Chapter 1273  Unexpected Surprise (Part 2)

When Evan explained the negative effects of the Balance Weaver skill, Sylvan's heart sank.

The thought of Carla facing life-threatening crises on a daily basis naturally made him uneasy.

He definitely didn't want her to go through such a perilous existence. What made it even worse was the realization that if Carla accidentally died again after being revived, even with the Balance Weaver skill, Evan wouldn't be able to bring her back to life a second time... And because of the dangers brought by the daily life-threatening crises, the chances of her dying again would not be low.

Ashley and Alaric also frowned as they listened to the details of the Balance Weaver skill.

The thought was unnerving. Even they, as Rank Five and Rank Six Core Evolvers found the idea of constantly living under the threat of death unbearable.

Knowing that one's life was always in danger would rob a person of peace, making it impossible to live properly, let alone think about anything else.

Evan understood how serious this negative effect was, which was why he took the time to explain why he had considered reviving Carla despite the risk.

When it came to life-threatening crises, Evan had faced many of them himself due to the ill fortune brought about by his Doom Bringer Bloodline.

However, there was one thing he had realized from all his experiences: as long as you are strong enough, you can not only overcome such crises but also reap immense rewards that significantly enhance your strength.

Take his most recent experience as an example. For any other Rank Two Core Evolver, being sent to the Azragoth World, where one must face hundreds of thousands of Eldritch Creatures far stronger than oneself, would have been a certain death sentence.

Unless they spent the entire time in hiding after being sent to Azragoth World, they would undoubtedly perish.

But because Evan's strength far surpassed that of an ordinary Rank Two Core Evolver, not only did he survive, but he also gained tremendous benefits.

His rank advanced from the peak of Rank Two to mid-level Rank Three. Additionally, the millions of Eldritch Creatures he brought back with him would be invaluable to his future plans.

Beyond that, he obtained the core of the Azragoth World and managed to evolve the Primordial Shadow Realm to the next level.

On top of it all, Florita captured two Rank Six Core Evolvers from the Origin Universe.

Not only could Evan extract crucial information about the Origin Universe from them, but once his rank reached the appropriate level, he could also add them to his shadow army.

When he thought about his own strength, Evan had to admit that even with his abilities—which were far superior to others of the same rank—he wouldn't have been able to overcome the crisis in Azragoth World without his shadow undeads.

Without his shadow undeads, even if those Rank Six Core Evolvers from the Origin Universe hadn't arrived, it would have been almost impossible for him to survive against Velgoth and his army.

However, when his shadow undeads entered the equation, no matter the crisis, he always found a way to prevail.

His shadow undeads could be considered the nemesis of every danger he faced, solving problems that would otherwise have been insurmountable.

Not to mention his Realm Guardian Authority, which he can use to summon Florita, whose strength is far higher than an average rank six core evolver.

Even Evan's other shadow undeads were extremely powerful.

This is especially true now, after he gained the bloodline ability Life Steal, which can elevate the ranks of his shadow undeads to entirely new heights.

Even now, he had Gobu, Elysia, Zorda, and several other shadow undeads who were already Rank Four and even among Rank Four Core Evolvers, they were considered extraordinarily strong.

Combined with Evan's own strength and skills, the only beings who could currently threaten his life in Utopia were Rank Six Core Evolvers.

After carefully analyzing everything, Evan concluded that the life-threatening crises he faced were proportional to his strength. As his strength grew, the severity of the crises increased as well.

If this logic applied to Carla, the life-threatening crises she would face would also depend on her own strength.

At this point, Evan wasn't certain what Carla's condition would be after her revival. Would she retain her previous state as a mid-level Rank Two Core Evolver, or would she revert to being a normal person and have to start from scratch?

If she became an ordinary person, the crises she would encounter would only be those that could threaten an ordinary individual. However, if her strength remained unchanged after the revival, then the crises she would face would align with the dangers posed to a Rank Two Core Evolver.

In the Closed World of Drayds, however, even a crisis capable of threatening a Rank Six Core Evolver could be resolved with ease, not to mention crises faced by a Rank Two Core Evolver.

Moreover, Evan planned to assign high-level shadow undeads to stay with Carla at all times.

Currently, he has fifty thousand shadow undeads. Even if he allocated a thousand to Carla, it wouldn't make a significant impact on his forces.

Not to mention, he was close to reaching Rank Four, at which point the number of shadow undeads he could control would increase again.

Of course, the idea that life-threatening crises scaled with a person's strength was merely Evan's hypothesis. But based on his experiences, he was at least ninety percent certain it was accurate.

When he discussed this theory with Anastasia, she also agreed with his reasoning.

Despite the risks involved in reviving Carla through the Balance Weaver skill, Evan had decided to propose it for two important reasons.

The first was that, according to the skill's description, evolving the Balance Weaver skill required completing the second level of Blood Assimilation. He was unsure how long it would take to complete this process, and he didn't even know if evolving the skill would reduce its negative effects or not.

If it reduces the negative effect, then it would be good, but if it doesn't reduce the negative effects, then it would delay Carla's revival for nothing.

The second and most important reason...
