goods. This was where the Indigo World Hegemony came in, acting as a reliable intermediary.
In addition to the Indigo World Hegemony, Lin Mu learned of other affiliated powers, such as the Burning Soul Incense Sect, the Slaughter Heaven War Sect, the Collapsing Polarity Sect, and the Dark Moon Nether Sect. Each of these sects was a top-tier power in the Celestial Realm's Unorthodox and evil factions, maintaining close ties with the Indigo World Hegemony.
Lin Mu noted their locations and specialties but quickly realized that most of the information was outdated, especially details about their key figures.
'I should keep these sects in mind. Given their prominence, they likely have connections to powers in the Immortal Realm as well, just like the Indigo World Hegemony does,' Lin Mu thought.
He had already confirmed that the Indigo World Hegemony had branches in the Immortal World, while its true base of power resided in the Celestial Realm.
'Then there's the Hundun Imperial Order too…' Lin Mu recalled. Xukong had been especially cautious when speaking about it and had told him only that they were bad news.
Curious, Lin Mu searched for any information on the Hundun Imperial Order in the Withered Spirit Daoist's memories but found nothing.
'Looks like it really is highly secretive,' Lin Mu concluded.
He ended up spending a considerable amount of time delving into the memories, learning more about the powers of the Celestial Realm and even the Immortal Realm. The Withered Spirit Daoist had traveled extensively during her time, leaving a treasure trove of knowledge behind.
Much like the memoirs of the Lost Immortal, the Withered Spirit Daoist's memories provided Lin Mu with an engaging and insightful experience. He got to learn about her as a person, and it was clear that her life before and after splitting her soul was vastly different.
As the Withered Spirit Daoist, she had been ruthless. However, her actual conflicts with others were far fewer than one might expect. In fact, Lin Mu reckoned that if he had met her Immortal Realm self, they could have even been friends.
But everything had changed once she ascended to the Celestial Realm.
Joining her liege had been the worst decision of her life, pushing her fully toward the extreme negatives of the Unorthodox Path.
In the cultivation world, there were three main factions—or rather, paths.
The first was the Orthodox Path, which represented righteousness and had been the dominant path since ancient times. The Temple of the Guardian Beasts and the Immortal Court were its most prominent representatives.
The second was the Unorthodox Path, a diverse collection of powers without a singular alignment. It was not as simple as labeling it good or evil.
The Unorthodox Path was better described as a "gray" faction, comprising individuals and sects that did not strictly adhere to Orthodox ideals. Despite its ambiguous nature, it was just as vast and powerful as the Orthodox Path. Many sects within the Unorthodox Path maintained alliances with Orthodox powers and even the Immortal Court itself.
Thus, being part of the Unorthodox Path did not necessarily mean one was evil. Even demons, often seen as violent, were usually considered part of this faction.
Finally, there was the Devil Path, the embodiment of true evil.
Both the Orthodox and Unorthodox factions were in opposition to the Devil Path, and it was viewed as the ultimate adversary by both sides with almost no opposition.
