Chapter 160 - TIME TO WORK
Chapter 160 - TIME TO WORK
"Introducing, Ellena Patricia Lubis. You can call her Patricia. Starting today, she will work as head of accounting in our company. I hope you can get to know each other and work well together," explained Richard introducing Ellena in front of his employees.
Ellena immediately gave a friendly smile to all the employees in the room. Some of them responded with the same thing, some of them seemed indifferent to their presence in that place.
"Good morning everyone. I'm Patricia. Nice to meet you all. I hope we can work well together," said Ellena to all the employees in the room.
Some of them seemed to respond positively. Especially male employees. However, there are also those who look indifferent and prefer to remain silent, although not much.
"Hallo, Miss Patricia. I am Erick, as an accounting staff. It seems ... from today I will be more enthusiastic about going to work, after you become my boss in this field," replied a man who claimed to be Erick. He seemed to smile kindly. However, immediately turned a little sensual.
This made Richard a little annoyed. However, he could not express or show his frustration in front of the other employees. Ah, looks like he has to be careful with that guy named Erick.
'Should I just transfer Erick's position to another field?' Richard muttered starting to worry about the woman who had been bothering him for the past two days. Without him knowing that actually Ellena already has a husband.
Luckily none of them knew Ellena's face. Yes, it's not in vain that he rarely appears in the mass media, when he was still with Lucas.
"Yes, you are absolutely right, Erick. Even I will be standing in front of the door, waiting for Miss Patricia to come." Jonathan replied heeding Erick's words.
"Ha ha ha!" Erick immediately responded with a laugh. He didn't even care about the company leader being there.
Yes, they knew very well how Richard was. The boss is always relaxed with other employees. However, he can get very angry when his employees make big mistakes, especially treason.
"Hi, Miss Patricia. I'm Jonathan. Nice to meet you." Jonathan said as he turned his gaze to Ellena, who was staring at him and also Erick.
Meanwhile, Ellena only responded with a forced smile. The actions of the two men actually seemed strange to her.
"Ah, you guys are exaggerating. Don't you see that there are so many beautiful women here?" snapped a woman while glaring at Ellena for a moment. The figure who had been looking displeased with Ellena's arrival.
"Stop! Please be polite to Miss Patricia!" said Richard, who had been unable to contain his anger.
Sometimes they are noisy in front of him. It really can't be left. Especially when the two men teased Ellena. Ah, it seems they have no ethics.
"Once again I see you are being disrespectful with Miss Patricia, I will cut your salary for 3 months!" threatened Richard as he held up three fingers in front of his employees.
It suddenly made all the creatures in the room jump, including Ellena. She didn't think that Richard would go that far in making a decision, just because of a joke that involved her.
Almost all the employees looked at Richard in surprise. It was unusual for the man to be angry over trivial matters, which obviously everyone also knew that it was just a joke. However, why today, the boss actually looks different? Scary.
"Sorry, Sir." Erick and Jonathan replied at the same time.
"Please don't repeat it, if you want to survive!" Richard insisted as he turned to the right, where Ellena was standing.
"Okay, Miss. I'll take you to the room," said Richard, smiling.
"Ahem!"
The sound of someone clearing her throat instantly caught Richard's attention. He glanced cynically at the bespectacled woman who was sitting not far from Erick.
"Why?" asked Richard curtly.
"N-no, Sir. My throat is just a little itchy." The woman replied, arguing, even though she was deliberately trying to make fun of her boss.
Yes, how not? Of the many new employees who entered this company, only this time the boss escorted the new employee to the workspace. Impressed he favored Ellena. Maybe that's what they had in mind.
"I wonder why you guys suddenly have no manners!" He grumbled and immediately took Ellena to a special room for the head of accounting.
They seemed to walk hand in hand, towards the room in question. Not far from the room where the employee was.
"This is your room, Patricia!" cried Richard as he just opened the door to the room and rushed in.
"It's a very comfortable place," said Ellena, looking around the 4 x 4 meter room. Beautiful with a minimalist style that is very aesthetic. Plus the pastel blue color that adorns the walls, making the room look more beautiful and comfortable.
"Do you like?" asked Ghibran as he stared intently at the two brown beads in front of him.
"Yes. Of course I like it," replied Ellena with a wide smile.
"I'm glad you like this room. Hope you enjoy working here, Patricia."
"As long as my boss doesn't fire me, I will definitely stay to work here, because this job is my only source of income," explained Ellena sadly.
"I can't possibly fire you, Miss. You take it easy." Richard put a smile on his face. "Oh yes, I apologize for the rudeness of my employees earlier. They really have no manners." He added feeling uneasy.
"You shouldn't be overreacting to them," said Ellena, lowering her head, then looking back at Richard. Feeling bad, because his presence had caused a commotion in the office.
"Never mind, Patricia. They really need to be warned, so they can respect others more." Richard replied looking relaxed.
"But I'm sure they were just joking and not serious with what they said," said Ellena trying to defend people she had only known for a few minutes.
"Whatever it is, they still don't deserve to treat you like that. Especially in front of me."
"Wh-what do you mean?" Ellena flinched slightly when she heard the statement that just came out of Richard's mouth.
"I-I mean … it's not proper for them to dare to tease you in front of their own superiors. Isn't that rude, Patricia?" Richard replied a little nervously.
"I'm fine. I'm just glad—"
"What? You like them teasing you?" Richard rolled his eyes. What she did not hear you correctly? How could Ellena like to be teased by the two employees. Aren't there other handsome men besides them? For example, him?
"N-no! That's not what I meant. I'm just happy to see those who seem to immediately accept me here," explained Ellena denying Richard's accusations.
"Yes, you're right, but they should know the place." Richard replied unwillingly.
"Think of it as our introduction. Hopefully they will change later," said Ellena as if she didn't want to prolong the problem. She smiled again.
"Just watch out if they dare bother you again, I'll make sure they won't receive a dime!" Richard insisted which actually made Ellena chuckle.
"You are exaggerating, Sir. Alright. Go to your study. Look! What time is it? Shouldn't we have started work? But why are you still standing here?" Ellena protested as she looked at the watch wrapped around her wrist. The time is already 07.50.
"Ah, you're right, Miss. Looks like we forgot about work." Richard replied with a chuckle. "Okay, I'll be out of here soon. You sit down and do a good job, if you need anything you can call me or another employee." Richard explained shortly before he left the place.
"Okay, you take it easy."
"Okay, I'll go first. Don't forget we have lunch together this afternoon," said Richard, which suddenly made Ellena gasp.
"I-"
"No refusal. I'll still have lunch with you. Bye!" Richard admitted that he didn't give Ellena a chance to speak, before he was completely out of the place.
Richard immediately left the room, while Ellena was seen sitting in a swivel chair behind her desk in her room.
Ellena's hands seemed to be placed on the edge of the chair. She then leaned back while looking up with a wide smile. Ah, looks like she's really happy to be working there.
"Finally I can work here with a pretty good position." She whispered.
After that, Ellena continued her activities as a normal employee at the place. The first day of work he was not too bothered by the work that seemed piled up. However, she was quite uncomfortable with some of the employees who often threw cynical attitudes at her.
Even so, she kept her cool and didn't want to care too much. Shouldn't he also understand that human characters are different. Now is the time she should be able to adapt well in a new environment for her.
Suddenly a knock on the door echoed through the room, causing her to flinch and turn her head towards the door.
"Enter!"
