Chapter 1298 I Can’t Outplay You

Before Kisa could turn around, Gilbert had already stridden over and grabbed her arm, looking anxious. “Why are there bloodstains on your pants? Are you feeling unwell somewhere? Does your belly hurt?”

Kisa looked at him with all seriousness. From the worry on his face, she could surely tell that he knew that she was pregnant. She tilted her head and smiled at him absently. “It is just my time of the month. Why are you so worried?”

“Time of the month?”

“Yeah, didn’t you have Kelvin examine me last time? It is just my period. It is irregular; so after ten days or so, it came back again.”

Gilbert stared at her sullenly. “Come with me to see the doctor.”

“No need.” Kisa pulled her arm back and smiled faintly. “Hasn’t Kelvin already examined me? I’m having irregular menstruation. Kelvin is a genius physician; he won’t misdiagnose it.”

Gilbert took a deep breath and seemed a little anxious but did not know what to say.

Kisa looked quietly at his desperate face. After a long moment, and she still had not heard him tell her it was not a period but that she was pregnant, Kisa sneered in her mind, ‘Keeping things from me is more important than the safety of the child. Kisa took a deep breath, feeling frustrated. No matter his reason for doing this, she could not feel happy about it. ‘What if I’m not careful and lose the baby? If that happens, it is still I who will be heartbroken.‘ Gilbert looked sullen, standing there, and said nothing. She walked past him into the elevator without wanting to talk to him.

“You are pregnant.” He spoke finally. His voice was deep, and his tone slow and calm.

Kisa paused in her tracks, turning to look at him. “When did you find out?”

Gilbert was a little annoyed and took out a cigarette. As if worried about something, he fiddled with the cigarette between his fingers instead of lighting it. Finally, he said faintly, “Right after Sharon caused you to miscarry.”

“Heh.” Kisa snickered. “Why don’t you keep it from me forever? I thought you could do so?”

“I’m doing it for… for…”

“For what?”

Gilbert did not know how to respond–looking even more frustrated, inadvertently crushing the cigarette between his fingers.

Knowing that he would never tell her the reason for keeping the fact of her pregnancy from her, Kisa did not bother to ask again. “You go home. I will accompany Lea for a while.”

Seeing Kisa walking toward the elevator, he tugged at her. “You are bleeding. Aren’t you worried? Don’t you care about the baby?”

Kisa laughed in anger when she heard that. “Do you even care? Then why did you f*cking keep it from me and even conspire with Kelvin if you care? You are afraid I will go for an abortion, aren’t

you? I can’t outplay you, Gilbert.” She shook off his hand in anger.

Gilbert’s face had turned grim. “I dare you to scold me again!”

“I scold you?” Kisa sneered. “It is a waste of time to scold you. All right, you go home now. I don’t want to see you.”

Kisa quickly entered the elevator, not bothering to talk to him again. The moment the elevator door was about to close, Gilbert stepped in. Kisa ignored him and turned her back on him. But the bloodstain on her pants was so conspicuous that it was a constant source of irritation to him.

“Come with me to see the doctor:” He commanded. His voice was cold and contained a tinge of worry.

“I’m not going,” Kisa said.

Gilbert narrowed his eyes and reached out to grab her. Kisa dropped something in her hand to the floor in the middle of the struggle.
