It is not a masterpiece and the quality is quite average, however, it has been really good to me me now that I can't find anything to read, and it reminds me a lot of when I started my journey in Webnovels, this novel gives me a feeling of freshness. :D Why!? Why do people combine things that DON'T NEED TO BE COMBINED Well, let's get started with this review. First of all, I would like to point out that I will not talk about the quality of the text or its spelling. My level of English is mediocre and I rely on my friend Google to translate. So I'm the last person who can criticize this kind of thing. I will only speak here about my opinion of the story. We therefore follow Jerry in the Marvel world having a system which allows him to travel to several worlds (HP being simply the first of them). This is a decent fanfiction for those new to the genre or if you want to pass the time. But let's look for what I think are flaws for the pickiest among you.The MC gets strong too fast. Indeed Jerry will travel to several worlds, but each of these worlds will be too weak to constitute a real threat to him. Moreover, many of these worlds are not very interesting.Magic not exploited enough. The MC initially has HP magic, one of the most malleable among the magical universes. I expected more innovation in his magic spells. Too bad that most of the time he just copies existing spells. Magic is as versatile as technology, it's a shame not to exploit this potential.A poorly operated system. The system has no problem in itself, just that it is poorly used by the author. Indeed, the system of this novel simply aims at dimensional transport between different worlds, but also the possibility of consuming points (called Stars in the book) to facilitate the learning of magic. The problem here is that the MC only uses his points when reading books, making Jerry's progress boring to follow. I can't repeat it enough, but in a novel whose theme is the increase in strength of its MC, you have to make his way of progressing in strength interesting to read. For example, between an MC who only reads magic books to become stronger and an MC who must research magic to become stronger, we guess which one is more interesting to follow.A fishtail ending. I understand that Jerry becomes too strong at the end so that it is no longer interesting to follow him having adventures like this. But this is not an excuse to botch an ending. The author could have given us the identity of the person who gave the system to Jerry, there is no need to experience adventure for that. It feels like the author cut the story short before it was finished. Now let's talk about the last problem, a recurring problem with most fanfiction, at least that's my opinion. I'm taking advantage of my review here to talk about it:The MC's personality is not suited to the work used in the fanfiction. Let me explain, there are several types of MC, the selfish, the vigilant, the cheeky, the lazy, the cautious, ... In short, there is no shortage of types. In normal novels, the personality of the MC is adapted to his universe (For example a selfish MC will tend to live in a world where the majority is selfish, the most obvious example are Chinese martial arts novels where everyone world is selfish).But fanfiction works differently. The world used in a fanfiction does not belong to the author. So in principle the author of a fanfiction must adapt the MC personality to the type of universe borrowed in his story. For example, take the world of the anime Fairy Tail, it's a story that promotes friendship and family. If you put a selfish MC in that kind of world, he'll be a stain. Faced with Fairy Tail characters who act out of justice and friendship, an MC who only acts out of profit will seem petty compared to them. And a fan fiction reader will make this comparison unconsciously, and will end up not liking the MC.In addition to seeming petty, this will create a barrier between the MC and the world characters used in the fanfiction. This time let's take the example of Jerry in the Marvel universe. Jerry and a selfish MC type, although he can easily help in a situation, he will rarely do so without being able to gain something in return or if it doesn't earn a star for his system. Result, in a universe where each hero acts in the name of justice, we have Jerry who only acts for profit, he does not save others out of kindness, but only because it benefits him. So, no matter how badass and powerful Jerry is, we compare him to characters like Iron Man, Thor or Captain America, who are weaker, but who are full of ideals and who save others without asking for anything in return. , Jerry comes across as a mean-spirited cheapskate with a narrow view of the world. In short, we are not particularly attached to him. I therefore find that Jerry's personality is not suited to this fanfiction, which I find a shame. In conclusion, a decent fanfiction for those who can accept some imperfection. I think it's an ideal novel to pass the time when you have nothing left to read. I hope I have enlightened you, wishing you a good reading. (I would like to point out that I read the entire novel on another site, so this review was written after my full reading.) 