Chapter 119: Do I know you?

"Didn't you say you were going to send a picture to Aaron before you eat?'' Liyah asked remind August. She had said she would send a picture of the delicacy to Aaron before they eat.

''Oops, I almost forgot''. August removed her phone and took pictures of their food and sent it to Aaron adding a teasing text to it. ''Done, let's eat''. Liyah smiled and started eating.

SAINT GROUP.

CONFERENCE ROOM.

Aaron Saint was listening to one of the managers giving a report when his phone buzzed. He picked it from the table and slide it open revealing a wallpaper of August smiling. It was a picture he took when they went to the yacht the other time. She looked so pretty in the purple dress Liyah made for her.

Aaron looked at the picture of different dishes August sent and smiled. He scrolled and looked at all the dishes before sending a message to her.

DIN RESTAURANT.

August ate as she chatted with Aaron on the phone. Liyah snatched the phone away saying ''will you concentrate on the food first?''

''I will. I'm just giving my address to Aaron. He wants to know where we are''. August said and took the phone from Liyah and quickly sent a text to Aaron before putting the phone away.

August burped after finishing the food on the table and laughed. ''Whoa, I am so satisfied. Big sis, can I have some of your chicken?'' August asked.

''Didn't you just say you were satisfied?'' Liyah asked looking at August.

''I did, but, your chicken looks so good I want to taste it, please, pretty please:'. August begged. Liyah picked a chicken thigh and placed it on August's empty plate and she grinned happily.

They both soon finished their meals and the waiter walked to them with their dessert and placed it on the table. He looked nervous as he placed the plates down just that neither Liyah nor August noticed. Earlier in the kitchen, before sending the food he had added the powder Lorca gave to him into the desserts.

Lorca had called him early offering him a huge sum of money and asking him to put the powder into their food and he agreed. He felt bad for the ladies but his greed didn't allow his guilt to play him for long. He was a known gambler who was in debt so the money offered by Lorca was like a saving grace.

When he placed the plates down his hands were still shaking and August noticed it and asked worriedly ''are you alright? Your hands are shaking?''.

''I'm fine, just a little tired'' the waiter said.

''Why don't you take a break? You need to rest if you are tired or else you will just be a nuisance to the customers. Do you want me to talk to your manager for you?'' Liyah asked.

''No, you are my last guests so I can take a rest after I finish with you'' the waiter said with a smile.

''Alright, then you may go. We will be done quickly so that you can rest''. Liyah said and picked her fork to eat the dessert. The waiter smiled and watched them before turning away to go. August looked at the dessert and started eating.

After taking a bit August felt that it tasted weird and said to Liyah ''don't you find it a little weird? The dessert tastes weird''.

''You're right. I don't think I can finish it. let's leave it and go. The waiter is probably waiting for us to leave so that he can clear the table''. Liyah and August took two bits before pushing the plates away. The waiter who was standing at a distance noticed this and frowned. Liyah and August stood up and picked their bags before going towards the door.

On their way out, Lorca who was sitting at the other corner side and saw that they barely ate the poisoned dessert, he became furious and decided to attack in another way.

As August and Liyah walked towards them he stood up and walked out before they did.

Liyah's car was sent to the parking space by the valet at the entrance so they had to walk a distance to get there for the car. Liyah and August came out of the restaurant and the sun was out. It was probably because it was early March and the weather was extremely hot in March.

This was the time that most people wear light and thin clothes.

Liyah and August chatted as they walked towards the car park. A man dressed in black with a cap covering his head walked towards them and bumped into August and her bag fell down. August stood stupefied looking at the man. It seemed like he had purposefully bumped into her just now and August didn't understand why. The place they walked was an opened space and the path was equally opened so bumping into other people at such a place was unlikely. josei

Liyah also felt the same way. She clearly saw the man walking towards them and felt suspicious about his movements. She had wanted to pull August to her side but it was late because the man bumped straight into August and the bag was now on the floor. The man looked at them without saying anything. His gaze was directed to August specifically as if he was searching for something on her face.

Liyah had never met Lorca before so she didn't know who he was though she had heard of his name. It was only normal that she didn't recognise the man standing in front of them at that moment but she still couldn't help but be suspicious about his actions so when the man bent down to pick the bag Liyah shouted at him ''don't…pick the bag''. Lorca stopped midway and his hand hanged in the air.

Liyah bent down at that moment and took the bag that was almost in Lorca's hand away and he looked at them. ''Shouldn't you apologise for doing that? I think it was intentional''.

Lorca frowned under the cap and masked it before looking at the ladies with a smile. ''It definitely wasn't intentional Ma'am, but still I am sorry''. Lorca said.

''The path is so wide, correct me if I am wrong but I think I saw you in the restaurant just now. You sat in front of us, right?'' Liyah asked. Though she wasn't paying attention, she still remembered vaguely seeing him when they entered and made their way to their table. She also saw the waiter talking to him after taking their order. But why would he bump into them when they didn't even know each other.

Liyah was naturally a smart person so she started suspecting the man soon enough.

''Ma'am, did you get the wrong person? I don't know what you are talking about''. Lorca said with a sly smile and turned to look at August Maijune. August still stood stupefied and zoned out without saying a word and just stared at the man. Time seemed to have stopped for her the moment she saw the man's face. It felt strangely familiar though she didn't know where.

'Then, I will take my leave first, your friend seems like she is going to pass out though''. Lorca said and turned to go but felt a tight grip on him.

The grip felt familiar and a flash of terror crossed his eyes for a second but quickly vanished. He slowly put his left hand in his pocket ready to remove the dagger stuck in his pocket.

''Wait!!!'' August finally spoke turning to look at Lorca coldly and Liyah looked at them.

''Is there anything I can help you with, young lady?'' Lorca asked forcing a smile all the while ready to remove the dagger. He was ready to kill August Maijune there and then if she happened to recognise him.

''Do…I know you?'' August asked suddenly and Lorca's hand relaxed. It looked like she was his niece August Maijune at the moment and she still couldn't remember a thing.

With a smirk he said ''does this Miss have some interest in me? I don't think I know you though?''

''Then, I must be mistaken. I thought you were someone I knew. Since is not the case, then, I am sorry for being rude just now''. August said and let go off her grip on him and turned to Liyah ''big sis, let's go''.

Lorca turned and watched silently as Liyah and August walked away to their car. He clutched his fists together angrily and turned to go and a scene captured his attention.

August Maijune had collapsed!!!

Liyah got to their car and switched the engine on before opening the door. Everything happened so suddenly and swiftly that she had little time to react. She clearly saw August opening the passenger door but before she realised August had fallen down.

Liyah immediately ran to her side and held her. there were a couple also getting down from their car and when they saw this they ran to their side and some passers-by also joined. Lorca walked slowly closer to the scene cautiously. This was his perfect chance but everything backfired because now a lot of people were at the scene and it was impossible to abduct them.

''Please call 119''. Liyah held unto August as she spoke to the couple. The man nodded responding fast and dialled the emergency line.

Liyah vaguely saw Lorca smiling at a distance as she screamed holding unto August as her own vision started blurring.
