The Otherworldly Adventures of a Super Naive Girl

Chapter 174

Chapter 174: Seeking Stones

First place got an A-level seeking stone and a chance to make a request of the school. Previous winners had carefully held tightly to their request, to use when they needed it, after all what fool would waste such a good resource?

Only Zi Cheng was foolish enough to use her request and give up her stone to save Yifu. But Zi Cheng didn’t regret it. Her actions increased her favorability ranking with a lot of people, some rose as high as 90%, so 100% wasn’t far off.

Others in the top five were also given A-level primary stones while those 6th – 10th were given B-level primary stones.

Those ranked 11th – 50th would get C-level primary stones later but anyone ranking below that wouldn’t receive anything.[notes]

They didn’t get an explanation about the stones, only that they would begin using them in the next semester.

The assignment was easy for some, but most had a difficult time. Many hadn’t reached their monetary goal. They would have to repeat the year if they failed to reach their goal by the end of the upcoming semester.

If you were capable, it wouldn’t take a year though. Ai Lin, Zi Cheng and a few others were really good examples of that.

The school only announced the prizes after the top fifty reached their goals. Those who hadn’t reached their goals would have the rest of the year to make it.

The ranking wasn’t set in stone. There was a chance someone could break into the top 50 in the latter half of the year and get their share of the prize, but it was unlikely. There’d only been 1 or 2 successful attempts in the past thousand years.

The students dispersed after the prizes were handed out. josei

Feng Wu got her items back when she returned to class. Earlier, at the start of the assignment, all freshmen had to give up their crystal cards and items in their dimensional storage. No one wanted to, and that included Feng Wu. She had wanted to keep her storage ring.[notes] Through Jier she learned the school only really needed the items inside, so taking things literally, she emptied everything out, which of course shocked the teacher.

The stuff she brought out were crazy rare: monster core and precious materials. Some of the items couldn’t even be priced.

Professor James could only sigh. Why would you take such rare stuff out like that? Aren’t you just begging to be robbed? At least she hadn’t done it in front of the entire class.

If she had, James was sure someone would have tried to rob her as soon as she stepped off campus.

Everyone else had put their items in a disposable dimensional storage then handed it to the teacher.

Feng Wu had wanted to keep her ring because Little Bun could fit inside. Other dimensional storage couldn’t hold him.[notes] It was just too convenient! Which was why she readily emptied everything out in order to keep the ring.

Naturally Professor James didn’t know this was her reasoning and Feng Wu didn’t know how valuable the items she casually emptied out were. She hadn’t looked inside since she got the ring from Xiao Yue. She just kept loading more into it. Her main interest was eating good food, so of course she had no clue how valuable the items were.

“Xiao Wu, you’re lucky! An A-level stone is expensive! Even seniors have to exchange a lot of points for one.” It was the first time Ink was actually envious of Feng Wu.

He was lucky too, having placed 30th, he got a C-level stone. It was no A-level stone, but he was satisfied.

“This?” Feng Wu took out a crystalline white stone from her ring.

The stone was the ultimate reward for completing the assignment. It was the size of a baby’s fist, but don’t let it’s size fool you. It was worth a lot of credits!

“Yeah! That’s it. It’s the best quality, almost transparent. You can’t even see any imperfections. It’s… so… beautiful.” Ink was in awe. He looked like a 10,000 year old bachelor gawking at a peerless, untouchable beauty. The expression on his face was a bit embarrassing to look at.

One by one the other students stepped away from him.

“You’re drooling.” Feng Wu reminded Ink.

“Oh!” He didn’t take his eyes off the stone, but he did wipe his mouth. Then he smiled shyly at Feng Wu. “Can I touch it?”

Touch rocks? What hobby was this? Nevertheless Feng Wu graciously nodded as she handed him the stone.

He reached out reverently, enthusiasm blazing in his eyes.

“Ink, what’s up with that stone?” one classmate bluntly asked. “You look like you’re looking at some peerless beauty.”

They knew it had to be something precious to be used as a reward for the top 5. But not many people in class knew what it was.

“Ah, he’s not talking. But from the looks of him, it must be something awesome.”
