Chapter 1252 I Can Only Feel Safe Around You

‘Did this woman lose her memory or has she forgotten everything that happened since she’s too tired?’

Kisa was the one who had hugged him as if he was a bolster as soon as he came back and slept on the bed last night.

Besides, she even opened her eyes drowsily and said, “You’re back. I don’t have to be scared now.”

However, Gilbert could not figure out why Kisa asked him such a question.

‘Did she experience a blackout, or did she mistake me for somebody else?

‘Ugh!’ He suddenly felt angry at the thought.

Gilbert pursed his lips and walked toward her.

His face was stone-cold and his shirt was fully buttoned. It made him look harsh and indifferent.

“I came back around two last night and I woke up at seven this morning.”

“Oh…” Kisa nodded. She could not help but shiver after reminding herself of that nightmare she just had.

She would have nightmares occasionally, but the one she just had was just too spine-chilling.

Besides, she felt like something was pinning her down too. The suffocation and inability to move or make a sound felt a little too real.

And that creepy laughter did not sound fake either.

Also, the sound of the door opening…

She looked at Gilbert, “Did you come in just now?”

Gilbert brought his brows together and shook his head. “I went to read the newspaper in the backyard after I woke up because I didn’t want to disturb you.”

Kisa’s hair stood on end instantly.

‘Who was the person who came in and laughed creepily beside the bed then?’

‘This is scary. Something’s not right with this house. I’ve got to figure out what happened with David and get out of here as soon as possible.’

She suddenly grabbed Gilbert’s hand. She just woke up, so her voice sounded a little hoarse and feeble.

She looked at the emotionless man in front of her. “Would you come back earlier and sleep with me after today? Also, stop waking up so early.”

“Why?” Gilbert looked at her and said calmly and indifferently.

Kisa exhaled and said, “I’m scared. This house is too scary, and it makes me have nightmares. I don’t want to be alone.”

The man looked at her coldly. “You were the one who wanted to stay here alone so I wouldn’t ruin your plan, no? Now you’ve finally realized you actually need my help, huh?”

Kisa smiled awkwardly. “What are you talking about? I’ve always wanted to be with you. That’s the only time I can feel safe.”

The man lifted the edge of his mouth subconsciously, but he still sounded infuriated.

“Fine. Go take a shower now. Don’t you know what time it is already? Aren’t you hungry?”

“Okay…”

Kisa got up and went to the bathroom to take a shower.

There was sweat all over her body and it made her feel very sticky and uncomfortable.

Gilbert smirked again when he looked at the bathroom door closing.

It was not very obvious, but he was clearly in a good mood as his eyes looked very affectionate.

He liked it when Kisa said that she would only feel safe around him.

Whether Kisa was just trying to ingratiate him on purpose or just blabbering, Kisa’s words made him feel overjoyed.

Kisa took a hot shower and she felt very relaxed.

She covered her body with a towel. Then, she went to the mirror, and she was about to brush her

teeth.

However, she was startled by what she saw in the mirror and screamed.

The bathroom door burst open.

Gilbert went over and asked in a worried voice.

“What’s wrong?”

He hugged Kisa from behind and asked deeply.

Kisa’s body was tensed as she pointed at the mirror and said shakily, “L-Look… Look at what’s on

the mirror…”
