Reborn Through Fire By Kazuya Higan Chapter 1197

Chapter 1197 Is This How Much You Trust Me?

Gilbert lowered his gaze and looked at her without saying anything.

Kisa hated the silence and being in that position, so she reached out and shoved him softly.

“I’ve already apologized to you. I wouldn’t have done that if you didn’t limit my freedom. Ultimately, it’s you and your mom’s fault.”

“I asked you if you want to come to Athadale that night. What did you tell me? Hm?”

Kisa looked away embarrassingly. “It’s true that I didn’t want to come, but I don’t have a choice.”

“Stop finding excuses!” he grunted.

Gilbert was so mad that it looked like he was about to swing his fist at her.

Kisa leaned back and said softly, “Stop it. Even though I lied to you, you didn’t lose

anything. I figured that since you didn’t want to see me, I should just come to Athadale and stay out of your sight. In that way, everybody can be happy.”

After hearing what her words, Gilbert got so mad that he was left speechless.

‘What did I do to make her feel like I didn’t want to see her?‘

“Gilbert, stop being mad. I won’t lie to you anymore.”

Kisa had no choice but to try to give in and calm him down after noticing how furious he got.

However, the man chuckled. “You said the same thing previously, but what happened?”

“You can’t put the blame on me because you were the one who limited my freedom!”

“I also told you that I’d come here with you if you want, yet you made me believe in your lies and came here secretly anyway.”

“Were you worried that I won’t keep my promise?

“Is this how much you trust me?”

Gilbert looked at her. His gaze looked hostile still, but with a hint of sadness this time.

For some reason, Kisa felt guilty even though she had not done anything to hurt him.

‘What the hell is wrong with me?‘

Kisa pursed her lips before she said to Gilbert, “Okay, I was wrong. Let’s stop fighting over this. It’s getting late and we should just get ready for bed. We still have to attend Mr. Mullen Sr.’s birthday celebration tomorrow.”

Gilbert stared at her without saying anything.

It seemed like he could not get over how Kisa lied to him.

Kisa did not know what to do. She felt very uncomfortable getting pinned against the door by Gilbert like that.

She pushed the man again and quickly began to vow and swear, “Listen, I promise I won’t lie to you anymore. If I ever did again, I… ugh!”

Gilbert put his hand on her lips before she could finish her sentence.

He spoke in a hostile tone, almost like he was scolding her. “I didn’t say anything. What are you swearing for?”

“Your angry face is enough to make me do it.”

Kisa mumbled under her breath.

Gilbert glared at her. No matter how angry he was, he could never bring himself to hurt her in any way.

He rested one of his hands on the side of her head with the other on her stomach.

Kisa’s belly was still very flat, so he could not feel anything with his hand.

However, his heart was immediately filled with warmth and happiness when he thought of his baby inside of her.

“Have you been feeling unwell today?”

The man asked softly, sounding completely different from before.

Kisa looked at him and felt like his emotions fluctuated way too fast.

He was clearly just burning with anger a second ago.

However, he acted so gently as if he loved her very much now.

Kisa shook her head puzzledly. “Nope.”

“What about your period? Is everything normal?” novelbin

He wanted to ask if she was on her menstruation yet. However, he figured that it might be too abrupt for him to ask about that and she would get suspicious, so he backtracked.

Having a grown man ask about her period made Kisa feel very embarrassed.