3/10 grammer is mid author only has half baked knowledged on EVERYTHING marvel half backed harry potter half baked everything makes up shit all the time the red stars he uses are inconsistent uses a few hundred each day for and gains hundreds of thousands and yet still somehow runs out 246 chapters in barely anything substantial other then predetirmined shit that everyone knows is gonna happen since its a ff it just sucks why combine things? I had to ignore some of MC's decision making and constant plot armor to even continue reading. His university life is pretty boring, so if you skipped a couple chapters here and there you wouldn't really be missing anything. There's a few things I have a beef with. MC should never have brought his 10yr old sister with him. Leaving her with the Lu family is the most reasonable and safer route. MC has been in a lot of life and death situations but when he gets interrogated by authorities his cool and calm attitude is gone, and reverts back to your average wimpy 19yr old. The only good trait about MC is he puts in the work. As of chapter 330The characters are well done, story is great but a slow burn for major stuff which isn't bad, romance is believable and the mc is realistic.The MCs blessing has upsides but its downsides are near crippling and he has to find ways around it to be able to fight at all.SpoilerMC seems to have an advantage with summoning magic for reasons not yet divulged, only thing I found grating but hopefully they have decent reasoning behind it. can we get a solid review here up to 300+ chaps? An academy, empty power ups, some oohs and aahs and that's all really. it isn't very clear. I think author is confused about which direction he wants to build this story.Spoilerat one point he acts arrogant in front of his class because he wants to follow the plot but the next moment he wants to "conqueror" the heroine which is going against the plot simultaneously. Dense Protagonis Naah i am good. Hate that ?? shit to guts. Same I read it once. It was fine, but the finale ended with a harem. Which was disappointing. Might has well have no synopsisThe man's got an image to maintain, but isn't quite equipped with all the skills he needs to maintain that image. There's lots of exposition and the prose doesn't flow so much like gentle water as it does like pebbles tumbling down a cliffside. It's not bad per-say, but I can imagine it getting grating the more you read. There's lots of telling with very little to break it up, and the narration itself isn't entertaining enough to make up for that. Still, it's a lot better than I was expecting, with readable sentences and decent descriptions.The dialogue is just fine; the usual sorta messy banter that probably reads better in the original language. The characters themselves are distinct so far, which makes up for that, but whether or not they remain one-note stereotypes or are improved beyond that; it's honestly kinda impossible to tell.We've seen the premise before and the world is your standard VR thing, so this is a story that'll probably depend on the actual plot development and how that simple idea is developed. I'd say the characters would carry this, but I can't imagine any of the characters introduced thus far being able to do that.Overall, a lot better than I was expecting it to be, but sort of hampered by the writing style and the boring main character. Give it a shot, a solid high-6ish out of ten, might reach a 7 if it improves.My synopsis;NPC-VR novel with the MC's main goal being escape. The longer the novel goes on, the more the author's self-insert comes to the surface, because this author has no idea how to write the character he started out with and decided to switch him out entirely. Some people might claim this is character development, but to me, the contrast is so jarring it's like some doppelganger just replaced the mc. The author tries to give many reasons for this change, that the mc was shown familial love for the first time and decided to just stop loving murder...as if that translates in any way, and later on he even claims that nature energy is the reason behind the mc's drastic change in personality...and i truly mean drastic: the mc goes from alleged psychopath to gary stu - he even starts regretting murdering his enemies, feeling that they might have families, he also starts caring deeply about child soldiers and his inner monologues become a crying sniveling fest of pointless drivel boohoo poor me and all this war around me...ugh. I would have been fine with the mc being a kind character from the get-go, it's just that this so called character progression is too damn abrupt...i decided to treat chapter 107 as the ending for this novel, which to me, is quite apt since it could be