Chapter 1303 Caught in The Act

Suddenly, a loud voice sounded. Mr. Mullen Sr. had caught them in the act. Arthur was frightened to death. He kept pushing Kisa to go and show herself. Kisa gave him a contemptuous look and walked out boldly. ‘There’s nothing to be afraid of; I did nothing wrong.’

“Oh, Mrs. Kooper,” Mr. Mullen Sr. laughed. The mottled light shone on his face, making the smile on his face look insincere and a little sinister.

Kisa greeted him with a smile, “Good evening, Mr. Mullen Sr. It looked nice out, so I decided to walk around the backyard.” After saying that, she looked around with some suspicion and said, What is this place? Seems rather mysterious.”

“It’s the Mullen family’s ancestral hall,” he replied, smiling. However, Kisa felt annoyed by his eyes trying to figure her out.

On the other hand, Jane hated Kisa to the core because of what happened at the bar today. She deliberately smiled and said, “Mrs. Kooper, what a surprise. I can’t believe you stumbled across the ancestral hall of our family in the backyard. Did you not like the clear scenery in the front yard?”

“Mm, I don’t really like bright places. The dangers of the world are too obvious under the light. I like dark places like this. I mean, don’t you? After all, you wouldn’t have to worry since I wouldn’t be able to see if you’re actually a wolf in sheep’s clothing,” Kisa insinuated.

Jane’s eyes widened in anger, but she did not dare to fight back.

At that moment, Albert pulled Arthur out of hiding by the ear. “Ouch, let go of me! What are you doing? Dad, let me go!” Arthur held his ear and yelled in pain.

Jane glanced at Arthur and laughed, “That’s strange. Were you two eavesdropping to watch the Mullen family make a joke of ourselves?”

Kisa did not say a word but thought, ‘I wouldn’t bother to watch even if you begged me.’

Arthur lowered his head and whispered, “I was just worried about Uncle Anthony.” Hearing this, a complex look flashed across Jane’s face, and she did not say anything further.

“Enough. The Mullen elders would like some peace and quiet. Everybody leave,” said Mr. Mullen Sr. as he walked toward the villa with the help of his cane.

Arthur turned his head and looked into the ancestral hall. Albert twisted his arm and snorted,

Come on. What are you looking at? Let’s go!” After that, he pulled Arthur, and the two followed Mr. Mullen Sr. Kisa tried to glance into the hall, but all she saw was Anthony’s back as he knelt .

“What? That’s the ancestral hall of the Mullen family. Are you, an outsider, trying to go in and have a look?” Jane asked mockingly.

“That’s funny, Mrs. Mullen,” Kisa pursed her lips and said expressionlessly.

Mr. Mullen Sr. walked slowly with the help of his cane. Kisa caught up in just a few steps. The place seemed dingy when she and Arthur first walked through the path. Maybe it was a psychological effect, but now that Albert and Mr. Mullen Sr. were there, the dark feeling Kisa had felt then was gone.

When passing through the prohibited, Kisa looked over at Mr. Mullen Sr. and chuckled, “I heard you built a beautiful place in the backyard to avoid the summer heat, Mr. Mullen Sr. Is it possible for us to go have a look?”

Suddenly, Mr. Mullen Sr. stopped in his tracks. “Oh my, aren’t you a curious one, Mrs. Kooper?” he said, looking at her.

“Ha-ha. Well, everyone likes looking at pretty things. I was just wondering if the interior really is as beautiful as the rumors say.”
