Chapter 1169 Protective Over His Wife

Although Gilbert’s attitude was uncompromising and his expression was cold, Kisa still felt a little bit of warmth from his actions. After returning to the villa, Gilbert asked Kisa to go upstairs and rest, and told her that he would bring her dinner. Madalyn did not get mad at her either and just let her rest instead.

Kisa was surprised by their irregular attitude but did not bother to know why. Since they were treating her well, she decided to just accept it

For dinner, Gilbert brought her various dishes and some bone broth. Kisa looked at the small coffee table that was filled with food and looked at the man amusedly. “How could I possibly finish so much food?” She said.

. “Don’t be modest. I know you have a great appetite,” Gilbert replied expressionlessly.

Kisa’s face darkened. “I had a big lunch because I was hungry.”

“You ate a huge breakfast too.”

“That’s because…”

“Alright. It’s not a shameful thing to have a good appetite. Grandma and I would be happier if you ate more.”

“Why?” Kisa was puzzled. It’s not like they were raising her as a pig that they could sell for a lot of money.

“The weather’s getting cold. Eat the food while it’s hot. Ring the call button by the bed if you need anything,” the man said and walked out of the room.

“Where are you going?” Kisa subconsciously asked.

“Downstairs for dinner,” he replied.

“You haven’t eaten yet?” she asked again.

“I was afraid you’d be hungry, so I brought you your dinner first.” Gilbert’s tone was calm, but it disturbed her heart.

She pursed her lips and said, “Actually, there’s no need to bring me food. I can-”

“Okay, eat. I’m going downstairs.” The man went out after speaking while Kisa stared blankly at the food on the coffee table.

The dishes were served on small plates, which made them look incredibly delicate. It was as if they had been specially prepared just for her.

Kisa sat down at the table with complex emotions. She did not understand what was going on with Gilbert and Madalyn.

In the study, Gilbert and Davian were on a video call.

“The registrant of Risen Enterprise is Mia Fallon and no one else. I think they built this

company to take Shaun’s place in GK as an opportunity to grow their own business. Now that Shaun has been kicked out of GK, Risen Enterprise shouldn’t be able to cause more trouble,” Davian said.

“And Kisa was the one who fired him?”

“Yup, I heard from a few of the staff members that Mrs. Kooper and Shaun had a huge fight that day, and he left after that.” Dayian hesitated for a few seconds and continued, ” Mrs. Kooper also said that

she didn’t know about the contracts today and that Shaun had made them up all by himself.”

Gilbert leaned back against the chair and stayed quiet. Davian could not figure out what he was thinking about, so he said, “Actually, I don’t believe her. If she really did not know about them, why did she sign the contract last time? It doesn’t make any sense.”

“Stop. Don’t mention that matter again.”

“…Okay,” Davian pursed his lips. He knew that Gilbert was protective over his wife.

“By the way, Mr. Kooper, Mr. Webb Sr. from Oceanville sent a message again. He’s urging you to meet him there when you have the time.”

Gilbert frowned. “Try to push it back for me.”

“But… Mr. Kooper, didn’t you stop going to the Mullen residence? You should have some time to go to the Webb residence. I mean, you don’t have that much on your plate recently.” “Let’s wait three more months.”

‘Kelvin said that the child in Kisa’s stomach would need three months for their condition to stabilize.’

Gilbert was worried about leaving her alone in Calthon, so he kept postponing the meeting. “Mr. Kooper…” As he was thinking about it, Davian suddenly called out, hesitating to speak.