considered a decent enough ending to leave it on. The overall journey was alright, some cool moments here and there, so i would rate it 3 stars, an average read. It would be surprising if a serial killer was a rational person. Also, why should we feel sorry for a serial killer, motherf#cker? Ain't no way the cover is the birdbox girl ripped as hell ?? Many characters are given perspective chapters that you won’t necessarily understand at the start.Also be prepared for the MCs to be very different. SPOILERSRyun is a jaded, almost emotionless mostly insane shell of a man at the start, while Zack is a more classic hero - someone who believes in the ideals of the government, and is out for revenge.Most people will like Ryun a lot more than Zack, which isn’t helped by him getting more “screentime” early on. The gods want more people to do this because whoever gets the most will become the one True God. The MC also writes reviews for the “Gods” that he watched videos for and somehow they are so extremely good that every person who reads them will automatically subscribe to that god. This leads to the gods trying everything they can to make him endorse them the most. The asian supremacy suckfest comes in when for some reason very obscure Asian historical figures or local legends have a abilities that are more overpowered than those of literal gods. MC wants to travel around really fast and instead of choosing a god of travel and realm traversing he chooses a robin hood-esque figure that tricked officials into believing he was in multiple places using by using body doubles. Apparently this was based off of a movie, kinda like that one robinhood movie with the exact same premise made ten years earlier or the book made a century or two before the korean version was supposedly to have existed. The Mc also chooses a Korean court physician’s acupuncture skill (because of course) to fix a real medical condition because acupuncture is a real and true medical treatment that isn’t likely to cause nerve damage even when performed by “trained” or “skilled” professionals. And I’ve went on a tangent.Translation wise it has the same grammatical problems as most Korean translations, and the using of Korean and other Asian mythos/historical figures can be written of because you write for your audience not logical consistency. Overall I’d give it a 4-5/10. Not recommended. I think I understand why he chose that Robin Hood-esque figure. That sounds like it gives an ability like teleportation or body-swap with body doubles. I don't know a specific god with either of those abilities (they probably exist, but still).The court physician can be more easily explained. I know of gods of healing but not of medicine. If you see a list of names, you probably choose the one you recognize as what you are looking for (in this case, famous physician = medical skill which is renowned and you know some deeds about). And if we assume that the strength of a god's power is based on how many believe in it or its deeds. Then, that court physician may have become a deity or saint because of all people believing in his deeds, etc., which have then strengthened his medical skill.It seems to be based on some kind of renown(faith). The main reason all the Gods want him to subscribe to them is because he leaves extremely well written reviews, which help the Gods achieve more subscribers.The MeTube stuff is not the main focus at all. It is used quite a bit at the start since he is extremely sickly - barely able to walk, constantly coughing blood etc. But after he stabilises a bit, it mainly focuses on the game and completing Quests, achievements etc.Speaking of the system, nothing is really explained well, which leads to some things which don't really make sense, specifically around Levelling. He defeats multiple extremely high level opponents/monsters, like in their 20s, and 1 opponent in the 80s, yet the first time we see his system stats after that he is only Level 5. No explanation around how EXP or stats work or how he gets/applies them.The issue with the Gods thing is that the choice of Gods and how they interact just feels really odd. His first choice is an Eastern God who focuses on Acupunture and Decoctions, which he needs to survive. He has very few subscribers, yet somehow later on is shown having a conversation with Ares, God of War.His second subscription is to Hercules, which is fair enough I guess. He gets a breathing method skill and a skill to see monsters weakspots/levels.But the third one feels kinda off. He looks for a teleport/portal ability and finds an Eastern God with only 1 review that grants the ability to fast travel to places you've visited before, which is amazing. But he looks into, and skips over, some really strong Gods, like Hermes, who apparently just gives you winged shoes skill for subscribing, and who has pretty bad reviews for.It feels weird to me that this random God has an amazing fast travel skill, yet doesn't have tons of subscribers/reviews.
